Great sound, features, price, and quality. Luv it!

Posted by: BillfromTexas from on 04/03/2016Replaced my factory Mazda Radio with this JVC unit and have been very pleased. I had considered getting a touch screen model, but then decided from a practical usability standpoint, buttons and a large knob work better rather than navigating menus while driving. This unit looks awesome and I was able to get the color setup to match my instrument cluster. I chose a conservative non blinking color, but the unit allows creative matching of blinking and colors if so desired (such as “Techno”!). Bluetooth works flawlessly with my iPhone 4 for streaming music. Sound from the unit is beautiful and can be adjusted to suit the music. Unit lighting can be set to different levels for day and night. I installed myself. Took me less than an hour, but I did also purchase a wiring harness specifically for my Mazda as well as a Metra plastic mounting bracket which made installation a breeze. I like how the colors on the wiring harness from the radio exactly matched the color wires on my Mazda aftermarket wiring harness. In terms of cons, I still have not mastered how to get the microphone setup in such a way that people can hear me clearly while I am driving, though I can hear them very clearly on the vans speakers. Could be how I set it up. So overall, this JVC is a great unit packed with everything I need and when considering the price paid at Best Buy (was on clearance when I bought) it is an amazing value. Since I just purchased I can’t comment on long term quality, but can say that the unit feels very solid with all buttons and knob having a good solid feel. It is also from JVC, so I feel that the build quality should be decent.

Versatile Bluetooth Car Radio

Posted by: Lastwizard from on 03/25/2016After looking at car radios in our budget for under $200 we found this one from JVC to be the most versatile and modern looking. There is a USB jack for plugging in your smartphone if you don't want to use bluetooth. This model is made to function with the Pandora app, and it has additional functionality for Apple iPhone users. Both of these added features are what we were looking for in a car stereo. A minor drawback is that the buttons are too tiny for blindly using the stereo while driving, but the added remote makes this not an issue. You sacrifice button functionality for good looks, others may be more dexterous than myself, so thats just personal preference.

I like it enough

However, I have a problem with my iPhone in that it sometimes doesn't always sync to the phone for music and voice instantaneously. I have to disconnect and reconnect. Also, it doesn't disconnect a call from the device, I have to end the call on my phone which sucks.

Great sound, Bluetooth feature is great

Posted by: Kahousto from on 03/18/2016I upgraded from my stock system. The double din looks great in my dash. Bluetooth connection is fast and easy. Works well with Spotify as well as the android music app. Forward and back controls work but the name of the song does not display. USB connection does not work with my note 5 (but I knew that when I purchased, I could not find any systems under 200 that would work with Android). Love the adjustable colors (separate tones for the top and bottom and you get to adjust red blue and green...the color possibilities are almost limitless). The only thing that I would say is it takes a minute to figure out the controls (you have to hold down the menu button for the menu to come up for example) but once you figure it out its very simple. Overall this is a great product and I am very happy with my purchase.
