Hover is still the only one I would buy
Posted by: LongmontSportsWatcher from: Longmont, CO on
Having a prior Windtunnel (also bagged & now a basement-room cleaner), I am pleased with the improvements made, especially being able to turn off the brush so it no longer eats away the rug, cord, etc. when using attachments. Easy to push and navigate, and really good attachments (the power hand tool is great for stairs and chairs/couches). Great suction, but I haven't tried it with the regular paper 'Y' bag yet, still using the original cloth-like bag which can not be found anywhere. My only gripe is that the push-button power switch should be easier to work, and not require such firmness and press-depth to work.

What a terrific upgrade!

2 weeks ago I finally banished my 12 lb. Eureka - Pet Lover Bagless Upright Vacuum - Mystic Purple to the basement. See my review for issues.
I just got my Hoover last week and am SO please! First of all, it is only 3 lbs. heavier than the Pet Lover, but built so much better. Where the Eureka has plastic wheels that scratched my wood floor the Hoover has not only large rubber wheels, but a clear rubber bumper that leaves no marks on my furniture.
Even though this is not a self-propelled vacuum, it moves so easily. The suction is great and the 30' cord is wonderful - now I can vacuum the entire upstairs and stairs and only plug it in once - my husband likes this. My only complaint right now is that the door that holds the bag comes off pretty easy and so you can't use it to carry the vacuum, but maybe that might change if I use different bags and not the thick carbon bag that came with the vacuum.
All in all this Hoover has it all over Eureka. I would definately recommend this to a friend.

Happy with my Hoover
Posted by: Johnny46 from: California on
Overall, I am happy with my purchase. VERY, VERY HAPPY to have switched from a "BAGLESS" to a "BAGGED" Vacuum. Emptying the bagless versions was a nightmare. This particular unit is lightweight for me, easy to use and maneuver and does the job I expected it to do at this price point. I would recommend this Vacuum because of statements above and, well, because it Vacuums. Job done. I did not give this Hoover a 5 star rating because I think it could have a bit more suction. I may have to pass over a stubborn "fuzzy" on the carpet 2 or three times, but not so much a big deal. I need the exercise anyways.

Everything you expect from a Hoover. Great suction easy to use. Pet attachment works very good. A suprise I did not know you could turn the beater off for hard surfaces. This is great I have alot of hardwood floors and cermic tiles

Gets the Dog Hair!!!
Posted by: from: Valley Forge, PA on
I've had this about a month. Gone from daily vacuuming to 2x a week! It does a great job getting the dog hair out of the carpets. I have two dogs both with double coats and it used to take 2-3 passes with the old Eureka to get up all the hair. I prefer the bagged cleaners as I have allergies and emptying the containers is a torture. Also researched cleaners - this one was highly rated by Consumer Reports and bag cleaners in general do a better job in cleaning.
The push button on/off switch has a lot of "play" so far I haven't had problems. Also, the carry handles aren't real great - I found the one at the bottom (under the light) to be the sturdiest.

This is the best upright I've ever used!

The Hoover Pet Tunnel is light weight and very powerful. Great for carpet and hardwood floors. The upholstery attachment works well and I like the indicator that lets you know how full the bag is. The only feature I would recommend would be a longer cord, 40 feet vs the 30 foot cord.

Great vacuum at an affordable price
Posted by: LargeDogMom from: on
I done some research on best vacuums for long dog hair, and the Hoover pet wind tunnel ranked quite high on several sites. I was leaning more towards one of the more expensive models thinking that more money would mean better quality. But, I chose this one ultimately because it was lighter than the other two I was considering and I have a tri-level house with lots of stairs to carry the vacuum up and down. I also like it because the height is adjustable and the spin brush can turn on or off. One of the models I considered had automatic height adjustment and I don't always like when machines try to think for me. Our copy machine at work does that and I don't like it. I want control of the vacuum height and everything else. This vacuum allows that and does a great job. Some hairs to get caught around the spinning brush, but not nearly as much as with my previous vacuum and I think that will happen with any model when you have a dog with long hair. This vacuum does a much better job of getting it all though and I am very happy with it. And, it was about 1/3 or 1/4 the cost of some of the other models I considered. I figured even if it only lasted a handful of years, I was still getting a deal. It has been several months now and we use it two or three times a week and no problems so far. It is kind of big and bulky to use on stairs and it just dawned on me that I should have tried the attachments. I just haven't had much luck with attachments in the past, so didn't even consider it. So, I can not rank that aspect of the vacuum, but I am making a mental note to be sure to try it out next time.

I've only had it a few weeks, but it works great!

I checked out MANY vacuum brands before I purchased this one. In fact, I bought 2 bagless ones from Walmart and took them back because they didn't do what they claimed. I have a 25 yr. old bagged Hoover that I love...so I bought this one for my dad's home. I will NEVER buy a bagless vacuum again! This one lives up to all its featured claims.

Very powerful yet lightweight

This vacuum is a very good buy. It picks up dirt and lint well, leaving the carpet looking smooth and clean. It is easy to push. I haven't used the tools yet, but they look like they'll work fine. I prefer a bagged vacuum. I'd rather just remove the bag and throw it away than try to empty the canister neatly.
