Awesome Quality - Too Small Build
Posted by: AnotherMikeT from: McKinney, TX on
I purchased the Hyper X based on reviews online. Not only on Best Buy, but several other sources. The build quality and feel of this headset is superb. I can also recommend this headset... provisionally.
I, unfortunately, had to return the headset as it is too small for my head. The headset did not extend far enough to prevent the ear cup from pulling up on my ears which made it painful to wear for any length of time.
Sound quality was excellent, build is solid.
So, for people that can wear the one size fits all ball caps, you probably will not have any issues with this headset. If the ball caps are too small at the largest setting... well, try a pair in store if possible to ensure they will fit properly.

Great headset overall and cheap as well!

I purchased this headset after my SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism broke after a light drop. Went to Best Buy a few hours later and bought this headset. Immediately I realized that it was better. First of all the comfort is amazing. I can wear this for hours and not even feel like I'm wearing it. The sound is great (7.1 surround sound is a nice touch on a headset for this price however few games really support and it and utilize it at all. The mic being deattachable is nice (personally I don't use it) but it is nice. The different set of ear cushions are greatly appreciated and something even my twice as expensive headset didn't offer. But one at half the price has it. The sound card is nice because it makes the mic usable in certain programs which other wise can't be used I using 3.5mm jacks. It still keeps the 3.5mm connectivity for use in phones, PlayStation 4 among other things. If you want a good headset for below $100 I can strongly recommend this headset over anything else. Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found it helpfull. PS this headset can easily rival headsets at 3 times the cost.

Best Headset I've owned
Posted by: Saitzev from: Missouri on
This headset is incredible. The sound is great, and the Virtual 7.1 is pretty cool. I use it mainly for work, but I also use it for my PS4. There's only one con for using it on Consoles and that is that there are no in-line controls like what you would get with a dedicated PS4 headset.
The detachable Mic is nice feature as are the extra included velour ear cups and the adapter for front panel pc connections if you only want to use the headset and not the inline controls. I can't say that the connector will work on every case as there's no way that Kingston could have checked every one out there, but it does appear to work on my NZXT Switch 810.
The USB controls also house the amp so it unfortunately doesn't function on anything besides a PC since the PS4 is unable to load drivers for this sort of thing. The Mute slider does however work.
Other than that, this is a stellar headset for the Price. It is very well built and doesn't feel cheap at all and has a good quality heft to it. It feels very solid and I have no no doubt this will last me a while.
If you're in the market for something in the $75-100 range this is your best bet.

- Amazing comfort- I could wear these things all day without any issues.
-Sound quality - These perform as well as most headsets ranging in the 150-200$ bracket, good highs and lows with the middle range only lacking slightly. Good bass but not overpowering.
-Detachable mic - if you have no need to speak or just prefer not to.
-Build quality - They feel really rugged, but are flexible. The leatherette ear pads are splendid, I am so satisfied that I have not tried to switch to the alternate pads that were included. All the included cables are braided.
The cord on the headset unit is a tad short, and the cord on the 7.1 in-line volume control is too long. If I had the choice I would take about 1.5-2 ft from the the longer and add it to the shorter cable.
Overview: I cannot stress enough how much I love this headset, it has amazing noise cancellation, comfort, style, and build quality. The few cons I have for this headset are more than made up for in quick fixes and superior materials and execution. For the slight annoyance of the shirt-clip dongle (was able to clip it to another piece of cord nearby with no problem) this headset outperforms any headset previously owned and then some at this price. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality headset every time.

Great for the Price!

I got these after a long battle between Astro A40's and Cloud ii's. Then these went on sale for 59.99 and I got them. The 7.1 works on PS4, its a little clunky to get on but it has a noticeable difference.
If you want a good deal on a quality product, get these!

Great sound and functionality
Posted by: RzrBak0402 from: on
I needed a headset I could use with my PC, cell phone and Xbox One. I searched and read reviews on a variety brands. Once I narrowed down the choices, I went to several local stores for a hands on listening experience.
By far the HyperX Cloud II headset fit my needs without breaking the bank. The removable mic is great for when I just want to listen to music, movies etc. It has a digitally enhanced, noise-cancelling microphone with automatic gain control functionality and echo cancellation. No one can tell I'm using a headset when I'm on my phone.
Sound is excellent! HyperX Cloud II is Hi-Fi capable, with 53mm drivers for superior audio performance and rich sound quality with crystal-clear low, mid and high tones and enhanced bass via the sound card. This sound is further enhanced by the hardware-driven virtual 7.1 surround sound.
Finally (but not to be minimized) the headset is very comfortable to wear for hours on end!

Sturdy construction great sound!

I bought this set of headphones because I was sick of cheaper ones falling apart. They usually have plastic that wears out and snaps in all the most used places. Also the earpieces fake leather cracks and I end up with black stuff all over me. These headphones have 2 sets of pads, one fabric and one "leather" (don't know if it is real or fake, but the pads are really soft) so if one set wears out they are not totally ruined. They are holding up great so far. Also I like the rubber feeling material attached with two screws each where the metal sizing slides. Really long cord that has a nylon material on the outside. Last but not least the sound quality is excellent and I have had no complaints on how my mic sounds.

Best Price/Performance PC Headset Available
Posted by: Zero7159 from: on
I bought this headset a few months ago because I had read so many good things about it and the reviews are correct, this is one heck of a headset.
-Outstanding sound quality - good deep base, plenty of treble; almost as good as my Astro A40 headset which has the mixamp and is hooked up to a Sound Blaster Z sound card
-Easy to set up - no driver needed, just hook it up via USB and you are ready to go; USB sound card is included
-Excellent surround sound for a headset
-High end build quality, feels better built than my Astro A40 headsets, which cost $150 more
-Long, good quality braided cable
-Its a wired headset - I have tried and owned plenty of wireless headsets and I now use mostly wired headsets. Wireless is not worth the hassle IMO
-The mic is removable, but you cannot fold it up
-Consoles only can do stereo sound, no surround
-You cannot practically use it with a sound card, nor does it have an optical connector; USB is really your only option if you want full functionality
In summary, you cannot beat this headset for the money. If your budget is around $100, this is the best option available for PC. Period.

These headphones have a kick! Plus their built to last so don't worry about extending the warranty. Their also extremely comfortable so you can have them on for hours without them hurting your ears! Two thumbs up. Great product. ONLY FLAW THOUGH, if you have Xbox like me you need to buy an adapter for these headphones.

Great headset for price

I was replacing my Turtle Beach X41 after many years of use and found my decision to purchase this headset to be based on the fact that it showed up in so many different online reviews of top Xbox headsets. For me, the headset is doing its job, and the comfort is great, but I have to admit I miss the clarity of my Turtle Beach. For the purposes of gaming, I find myself straining to decipher exactly where sounds are coming from. Maybe it is just me getting used to the headsets, but even after a few weeks, I still have some issues. Overall though, for the price they are, they have been working out great
