Had it about 2 months. So far am very pleased.

I read so many negative reviews about even the most expensive and highest-rated refrigerators that I almost drove myself crazy, spending endless hours trying to determine if there were actually a refrigerator out there that was going to work! So far, I love this refrigerator. It has lots of space; I can move the shelves to accommodate taller items. Nice and quiet so far. I love the alarm that lets me know the door is not completely shut. Very well lighted inside. The drawers are very spacious for fruits, veggies, and meat products. I love the huge drawer that spans the width of the refrigerator which is perfect for party trays and/or other items that take up a lot of space. It keeps everything nice and cold. It also looks great -- much larger than I anticipated. I'd had a larger, side-by-side refrigerator before, and hated it. If I had a very large tupperware bowl, it took up the entire shelf. I constantly had to put items into a smaller bowl when the bowl was no longer full, in order to make more room. This refrigerator is wonderful, and I don't have to waste my time changing bowls or containers anymore. Hopefully, it will continue to run as well as it has been. I'm still rather traumatized from all the terrible reports I read online about every single refrigerator -- even those that were $3000 - $4000. The price on this was extremely reasonable. As of this writing, I could not be happier,

Great. But major (& easily fixable) design flaw
Posted by: Bebere from: on
This is so much better than the side-by-side of the same size that it replaced. Seems to have a lot more internal room than our old fridge, and is very quiet (though the sound it makes is a little more focused, making it a little more noticeable than it's low volume level would suggest). We very much like the layout of the drawers -- having a wide cold cuts drawer instead of the fairly common half-width hanging drawer helps keep everything on the shelves within easier reach; this fridge does not feel claustrophobic. The freezer drawers function very smoothly and feel solid. Easy to get at food, and we're finding that we really like having a bottom freezer with drawers, as they're easier to search through than shelves would be. We would like the top drawer to pull out a little farther, but anything we don't like about the fridge is minor.
On to the design flaw and solution. The left door has a retractable mullion that helps maintain the seal when the doors are closed. However, unless you open the door quickly, the mullion doesn't retract properly, and then it bangs into the other door when you try to close the fridge. Best Buy was excellent in sending someone over to fix it. They ordered a new mullion, which had the same problem, so we gave up on it. I fixed the problem completely by taping a thin metal strip (about the size of a small paper clip) onto the part on the top of the fridge interior that the mullion slides into when closing, thereby making the opening smaller. Now when opening the door, that smaller opening succeeds 100% of the time in getting the mullion to properly retract. I am astounded that LG would design something so doomed to fail, when redesigning a simple piece of plastic would have eliminated any likelihood of failure.
After having found an easy fix to this single major problem, there is no other fridge we would rather have.
One final note for those of you with small doors leading into the kitchen. We had to take the doors off to get the fridge into our kitchen, and discovered that the stated depth (sans doors) was understated by 1-2 16ths of an inch, as one bracket stuck out farther than advertised. We ended up having to chisel away at our door jamb to make room for it. We still have repairs to make, but still, no regrets having purchased this fridge.

Good Except the BUZZING
Posted by: USFBullsFan from: Tampa, FL on
I really wanted to love this refrigerator because I got such a great deal as an open box, but I couldn't get over the buzzing and had to return it. The buzzing is coming from the compressor and not only does the sound fill the kitchen, but also the open living area and can easily be heard in the adjoining bedroom. It's such a shame because it is otherwise relatively quiet with the fans, etc. I don't think it was defective because I had just returned another top of the line LG that did the same thing (I thought perhaps the first one was defective). LG says it's not normal, but it seems like it is and I've read blogs about it. Perhaps I couldn't describe the sound correctly to LG. I ran it for more than 24 hours and the buzzing did subside after running for a few minutes after it had been jostled during installation, but not nearly enough.
I purchased this because my 17 year old refrigerator was starting to vibrate causing an annoying tone. But that was nothing compared to this buzzing. Even my wife, who normally doesn't pay attention to any of this stuff and couldn't hear the vibration in the old fridge, was annoyed by this LG. Our old fridge is a welcomed relief by comparison.
- Besides buzzing, it's pretty quiet with the rest of the moving parts. I could still hear it in the bedroom at night beyond the buzzing, but it was very mild compared to most refrigerators. I even stuffed pillows and acoustic foam dampening material all around it. It helped, but we could still hear the buzzing.
- Decent price for a french door model.
- Capacity was decent.
- Ice-Maker worked well. It wasn't fast, but worked fine and produces nice cubes instead of the moon shaped ice. It's also well hidden and doesn't take up any freezer space.
- Buzzing obviously
- Freezer door squeaked quite a bit when opening and closing. The arms were freezing.
- Freezer was a bit of a pain to get to items down near the floor.
- I'm used to the fridge door closing with a gentle nudge. Have to close the left door firmly, then the right door firmly. Not a big deal, I suppose.
- Slide out drawers seemed a bit flimsy.
- Runs louder when Ice Maker Plus is turned on or when it is not fully cooled. But no big deal there since it's temporary.
Doesn't anyone make a refrigerator that doesn't distract from a tranquil environment anymore?

