Synopsis

Investigative Reports: Drugs at the Border
This documentary, part of the Investigative Reports series from the Arts and Entertainment Cable Network, goes behind the scenes of drug smuggling from Mexico to the United States. Narrated by Investigative Reports host and producer Bill Kurtis, this video follows the work of Drug Enforcement Agency worker Don Ferrarone as he works the U.S.-Mexico border, trying to keep drugs out of America. Ferrarone is a notorious figure in the DEA, battling some of the toughest and most infamous drug criminals in the world. Even with his extensive career, trying to patrol America's Southern border is tougher than anything he has ever encountered. Ferrarone receives little cooperation from either Mexican or American law enforcement officials and is continuously dealing with the corruption of the drug industry and restrictions from the DEA itself. In addition to interviews with Ferrarone, there is commentary from customs officials and other DEA agents. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi
