Love the phone but cannot find glass screen replacement as Huawei has no market share in USA and the retailers nor repair shops have materials to repair. I would pass on Huawei until this gets better.

Disclaimer: I have no way to affiliate with the phone company, but I got the phone from the manufacture directly in the early day. Below is the review I wrote after two weeks' usage and tests: It is a great phone. But it has been a hard task for me to pick up the best feature of the Honor 5X phone. If I have to choose, the cameras may be on the top (considering the price), then the battery, then the build, the quality, the performance, EMUI and user-friendly designs. All of them are really close on my ranking, and all of them should be above the average of phones in the similar price range in my personal view of point. The detailed review follows. The nice cameras: 9/10 After searching among most recent phones, this phone's camera is surprisingly among those of the pricy ones. I have used the phone cameras in big conference rooms, typical class rooms, on street and many other places in my daily life. The cameras work great! In the classroom, it is very helpful to take a Panorama on the blackboard. I did one with a long blackboard--the resolution is set to be relatively low and my hands were shaking at the end. The text is good enough for notes taking! But there is still some room for Huawei to improve on the optical stability of cameras. I taken some photos on street at lunch time. The camera readjusted the strong sunshine on top automatically so that you don't feel too bright, but I did! On the software side, there are also useful features and apps using the cameras. You can make photos in Valencia, Sweat, Sentimental and other flavors and beautify photos in real time. It also has the dedicated design for taking photos for food. Most interestingly, there are pre-installed apps for using the phone as a mirror, magnifier and flashlight if you need. I always want to see the back of my head, but I couldn't do it until I have the phone. I just use the Mirror function and put the phone on the other side of my head and touch the screen to have a snapshot over the front camera, and then I can see if there is any grey hair on the back side in real details! The Mirror function is different than a normal camera because normal camera function may automatically re-focus for a fixed effect, but with the Mirror, you can zoom in and fix the focus if you want to see more details of the photo. Moreover, if you blow over the microphone, the Mirror really "condensate fog"! The long-lasting battery and energy-efficient design: 9/10 I have tested the energy consuming and battery lasting time in a normal usage mode, a heavy usage mode and standby modes. All gives impressive results. With a normal use (wifi, camera on, Twitter and so on) in a conference event from 7:30am to 9:30pm, the phone still has 72% battery left over in the end. I have also tried a little bit of crazy, with wifi on for facebook, twitter, and sharing photos, no apps closed if openned, uisng Endomondo to track my travel path using GPS and using a lot of apps, for the worst and heaviest usage, I still has almost 20%-30% of battery left after a day. I did a 22min wifi calling test, the voice was clear, battery only dropped 3% to give an estimated airtime of 666min which can be improved if GSM signal is used. Basically I don't worry about the power supply in a day for most of using cases. For the standby modes, I tested two modes. One is with Wifi and GPS on (no SIM card installed over the course), the battery went from 51% at 9:34 on Feb 15 in the morning and to 44% at 6:19pm the same day with a few automatic app updates. Only 7% of power drop in 9 hours. The other mode is just to have every app closed, no wifi and GPS, turned on for about 5 days. It still have about 90% of power at the end of test. However, I forgot to turn three apps off during the process and it drills the power a little. It predicted there could be 30 more days alive time in the same mode based on the linear regression of past usage pattern. Shining metal body and strong-built cores: 9/10 If you have the phone at hand, you won't refuse the light but solid and quality feeling. Huawei has really put a lot of efforts on building metals bodies of phones -- see the premium Mate and P series of Huawei phones. I also did a couple of simple free drop tests from heights about 1.5m and 2m (much taller than my head). The video can be found on YouTube. A much complete 4-step drop test by Huawei guys can be searched on Google. After the 10m drop, the screen was cracked but still responding. I did not go that far. But from my drop tests, I didn't see any scratch or crack, the phone is still fully functional. It is built in tough! Fresh-feeling EMUI and user-friendly design: 9/10 It has been convenient for me to directly use the fringerprint reader, pre-installed apps and swiping around over the phone on the EMUI Android system. The EMUI and pre-installed apps are really convenient for me. Despite the phone screen is large, it comes with a one-hand UI. The power saving features and the free Huawei backup storage offer are really a nice support for using the phone. There are some useful settings as well. For example, on Accessibility, you can choose Gloves mode, so that the phone can respond correctly if you wear a glove and need to touch the phone in an unusual way. With motion control setting, you can set Flip to Mute, Shake to Rearrange icons, Double Tap to Turn on Screen, and Draw various Letters on the turned-off Screen to Turn on Flashlight, Music, Dialer and other functions easily. These designs are similar to OnePlus phones. Overall, I think this phone is built with almost the best hardware and quality with truncations of investiments on NFC, gyroscopic sensor and storage space. You can purchase a NFC card and up to 128GB SD card to extend the storage space if you really need. I don't feel the gyroscopic sensor is that important for now. One thing I need to remind you is that this phone comes with dual SIM cards support but not with dual wifi bands support. If you need to use other wifi bands, this is a restriction. For my case, I have downloaded a 2.7GB upgrade package from Huawei over wifi in ~20min at a university, I don't need dual wifi bands in my working environment. So far, I haven't found any other phone which has similar build and price at the same time in the US market.
