Fantastic concept and design Posted by: from: Cleveland, OH on This case is well thought of and of exceptionally good build quality. Case fits well with the M8. The top flap is made of soft rubber and is quite durable. HTC has shamelessly copied the apple smart cover concept. Screen locks/unlocks with the flap of the case. The flap doesn't hold on to the screen completely which gives the possibility of dust accumulation. Magnetic latch would have been great. The good thing about the case is the retro look it has to offer. The motion sensor of the phone works in sync with the case. The bad thing is it hides the beauty of the phone at the back. A brushed aluminium look like the casemate cases would have been fantastic. $50 is expensive for a hard plastic back and rubber flap. Just got this case from Bestbuy on preorder today. Had 04/10 as my date of delivery but got in store today. Great work Bestbuy.

Great looking case!! Posted by: from: Spokane, WA on The Dot View Case is MADE for this phone. It works so well with the phone it honestly feels like it should be given to you when you purchase it. Also now that you can have wallpapers when you check the time through the case, it looks even better However there are a few drawbacks to the case. 1. The cover tends to block the camera and flops around needlessly. Because of this it sometimes gets to be a bit frustrating when trying to take a picture or if you've left it open. If they had integrated it to bend in half with the ability to hook in on itself it would be perfect 2. The case is really just for looks. If you're looking for something to actually protect your phone from something more than a minor drop here and there, I would highly suggest looking into another case. The case indeed a head turner but the plastic feels cheap and the screen cover doesn't sit as securely as it could have.

Almost excellent, a few tweaks needed Posted by: from: Charlottesville on This case looks god on the phone, even though it covers the metal back, and I like the features through the case, time, weather, answer the phone, etc. However, when the case is opened it does not fold back flat on the back of the phone which is very inconvenient when using the phone with the case open. I am trying to stretch the plastic hinge on mine to get it to open a full 180 degrees. Second trouble is that if open all the way the camera on the back, the main camera, is blocked. Interestingly, the front facing camera has an opening, but it is not really likely that I will need that feature much. I think HTC could make a hole in the case of the main camera and design the graphic interface to simulate the holes effect on the front when the case is closed. This feels to me like a great concept, mostly well-executed, but one which the designers did not actually use in real-word situations.

Not so handy or convenient Posted by: from: on This is a cool idea to use a phone case. The cutout is perfectly matched. I do like the feature by double tap the dotview case to reveal time/date and weather. But the case is kind of thin and does not provide much protection. After several months of normal use, the back panel of this case has been worn or scratched quite a lot. I did not even drop my phone or abuse it! And it's annoying when you try to use the camera, I can't fold the front cover back (it will block the camera) and I have to hold my phone by both hands. That's not very convenient when you just want to snap some shots quickly, so I don't use this case now.

Average Phone Case Posted by: from: on I'm glad I only paid $12 for this case because it overrides my passcode login, even though I set phone lock after 15 mins and it has been 30 mins. I put the screen on maximum brightness and the dot view is not as clear as I though it would be. What annoys me the most is the screen cover doesn't close completely and you have to always hold it down when you are looking at the screen. I wish there was a small magnet that would hold the screen flap in place. The plastic material is not the best, but decent. One last thing: the seal was already broken by the time I picked up my brand new case when I picked it up.

Horrible Purchase, returned within 20 minutes Posted by: from: lubbock, tx on This product is absolute garbage, the "cover" doesn't even sit flush with the screen of my M8. The cover doesn't fully bend all the way around the phone when you are using the phone so it becomes intrusive and makes it difficult to actually use the phone itself. Overall I would rate this 0/5 stars but that's not an option. The dot screen isn't visible when there is any sunlight whatsoever and is only interesting for the first five minutes. Clearly HTC has paid people to endorse this product because no one in their right mind would actually give this product a good review. Do not buy this case.

HTC Dot View Case Posted by: from: Austin on First, the case cover matches the phone color perfectly. Some folks thought it was part of the phone. The hardshell back is very rigid and provides a buffer so when the phone is placed on a hard surface, all contact is with the cover. The flip cover works well and stays closed due to the tension in the hinge. I was tempted to add a velcro snap to keep the cover closed but have discovered I didn't need it. Being able to answer the phone and check basic function using the dot reader (let's you see through the cover) is very helpful and handy. I paid a little more for this cover but am glad I did. I only wish the cover could be converted into a stand to prop the phone up when you open the cover as with iPad covers. Be aware that if the phone cover is closed, the media player won't play. If there is a way around this, I haven't discovered it.

The more things change, the more they stay the same Posted by: from: California on The piece of equipment is so simple, yet has made the phone into some optical illusion that everyone I meet Is intrigued by. I like it since I can still see phone statuses but no need to be concerned with the screen being damaged. Bonus its durable. Don't let the price repel you, its higher than average cases for price, but form, fit and function, give it extra value that those other high durable cases over charge for.
