My favorite tv of all time.

Over the past month I have used (maybe abuse ) Best Buy's return policy. The reason was no matter what 4k HDR TV I went with, I always found something wrong. Generally it had something to do with the black levels. I tried the Vizio p series. The black levels were the best out of the ones I returned, but once I viewed HDR 4k content via Netflix. The screen would get dim.
Then I tried the Samsung 9000 series. I loved the color and HDR looked great. Yet the black levels showed great in dark scenes.
Finally I then tried the Sony 850 and 930 series. Yet again the colors were great but the black levels were poor. I was starting to feel like I would never be happy. I am a long time fan of plasma. From the Panasonic GT/VT series to the holy grail of tvs: the pioneer elite.
Now all that changed the day I brought home this tv. I didn't even have to adjust it (I generally get my TV's professionally calibrated) The black levels rival plasma. The colors in hdr content look amazing. I have the xbox one s. Playing Forza horizon 3 the clouds look lifelike. This tv is a must own for any situation. I will never own any type of tv but an oled. Oled is my new plasma.

I came to this TV from a 2010 Panasonic plasma. I have never been a fan of LCD/LED sets and hoped to hang on to the plasma a while longer. But it had begun to fail one column of pixels at a time and I decided it was time to look for a replacement. My criteria were basically the same as for my previous plasmas; no motion artifacts with live sports, good off axis picture brightmess, excellent color rendition, good black level contrast. I went to BB to compare sets and was blown away by the LG OLEDs. The set is better than plasma and LED in every way. Brightness was a surprise for me. It's more comparable to LED than to plasma. And the TV is actually quite good looking as well. The bezel is about 1/2 inch all around and the set is only about 1/4 inch thick from about halfway on up. When you look at it from the front all you see is screen. Electronics and speakers are in back on the bottom half and are a couple inches in depth. The only issue I have with it are some of the smart TV Apps. Amazon Prime will lock up the TV if left in pause for more than a few moments(requiring the TV to be reset) and Netflix will sometimes freeze up while playing.
It has both Dolby Vision and HDR10. 4K DV is incredible. Easily the best picture i have ever seen on a TV. If you have the money and want the best picture you can now get, this Is the TV.

My last TV was 1080p Panasonic plasma which was (at the time I purchased) the best display available for my home theater. Great picture/colors/black levels/shadow detail in a dark room. This OLED is better than the plasma in all aspects.
My wife was originally asking why I needed a new TV, but after watching 'KungFu Panda 3' last night she said "Great TV!'. If you knew the wife you would understand how big an endorsement this was.
My only complaint was with the BB 'free delivery'. The soonest delivery times available were 3 weeks out. Really!! BB really needs to fix this. Who wants to wait 3 weeks for a new TV ?!
My only complaint with the TV were the setup instructions. Since I didn't want to wait for delivery, I picked up my self. LG does not include a 'quick setup guide' for this TV- like every other manufacturer does with their components- and the little picture guide showing how to attach the base was for curved model, not this flat screen. Also the manual, remote and screws for attaching the base were buried in the bottom of the box. I honestly thought they had forgotten to include them until I removed the last piece of styrofoam from the bottom of the box. Pretty poor packaging and instructions for a high priced component. LG should take a look at how OPPO and Emotiva pack their components and include complete setup guides to see how to do it right. First impressions do last.
I probably should have given only 3 or 4 star rating because of the problems with delivery and packaging/instructions, but the picture is just sooo darned good I had to give it five stars.

A truly-professional television!

I own a computer consulting company, & am a video director & producer, so I have seen many, many televisions, but the LG OLED technology blows them all away! I'm still exploring the many features it offers, but I was easily able to tune the screen's performance to exactly what I prefer, connected it to all three of my LANs, & hooked up all four HDMI appliances with no problem. The perfect blacks & excellent dynamic color range is by far the best I've seen. Oh, one more thing: My company is a Samsung reseller, & I could have bought their top-of-the-line 4K TV for about 1/3 the price of the LG...but I didn't!

Best tv I have seen in 50 years
Posted by: Isiah from: on
I'm 66 years old. I have been chasing a picture that rivals what I see in a movie theater for 50 years. The closest I came is a tv I still have for the past 24 years. A Proton vt296. But now it has been beaten by the LG OLED B6P. This tv shows what the signal is like. If the tv signal is good and strong, the picture is accurate and beautiful filled with accurate colors, incredible depth and unbelievable black levels. If the signal has problems, it will display them. I found out Directv varies the signal quality from station to station. Network tv looks incredible. Cable stations vary. I'm not a salesman. I'm not interested in selling you a tv. That's up to you. But I can't think of a more accurate, beautiful, rich picture than this tv has on display. If you can afford it, buy it. You won't be sorry.

Holy guacamole the picture is unbelievable. Yes - the TV has Dolby Vision. The Dolby Vision lettering shows up at the top right hand corner of the TV screen for an instant letting you know you are watching in Dolby Vision.
You will be asked to download all the firmware upgrades when you power on the TV for the first time. You will need to update all of the APPS (Youtube, Netflix, Amazon).
This is the most awesome TV I have ever seen (B6 model). When I saw the LG 9500 series from 2015 and knew 2016 would have all of the bells and whistles (HDR-10 & Dolby Vision), it was a "no-brainer." This TV does not have 3D but I do not care to wear goggles or glasses etc. to watch a movie.
I am now at 2 weeks of TV heaven which is just in time for Father's Day and the NFL season and I am loving it. The only con I have noticed is the TV is bit wobbly when I move the TV stand. There is a bit of halo effect and I still have to tinker with the judder adjustment.
BestBuy dropped the price on this TV ($999.99) a few days after I bought it. I called on Day 9 of the 14 day period to ask for a "Price Match." My credit card was credited within 24 hours of the Price Match request ($1,079 including taxes). Sweetness.
If you are sitting on the fence post about this TV - just buy it. I have ZERO regrets buying this TV at $2,999.99

While the picture is good I am having a hard time dealing with motion blur. There are many settings on this TV and I am a bit overwhelmed. I will have to repost once I have everything figured out so for now 4 stars.

This LG OLED 4K tv is fantastic. The colors just blow away anything else in the market to date. The details on the screen are so sharp. It is super thin and the Geek Squad did a super job mounting it above our fire place.

COMPLETELY WORTH IT

Do what you need to to do to get this TV...donate a kidney if need be...worth every red cent. The depth and clarity is amazing and right out of the box only minimal changes need to be made. Hook up is a breeze, as long as you have some common knowledge of tv's and such. I can't speak for the sound quality since i have a 7.2 surround sound system. I love the remote with the pointer that pops up when you press a button on the remote to cycle through the various settings. I don't do any streaming through the tv directly either, i use my xbox one for that, but overall it's amazing watching F1 races are great and playing video games are as well can see so much more clearer than my 2009 Samsung LCD, not knocking the tv it was great for 7 years ago, but this this is amazing! This model does not have 3D, which I didn't want, so i cannot speak to that either...like i said completely worth it!!!
