I absolutely LOVE this washer! I will admit, I'm old school, I was not excited about going without the agitator or about going to a high efficiency machine because I have heard horror stories! I am so glad that I was able to get past that because this set is wonderful!
Myth #1 about the new washers, "You can't add anything to the load once it has started because the lid locks" BUSTED! The start button is also a pause button! Hit pause, the lid unlocks and you can throw in that sock you just found on the floor!
Myth #2: "HE Washers take like FOREVER to wash your clothes!"
This one is only partially true, yes, it does take longer than the old ones, but the dryer takes half the time thanks to the awesome spin cycle!! I mean the clothes come out nearly dry after the spin! So if you buy the set you will still be doing laundry in pretty much the same amount of time that you did before!
Myth #3: "HE Washers don't use enough water!" This one really had me worried, but thanks to LG putting the glass lid on the washer, you can see for yourself that not only do the clothes get wet enough, they really get moved around! I never expected a washer without an agitator to move the clothes around as much as this one does! WOW!
Myth #4: "HE Washers just don't clean as well" Yeah, this one is not true either! I mean, we don't roll around in mud every day, we just have normal wear, but our cloths come out clean and super fresh every time!
I highly recommend this set! I'm so glad I was able to talk my husband into getting it!

Soooo Much Better Than Front Loaders
Posted by: Robert2016 from: on
Struggled for 4 years with front loading washer fighting odors and replacing seals ($300 each seal). Clothes came out with musty odors. After several evenings of researching reviews, we decided on this LG for its ease of use, efficiency, and many features. Unlike several other top-loaders, my 5'4" wife could reach the bottom of this one without standing on a step ! (check this with any large-volume top loader before you buy!) After almost two months of use, we're absolutely delighted ! Clothes come out brighter, we use less detergent (no more pods!) and the "intelligent" features make washing a breeze ! Like us, you may find that the "short cycle" cleans low to moderate loads very well and saves both time and water ! This washer is highly recommended from a guy who researches a LOT before he buys !

Begs for more clothes

I Have to wonder if the negative things said about this, if the people didn't read the book about certain features. There are some features that require you only put a few garments in, therefore would be less water. Also, sometimes it will say a cycle will be long but turns out it isn't. I just put a load in that said it would take an hour, it took 40 minutes. The washer weighs and adjusts the preset cycle based on what you have put in it and how dirty it is.
I have been super happy with this washer and matching dryer set. The one thing I really like is each time you start the washer you are starting with a clean slate of options. What I mean is, if your teenager comes along after you washed something on a small cycle of hot water, they aren't going to throw a huge load of jeans in and get stuck with low water and hot because it needs a setting picked each cycle. You even have one button that you can program if you know your teenager needs a certain cycle every time. THey just need to know how to push one button. This is user friendly but if you are using the "coldwash" feature (not to be confused with the cold wash temp), read the book, otherwise don't complain if you didn't read what it does.
I would also like to add, I washed 2 big dog beds at the same time and could have honestly thrown a few towels in if I wanted. I did another load with 12 towels and the machine was daring me to add more to it. This holds a lot of laundry!

When reading all of the reviews I was not happy about buying any new machine and it was a very stressful search. I am very happy with this washing machine so far. I have only had it for a couple months however I have a large family and have done at least 60 loads including the King size bedding several times. Some reviews I read complained about soggy cloths, I have not had that experience as of yet. Some reviews claimed it was a loud machine, it is not completely silent however I went from a 15 year old Maytag so this machine is waaaayyy more quiet than that one. So far my cloths have all come out clean smelling fresh and have removed the stains. I was worried I may not be able to open lid and add extra stuff but it has a pause button so that is not a issue. The only reason I gave it a 4 is due to the cleaning cycles being soooo long (about an hour for heavy and 40 min for regular), but from my understanding that is the normal thing no for all new machines with the water saving efficiency. Overall I am very happy so far.

LG is now rated high on my list

I was recently looking for a new washer after having a washer technician come to my house to tell me the Whirlpool washer was beyond repair. I looked up LG and saw so many reviews. It was going to be a choice of front load or top load. I chose the later because I'm accustomed to front load washers. This washer is by far the best one I have ever had. It has a lot of washing selections and neat features like quick wash that I use a lot. Also, I do like how the detergent tray is implemented in this unit. Opposed to my old one that had detergent caked up in it and just looked nasty. Overall, this LG washer is quite, quick, and efficient while handling small loads, large loads, and even King size comforters. The drum is stainless steel and has a 10 year warranty on the motor which I love. The see thru glass top is very nice also, which allows you to see how its washing all the clothes. I was skeptical to see if the clothes would all come out clean and they did. LG has a mechanism set up where it rotates the clothes on the bottom to the top and vice versa. Very nice. I would definitely buy another LG washer for sure. For this being my first one, I'm sold.

Very, very disappointed.

Clothes on the top do not get wet during wash cycle even with the option for additional water. After 3 days, I'm still waiting for the LG rep to call with a service appointment. Yes, I purchased the extended warranty.

I was used to a traditional agitator washer. This one has surprised me. It is not listed as a noise reduction washer. . . but it is so silent and quiet. It took two wash loads for me to feel comfortable using it. The programmable button makes it functionally user friendly and it accommodates large loads. I'd suggest anyone in the market for one, to look at them in the store first. I am 5'4" and had I purchased a larger one I would not have been able to reach down to the bottom of the machine. This one is about the largest one I would recommend for shorter people. Love this machine!

We prefer the top loader since it is easier to load and does not drip on the floor like front loaders have a tendency to do. This unit is very large and easily can wash bulky items like comforters and mattress covers so no more going to the laundry mat for large items. The window is nice if you like to watch your clothes wash which initially we have done. As others have commented, it does use less water than the older washers but we have found it is more than adequate to get your clothes clean. The length of time it runs does adjust for the size of your load and we have not found it to be any longer than our old washer. It does have many cycle adjustments that can be used but so far we have just us normal and the bulky settings. We have been very please with our purchased.

Great unless you are shorter than 5'6"

I love everything about the washer except that it is hard to reach into the drum to get clothes out because it is so deep. I am 5'6" and have to tip toe to reach them.
