I'm sure everyone's heard the one song that gets lots and lots of airplay, so much to almost make you sick of it. But seriously, the rest of the album is worth much more than that first song (can I hear an AMEN!) It's very well written, the lyrics very dark and deep. This talented artist has a way of arranging the music in that it's different but really works together brilliantly. I fell in love with this album at first listen and it stayed in my car's CD player for over two weeks with me looking forward to listening with every commute, and showing it off to every passenger. My only complaint is that it seems too short. Can't wait to hear more work by this artist. Hozier is definitely a new fave. If you want something different, you will not be disappointed.

I purchased the cd HOZIER after hearing the leading single, "Take Me to Church". Was surprised to find out I enjoy the whole cd and that the artist, A. Hozier-Byrne composed and arranged the whole album. I will certainly be ready to buy another cd from this artist.

Every song has it's own life. I really enjoyed this album. There's something about the rawness in the music and the lyrics that digs deep into the soul as you play this album. Hozier writes from a real place, even if it's not a pleasant one for everyone, and it definitely shows. One of my favorite albums at the moment.
