Bought Dec 2013, worked for 8 months and then the touch panel died. Called LG to get warranty work done, and their authorized shop is now dodging my calls and basically refusing to fix. Try living with 3
Kids under 6 and NO MICROWAVE for 2 months. I've called LG and their cust service only says that "we called the repair shop, and If they don't call you within 2 days let us know." Well, I let them know and all they can say is "we will call them again and tell them to call you." Worthless and I am livid. The shop ignoring me is excel appliance on Orbit drive in Gaithersburg MD. I have never had customer service this bad in my life. If this is not resolved soon, I am not purchasing another LG appliance as long as I live- and I will certainly tell others about my experience. I cannot believe in the Wash DC area there is only one shop in My area that does these repairs. If an LG rep is reading this, please

Quit after 6 months

It worked fine for 6 months. Then it started acting strange. The lights would flicker sometimes, and the display clock would flicker and sizzle when in use. That seemed to stop, then about 30 minutes after I was done heating something up....IT TURNED ITSELF ON! I didn't believe it. And, the buttons wouldn't work to turn it off. I had to open the door.
I thought I was dreaming, then a minute later it did it again. I unplugged it waited. Plugged it back in. Then about 10 minutes later again. It has happened several times since.
I called LG and they said, "yes that happens sometimes." WHAT? That happens sometimes. I googled it, and yep it's on there.
DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE

Worked for 2 years

I purchased this oven under warrenty from an cheaper LG microwave that quit working after 3 months. This was a great microwave oven for the 2 years it lasted. One day it made a loud buzzing sound and smelled of burnt wiring insulation. I suspect the power transformer. Following the rule of "if the repair is half the cost of the unit then you should buy a new appliance" I purchased a different brand. I also purchased the extended 4 year warranty, something that I have never done before. If you dig into the reviews you will see that all brands have a problem with longevity. I think the manufs. should regroup and address quality and design over cheap production.

This microwave has several features we really like. First, it has a dark interior that does not show splatter like all the white ones. Second, LG rounded the backside, which makes the microwave easier to clean and less prone to collect food particles. Third, the display informs the user how to operate a feature of the microwave whenever you press a button. Fourth, it seems sturdy with no cheap look or feel. The only minor annoyance involves a beeper that periodically reminds the user to remove the contents until it senses the door opened.

Disappointing and not reliable.

Bought this model LG microwave in January 2013 as an appliance upgrade. Worked fine for only 3 months... then would not come on at all! Luckily we bought a Best Buy protection plan but upon returning it to the store, we had to exchange it for the same model because there were no other "full size" microwaves of a different brand in stock. The 2nd LG microwave worked fine for 9 months (until December 2014.) Had to again exchange it for the same LG model (no other full size brands in stock.) We'll see if this 3rd LG lasts--but if it doesn't and there are no other options, we'll ask for a FULL REFUND!! Thankfully we kept our 31 year old Panasonic full size microwave that still works fine & has never needed any repair! Apparently the quality of products built today are no match for the products of years ago!

My over the oven microwave went out the day before Christmas ... went to BB and got the LG ... worked for a couple of days but had strange noise ... by New Years it was not heating and the outside of the box was extreamly hot to the touch... called service and was told to have it fixed and I would have to pack up and take to service dealer... no way ... took back to Best Buy ... No Problems with return... but I did not get the sale price on the next one I purchased ... NOT LG oh... almost forgot ... the vents on the unit never worked correctly.. steam was rolling out as the door opened even when it was working

Well, this microwave was purchased on 11/1/12 and as soon as I walk into my door this unit was setup. After plugging it in, the microwave automatically kicks on. Numerous attempts to shut the unit off. So I call LG and speak to "Tony" (a service rep) who asks me some questions and then goes through a rundown of possible solutions. One of his solutions was to slam the door. After doing so, the Unit continued to run. "Tony" asks me to slam the door but even harder. Ok ... I was done after that. Staying away from LG altogether.

Woke up to beeping microwave at 4am. No explanation. Unplugged it, plugged it back in after scratching my head a few minutes, went back to bed, and again the beeping resumed and display asking to select cooking mode 1-4... Unplugged it again. Came back later to start my day and after plugging it in the keypad was unresponsive. I couldn't even set the clock. Called Best Buy - was told 15 day return policy. Go figure, the unit was purchased 17 days ago! Was told "Sorry dude, call LG." Called LG, explained entire keypad & buttons were unresponsive. Was told to reboot it (unplug for 3 minutes) still no dice, was told to call repair shop to schedule service. 1 year parts & labor should be covered, but 17 days? No more Best Buy and no more LG products for me again.

Very poor - not even one star. I originally chose the LG microwave because it was the one full size product that would fit in my space.
We had the first one about 9-12 months; got another. That one lasted less than a week. Thought it was just an aberration. Because of the warranty, got another at no charge. The fourth one lasted about a year. Not acceptable. The Best Buy warranty is.... not really that good. Leaves you without an oven for 2-4 weeks.
