Well. I got this headset because it was on sale hoping it would be at least decent until i can get a pair of lg tones. And what a surprise! I love the sound and the call quality is good. And for the price.... Get them. You wont regret it!!

OK, but not full-featuredin
Posted by: OzInCMH from: on
I picked up this headset on sale recently. Had a few certificates that were expiring and I wanted a better Bluetooth headset than my current one.
The pros: Fairly lightweight, paired with my phone easily, very good sound quality for Bluetooth, magnetic earpiece storage works well
The cons: Microphone could be better (or maybe better located). I get a lot of external noise on it which results in the other side of the call asking me to repeat myself. Power switch is a bit difficult and I'm afraid I'm going to break it off at some point.
My biggest gripe, though... unless I'm totally missing something, it does not activate the phone when pushing the call button. All my previous BT headsets would activate voice dialing (or Google now) on my G4 but this one does not. It will redial the last number if you double-tap the button. I messaged Insignia and was told that this headset won't activate voice dialing. That seems very unusual. I guess I always assumed that pushing the button and activating voice dialing was a BT standard, but maybe that's not the case.
I can live with having to dial from the phone, but that is the main reason I would not recommend the headset. If I find out something different, I will change my review, but until then I would not recommend.

I have tons of Bluetooth headphones of different size and shapes including a pair of LG Tones which are similar in form and function to these. These headphones smoke the Tones. In fact they may be my favorite pair of Bluetooth headphones ever. I was in the store looking for some Noise Canceling headphones as I fly a lot. I have a pair of over the ear Noise Isolation headphones which work pretty well, but I was seriously considering purchasing something in the $300 price range with active noise canceling instead. A friendly sales person came up to me and suggested a pair of these. I was skeptical, but he had me try them on. The sound is fantastic and they do a great job of blocking out the noise. I literally started laughing because I looked at him and his mouth was moving but I could not hear him talking. These are comfortable, provide great sound, and do an excellent job of blocking out surrounding noise, plus the price is great. I have yet to find the perfect set of Bluetooth headphones, and I have not had a chance to try these in all my usual scenarios, but these have shot straight to the top of my all time favorites lists.

They get the job done, but not for Audiophiles...
Posted by: Spacirelei from: on
...But then again an audiophile wouldn't invest into something that was $30-50. I already own some larger bluetooth headphones that were a tad bit big on my head. I was looking for something discreet where I could still wear a hat in the winter months. I see fellow mail carriers have a similar bluetooth head around the neck with ear buds.
At Best Buy, I browsed the headphone isle till I saw them on sale. I got a nice discount on them and sprung for the extended warranty (because i work outside all seasons). So far I am pleasantly pleased with them. The battery life seems alright for what they say. So I can pretty much play music my whole walking route if I so desired. It took about a week or so to get used to hitting the controls on the device blindly.
Using this device to make and receive phone calls wasn't difficult. However there was indeed a big difference in quality between using this device vs just straight up talking on my phone. I think that it just simulates "speaker phone". As people would comment that they could hear everything around me when I was on the call with them. Clarity to my voice returns when I switch off bluetooth and use my phone to talk.
As for music.. well. I didn't expect much. But it somewhat limits the genres I listen too. Some of the heavier stuff I listen too like My Bloody Valentine just don't sound all that stellar, but bands like Hammock in their quiet ambience sound wonderful. I played some heavy bass guitar post-punk and thought the bass part to be a tad lacking. Some of the mid to high range stuff sounds a bit like a tin can. But I think the average person isn't really going to be bothered in the end. So if you are undecided you may disregard my snobbish cons.
Personally I do not think they are worth the MSRP. But $40 and below I think you should pull the trigger on them. If you are willing to drop $50 on these, you might as well throw in an extra 20-30 and get something nicer (which is what I am hoping to do in the next few months). If you need something in a pinch, and don't talk on the phone, or care about the audiophile aspect.. These are perfect for you.

I Hope Second One Works
Posted by: Daryl2014 from: Houston, TX on
I purchased this headset and it worked perfectly for about 3 1/2,weeks. Then it got very glitchy and could not maintain the connection. I took it back and Best Buy happily exchanged it. I purchased the extended warranty (2 years) so I knew I had a headset that would work two years. I recommend the two year warranty as it was only $8.99. So far, the second one works fine. The battery does not last ten hours as I read someplace, it lasts about 3-4 hours. No big deal to charge it over night for me to use for a 2 hour workout each day. I wish the little ear bud cords were about an inch longer. If you have a "long" neck, the cords may not be long enough for you. For under $60 (including the warranty) it is a good headset.

Great for the price

These are great for me most of the time when I'm doing various cardio (walking, jogging etc) and the sound quality is top notch. My only issue is the sound skips periodically when you turn your head sometimes when listening to music as another customer previously stated. The problem is I've had LG Tones do the same thing. But I'm a 6'3 300 lb guy. So it's great but if you have a big neck and delts like me the design may make it not the best option. But other smaller guys who recommended them have had no problems at all.

My sister has a very noisy jeep for her vehicle and the radio doesn't work. The only way she can listen to music/radio is with her phone but she was having to balance the phone on her shoulder because the jeep was too loud. Now with this she can comfortably listen to music and answer phone calls. This device has a great clarity and def drowns out the background noise of the jeep. I called her while she was driving and didn't even know she was on the road.
