Synopsis

Investigative Reports: Wildfires - Fighting Fire With Fire
In this documentary, part of the Investigative Reports series from the A&E cable network, series host and producer Bill Kurtis takes a close look at the men and women who risk their lives as firefighters who specifically fight wildfires. These "hotshots" head right into the center of the danger, going above and beyond what regular firefighters do to fight fire. Some work as smoke jumpers and others as tanker pilots who fight the fires from above in planes. Investigative Reports follows some of the "hotshots" from their training days to the actual day-to-day work they do. Footage of some of the worst wildfires in recent years is used to depict what these men and women do to protect others and the environment. Interviews with some of the "hotshots" offer insight into why these people choose such a dangerous job for a living. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi
