Awesome IPS monitor!

This is an awesome IPS monitor matched up with an HP Slim 410 desktop and it is my first IPS monitor. Even though this monitor was just newly released with only 1 review, I decided on this monitor because many past HP monitors were getting awesome reviews. The picture quality looks great with VGA or HDMI but HDMI definitely looks more crisp. The picture quality is really amazing as it is bright and crisp. Whites are white and the black are nicely black. Great price, very slim, 10,000,000 dynamic contrast ratio, 1920x1080 resolution, 23 inch antiglare widescreen! I know some people complain about the response times of IPS monitors vs LED monitors but the fast moving scenes with 7 ms response time looks very nice to me. Before I bought it, I thought the monitor may be too large but it is the perfect size especially because the bezel is very small. From the online picture, I also thought the stand looked like plastic and would be a little weak but it is actually metal and very sturdy especially because the monitor weighs so light. I am a big fan of HP because from my experience, their products are very well made and last very long.

I bought this new IPS monitor to replace an older HP monitor of the TN variety. With that old monitor, I only had to be slightly off-axis to have the colors appear to change or brightness appear to dim. This wasn't good for doing photographic editing. I spotted this HP 23es monitor on a Best Buy ad in my email. The price was so good, I had to try it.
It was a cinch to set up. I was all ready with screwdrivers and pliers and hammers and didn't need any of them. The base is simply two pieces that fit well together with a locking thumb screw. That was it. Ready to roll - well almost.
The cable included is an HDMI to HDMI, and the catch here is that my desktop has choices of either VGA or DVI. So I needed to purchase a specialty DVI to HDMI cable to make it work. But work it does. Beautiful images, with lots of menu choices for adjustments.
With some online fine-tuning sites, I've got this monitor looking its very best, and I feel the colors are more accurate than what I was using before.

Love it so far.

I went to Best Buy to check out different monitor and saw this one as I was walking away. At first I was hesitant to spend that much on a monitor as my budget was about $40.00 less. No regrets so far, the picture is gorgeous and set up was a breeze.
My current computer is very old and will be replaced in the near future. This monitor not only works with my old computer (VGA) but will work on the new one which will only have HDMI.

I was looking around for a basic monitor to use with my MacBook Pro. This monitor met most of the features I was looking for. Visually, it is almost a perfect match.
The MBP has a Retina display and I was expecting this monitor would be a step down. But, honestly the color and resolution is quite good and I don't feel like I'm missing much and enjoy the additional screen real estate. Yes, when you get up close you will know it isn't a Retina, but at normal viewing distances, the display is just fine.
I calibrated with a ColorMunki. As usual, the default settings were a bit too bright and over saturated. After calibrating the screen matches most of what i see on the MBP.
Set up was extremely easy. Assemble, plug in power and monitor cables, turn the monitor on and it just worked. I did buy a displayport to HDMI C cable. Since the monitor was on sale the cable and monitor was about $20.00 less than the regular price of the monitor alone.

Apple iMac User Likes This as Second Monitor
Posted by: Johnnycommando from: on
Went online and did a search for good alternative to Macintosh displays and HP came up. I saw this 23" IPS LED HD option on sale at bestbuy.com for under $100.00. The Apple 27" Thunderbolt is $999.00. This monitor is 86% the size at 10% the price... easy decision. Out of the box it was instantly mirroring... a few settings changes and a quick Color calibration – that took 5 minutes – and it is 5-by-5. Easy choice.

Solid Monitor with HDMI input

Beautiful screen, HDMI input, great price for what you get. Unfortunately, my frame was warped out of the box, so the adhesive wasn't effective along one of the edges. Returning tomorrow and attempting round 2.

Good Office Monitor
Posted by: RandyC from: on
I am replacing all of the monitors in my offices. Purchased this one first to make sure it was suitable and of high quality. Ultimately selected this particular monitor (HP - 23 IPS LED HD Monitor - Natural silver) for several reasons. 1) It has a great resolution 2) Very crisp and clear display 3) Natural Silver color matches the computers and office style 4) Small bezel so no wasted space. 5) 23 inch is large enough to meet the needs of our normal office apps without have too large of a desktop footprint. Over all very satisfied with this monitor's look\performance for the price. I have already ordered additional units (so that should tell you something.)

Got this monitor on a good sale and I'm very happy with it. The colors and viewing angle are great and it works fine for most games. If you are looking at getting into fighting games you probably want something with a better refresh but for the average gamer looking to play action and fps games this will work fine.

Pick this monitor up. You won't be disappointed!
I run my 2015 MacBook Pro with Retina display to this monitor and after trying countless other monitors this one blows them away. The quality isn't as sharp as the retina display on my MacBook pro but that is expected with the resolution difference. Nonetheless this monitor looks great! No glare whatsoever and the matte finish is still clear and extremely bright even with the brightness all the way down.
I also run my Xbox one through this more often than I use my 65 inch 4k tv because it looks that good for gaming. I do wish it had an audio out option so I could run speakers through it with my Xbox sometimes but I use a turtle beach headset when using the Xbox.
I picked this up for $99 at Best Buy so if you can find it for under $150 I would pick this up!
