works quick and gat Posted by: from: jaclsonville, fl on i did a ton of research before purchasing this item. The reservoir is large so takes a while to fill up. It is has a timer setting as well as manual. I am using it in my 2200sf apartment and just wheel from room to room. living in FL there is always a level of humidity indoors even with the air thermostat set at 77/78 degrees. This unit lowers the humidity from 70 percent to 50 percent in less the a half hour. no complaints yet. The only thing I didnt anticipate was the unit does generate a small amount of heat (fan blows hot air) which sometimes wil counteract the airconditioning and make it run more frequently.

A waste of natural resources. Posted by: from: on Worked for 54 weeks, just long enough for the warranty to expire. Like 2 previous dehumidifiers I have owned the control board failed and cannot be replaced because replacement boards are not made. So I now have a $180.00 piece of plastic and metal that will be going to the recycling center. My first dehumidifier was made in America and lasted 25 years. I've been through 3 Chinese made dehumidifiers in 6 years and all 3 failed because a poorly designed and cheaply built electronic circuit board died taking the rest of the dehumidifier with it. It's outrageous.

Do NOT purchase Posted by: from: on I purchased this product online, knowing that there seemed to be a good number of positive reviews mixed in with a handful of negative reviews. Because of that, I also purchased the protection plan. I did so thinking that if it died after the manufacturer's warranty, it would cover me. However, I didn't think it would die within 30 minutes after plugging it into the outlet! I wish I was kidding. I received the dreaded "EC" error code. I looked it up online and it read that this was fixed by taking it off the "continuous" setting. This is poor design/ engineering. If it doesn't work when you use it in an intended setting, it is shoddy engineering.

Excellent for the price. Posted by: from: Swanton, VT on This dehumidifier rivals many name brand units that are much more expensive. It is extremely quiet even on turbo fan. Removes moisture from the air quickly even in a 1400 sq ft basement. The low temperature operation and auto defrost were a must for us. Would have given 5 stars, but the case seems to be made of relatively cheap plastic. That being said the case in no way effects the great performance of this unit and looks just fine.

Exactly what I was looking for Posted by: from: Columbia, MD on We are renting out our basement. We had a leak. The carpet got wet and we couldn't dry the place out. I was afraid of mold growing. The cost would have been a lot to clean the place out. I fixed the leak spot. Cleaned up the best I could. Then as a preventative measure. I purchased this Dehumidifier. I couldn't be any happier. It keeps the basement dry. There are no complaints. I wish I bought it sooner.

Great product Posted by: from: Bel Air on We really like the dehumidifier and feel that it is a great value for the amount that we paid for it. One of the things that we particularly like is how quiet it is. Our old unit was very loud and it was hard to concentrate when using our computer in the same room. There where times when we had to turn it off in order to think. We would totally recommend this Keystone unit.

Still good after a year Posted by: from: on I wanted to wait for a year in order to give people a better review. It has been on continuously for a year and it still works well. It is placed in the cellar (about 20 feet from the washer). I have balance problems so I dump the water in the washer - just an idea to consider.

Easy to use , does a great job Posted by: from: Las Vegas on Great product , easy to set up . I put it in my basement to control humidity. Keeps humidity at level that I preset , doesn't have to run a lot to keep humidity level constant . My basement is open but is nearly 2000 sq. feet. I first put it in the basement with it draining internally , I had to empty it about every 36 hours . I then simply attached it to drain into a floor drain thru a hose . It runs perfectly now , no troubles. Great dehumidifier for the price !!

Doing it's job so far..... Posted by: from: on I want to start out by saying how hard it is to buy a decent dehumidifier anymore. My parents have an inexpensive dehumidifier that they bought some 45 years ago that is still in service and is used constantly. I know my Dad changed the fan on it one time in those 45 years. Anymore, you seem to be lucky if you get a few years out of one of these "modern" dehumidifiers. Oh well....that' s progress, I guess! I painstakingly read reviews on many, many dehumidifiers before making my purchase. The decision wasn't easy, as they all seem to suffer from poor quality. I decided upon this Keystone unit in the end, as it seemed to be the best of the bunch in this price range. Here are the good and bad about it. The good - It really does seem to do a good job at removing moisture from the air. I'm currently emptying the bucket to see how well it's doing, before hooking up the drain hose. I empty it every morning before work, and again after arriving back home. The bucket is full almost every time I go to empty it. I believe it would fill up about 4 times per day if I were more diligent about emptying it out. I have the humidity level set to 45 and it has noticeably reduced the moisture level in my basement. The bad - I've read where people think the bucket/handle assembly is a bit flimsy.....and I agree. I do not trust the handle to support the full bucket of water. Maybe it will, but I'd rather not find out the hard way that it won't. Just feels too cheap/flimsy. Also, the bucket is oddly difficult to put back into the unit after it has been removed. It will go in, but it takes a bit of finesse to get it back in. Once you learn how to do it (insert bucket at an angle, then swing it into position, etc.) it's not so bad, but it shouldn't have been designed that way. One more thing is that if you turn the unit OFF (rather than finding it OFF due to the bucket being full) and then you remove the bucket to empty it, you will find that the unit will leak several ounces of water onto the floor while you are emptying the bucket. I've even waited a minute or two after turning it OFF before removing the bucket, but still it leaks water onto the floor. In my case, I am only in an unfinished basement and don't care about this too much, but it's something to think about if you are putting it over some nicer flooring materials. All in all, I'm not sorry I bought it so far. I've been using it about 6 weeks, and it's been doing its job. Pretty sure I won't be getting 45 years out of it like my Dad did his, but as my Dad would say "they just don't make 'em like they used to!". Good luck with your purchase.

Effective, efficient and quiet. Posted by: from: Minneapolis, MN on Every dehumidifier I've ever owned has been so noisy, we could hear it throughout the house. It would have to be turned off when watching movies. This one is whisper quiet and has a large reservoir so it doesn't have to emptied as often.
