JCVD Jean-Claude Van Damme plays himself in this meta-crime comedy that finds him garnering mores headlines than he's had in years after stumbling into an in-progress bank heist. Down and out, with only straight-to-DVD titles under his belt and a recent job lost out to fellow has-been Steven Seagal, the aging action star returns to Belgium a broken man fresh from losing a custody case for his daughter in Hollywood. Upon his arrival, the bad news continues with a disastrous ATM encounter that leads him into the bank and straight into a robbery situation, for which he's about to be blamed. Soon, crowds grow outside on the street, with the cops quick to point the finger at him and his fans cheering for his release. The film garnered a cult following during its festival run and awarded Van Damme his first theatrical release in the States in almost a decade. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

I used to be a huge van dam fan. but i have been real disappointed with his movies for the past decade or so. then i heard about this movie on G4 tv. They said it was great so I gave it a shot. I have to say it really is his best movies in years and is aleast worth a watch for any jcvd fan. at least rent it anyway.

Van Damme is back

As a child of the eighties and nineties, I cut my teeth on Van Damme's movies. Last year, when I learned that he was making something unlike anything that he has ever done, I was stoked. My aunt had huge crush on him back then and she was the only person I could think of seeing this movie with. We went opening night, and both of us were floored. The opening extended shot of him doing what he does best was a nostalgia trip, but then something else happened. He shows a side of him that few people knew he had. The guy can actually act! It was so refreshing to see an actor that I admired for his power and agility as a child, now providing a decent story to accompany those moves. There are a few scenes where he reminds us that he can still throw the best kicks ever. For anyone that appreciates any of Van Damme's movies, this one is definately a must see!

The first 5 mins of the movie is a look inside his latest action film.It was nothing I expected from a Van Damme movie.Since when did he start doing drama?Anyway he walks inside a bank cause he needs some money unaware that at the same time the bank is being robbed. Now the cops think he's a criminal, but he has become a hostage. If you want to see action look elsewhere, but if you want to see drama staring Jean Claude Van Damme that this one is it.