Very Happy! :)

Happy so far! Love the easy glide freezer door & freezer on the bottom. Really dig the LED lighting, makes everything look inviting. Good size refrigerator and freezer.
One small drawback with the French doors. Both doors have to open at the same time to use the glide and serve center drawer. But most of the time you can get to what you want with one door open for energy efficiency. No egg holder :( . Overall happy:)

Just a super refrigerator.

I am so happy with this purchase. This was a retirement gift to myself and it satisfies all the expectations I had for it. I wanted one of those "modern" fancy, new-fangled refrigerators... but it was going to require some research to find one that would fit the width-limited space in my mobile home. This was the ONE and it fit like a glove and, yet, it has way more capacity than my old frig. I also wanted my new frig to have the French doors and the bottom pull-out freezer. I decided I do NOT want the in door water/ice dispenser because I prefer a personal water bottle and, upon examining other refrigerators with that feature, I was shocked at how much interior space they consume. I can get to my water bottle (or 1 gallon milk OR 1 gallon Margarita Mix containers) in an instant thanks to the huge capacity of the inside doors. This is one of my favorite features. Another is the fact that I can open both doors and see absolutely everything at a glance. No more digging and squatting to find something buried in my old side-by-side. Terrific! I have had this 2 months now and I love it. I am just now getting in the habit of NOT pressing my ear to the frig to make sure it is running. It is that quiet! Did I mention how beautiful it looks in my kitchen! Oh, and the ice... lots and lots of perfectly formed ice cubes. In fact, the whole freezer drawer is so convenient and user friendly. Love the drawer. Finally, the price was right. I actually found this refrigerator advertised elsewhere $80 cheaper. Best Buy matched it. Sweet!

Excellent refrigerator for the money
Posted by: Sueg from: Staten Island, NY on
I needed a 33" refrigerator and was having a hard time finding a well reviewed one with ample interior space. This LG fit the bill and more. It's attractive inside and and out. The interior refrigerator space is well designed allowing maximum storage including a spot for trays of food. And it runs very quietly...barely a hum. My smallest complaint would be about the freezer size. It's adequate, but I do wish it was a little larger. That being said, I would highly recommend this product. I'm loving it

I picked a gem!
Posted by: happycamper from: on
After going through many reviews and inspecting refrigerators everywhere, I finally found a gem! I am pretty happy with my purchase. This LG 23.6 is the perfect size for my refrigerator space, it has ample storage and a great middle compartment that comes in handy to store many items. The pull out drawers are very spacious. I love the bottom freezer! It has plenty of room and makes great ice cubes as well. I have absolutely no complaints at this time. Hopefully this refrigerator will continue to please me for quite a while!

Great Unit but takes some getting used to
Posted by: Bugsy from: SE Wisconsin on
Our first French Door refrigerator. Would like it if the ice cube tray was not so large. It is soo big it limits the space in the freezer. The french doors are ok, but the door shelves are not adjustable enough to allow me to store taller bottles as in my old refrigerator. I also would appreciate being able to get to the vegetable drawer without having to open both doors.

Excellent except for a key feature
Posted by: fastguynum22 from: on
Excellent refrigerator, except the digital temperature display only allows you to set the temp; they don't display the actual temp like my GE did. This is a key feature and let you know when the refrigerator is not holding the desired temperature.
