i bought the full set of klipsch reference speakers on 8-2-14. now i wasnt really sure how i was going to feel about this sub cause you cant really hear it well in the store. theres too much room and the shelves rattle like crazy there. out of the whole set of speakers i am most impressed with this 12in subwoofer. quick background, i have 2- 12in icon subs in my avalanche and i have 1100 watts pushing them and to me its not nearly loud enough. so i like my bass. and no joke i had the volume turned up only around half way and i could hear this sub outside my home. i think it mayne perfect for the whole surround system. it maybe even over power the other speakers justa bit. i havent really pushed it to the limit yet but its only been 2 weeks. i do highly re omend this sub if youre a bass lover like me you will not be dissapointed

Warning! Your house may collapse

I purchased This Sub To Replace my 100 watt Polk audio sub. And let me tell you, this thing shakes everything! I have the knob on 50% and that is already too much bass. I have high hopes that this sub will be the only sub I will ever need in a long time. The cabinet is beautiful, blends into any decor and the speaker itself in the copper color demands your attention. If you want a true cinematic experience and and want to give your music the thump that it needs then look no further. Can't go wrong with Klipsch !

Not bad for the price

i bought this sub to compliment my def tech 7002's with built in 12 inch subs. Yes, I like bass lol. It has pretty good output but not as accurate as the super cube technology of def tech. It has similar output to my old Cerwin vega LW-12, maybe I little more punch. If you are looking for volume this sub is a good option especially for 400 dollars. If you are looking for tight accurate bass, it may not be your best option, but at only 400 dollars it is not a bad sub at all. My room is roughly 15 x 24 and it has no problem with volume.

1st ever SubWoofer; Love it!

1. My 1st external SubWoofer. Love it.....
2. Like the adjustability. After Geek install I had to tone it down or would have blown windows and ears out.... The effect and quality of the unit is terrific.
3. This sure adds a lot to a home theatre system..... Thanks

Just love this subwoofer. I had a Cerwin-Vega 12" sub for 10yrs and was so upset when it died and I didnt think I would ever find one I like, but after reading the reviews for this and then hearing it in person, I can tell you its killer and well worth the price especially given the fact it should last you a good decade!!

Boom for your money

Give this review a quick glance.
Pros: The build quality, the sound, and occasionally the ability to shake the walls
Cons: Possibly the price, but its klipsch, so youre definitely getting your moneys worth from this.
Let me start by saying this sub woofer is currently performing flawlessly, better than I expected it to. Im more of a music listener than a movie watcher, and my music is heavy on bass and this thing has no issue keeping up. With the right tuning on your receiver you can get the exact sound you're looking for. Mind you, you are going to need some speakers that'll keep up with this. My family has had klipsch from the day I was born, some products older than me and are still performing as if they were brand new. Build quality is superb, and the sound is right up there with it. The price may seem steep but if you are looking for that extra boom in your music or your movies, look no further.

The sub-woofer has deep bass. I have it right in the corner of my living room and it can fill the whole room when you want it to. It has a gain knob in the back so you can adjust the amount of bass you want if it differs from song to song or turn it off completely if your're watching movies when the rest of the family is asleep. It also has a frequency pass through filter to adjust the max frequency that is routed to the sub-woofer instead of your main speakers. Truth be told the sub is probably overkill for my setup. The 10" would have been fine.

Got this sub in exchange for a Definitive Technology sub. Holy cow! For a consumer grade subwoofer this thing is really good at making the neighbors upset! I'm an audio geek, and love to play my music on the loud side. This sub pairs nicely with my Defenitive Technology Studio 55's and my Klipsch R15m's I'm driving it with a Marantz receiver. I have the gain on it set to about 1/8 up. This thing is very loud and very clear. I use it mostly for music. Even at high volumes there is zero distortion on the most bass demanding tracks. Very impressed with this subwoofer. In my opinion, it blows away many of the higher end offerings by Bowers and Wilkins and the like. Especially for the price. You just cannot beat it! I have only had it for just over a month, so I cannot report on it's longevity, but with a 5 year warranty, I feel that this speaker is in it for the long haul!
