I like the stove so far but lets start with the stuff I hate. The Huge control panel is very kool BUT its plastic and not glass. It takes 19 min for the convection bake to reach 400 degrees. The regular bake was 10 minutes to 400. I called LG 3 times and all I got was between 10-20 min is normal. I was going to return the stove until I found out all the new stoves are the same. I called Whirlpool to ask them and they explained that the energy conservation people recommended to save energy that the broiler element NOT be used during preheating . Dont make since to me . The ready alarm is kinda on the low side. The storage drawer needs more structure, it feels very flimsy. I did read some really bad reviews for LG stoves that scared me into purchasing a 219.99 5 year warranty for my 749.99 stove. The cost to me was a LOT . Broiler pans and the cord DO NOT come with the stove and are an extra cost. Cord was $23.00 I just kept my old pans so they were FREE :)
The likes :
This was the best designed control panel I seen on any brand with the HUGE digital control panel even though I wish it had glass touch tech.
The oven size is HUGE. I like the blue oven coating. It came with 3 wire racks. The burners are powerful and heat very fast. The oven cooked great. I'm still testing the convection setting .
Wish list :
I wanted 2 6/9 inch dual burners. You have to go to $1200 to get that. Full Glass touchscreen on control panel would be AWESOME. I called LG and they say glass is only on the GAS stoves. So far I like it and with the SUPER expensive best-buy 219.99 5 year warranty I feel a little better if it explodes i will get a new one.
PS ----- Best Buy says in their specifications that the stove has a 5 years limited: cook-top and radiant service units and according to LG that's not true. Warranty is only 1 year on both parts and labor .

Poor Oven Operation
Posted by: JMMUR from: on
Every review I have read here says this is a great oven. However, when my oven has reached the temp that I set it at, it beeps and the light flashes that it is ready for whatever I am baking or cooking to be inserted when in fact it is at least 100 degrees less than the desired temperature. It takes an additional 20 to 30 minutes for it to heat to the temperature I want. I have had an LG certified technician out to test the unit and his technical equipment verified what my concern was. I was told both by this technician & LG that I would just have to live with this and that's the way the new ovens are. I can't believe I've spent the kind of money I did on an oven that I have to play a guessing game with to know when it is ok to insert my food & if my food is properly cooked. I was warned not to buy any LG product and I guess I should have listened. Very, very disappointed not only with the product, but with LG's customer service!! I think tis unit is a lemon.

Worked great for 5 years.

This lg stove worked well for 5 years. Now I'm getting a f7 error after doing a self cleaning. Appears to be a some kind of control board issue. The oven doesn't work anymore! Typical for corporate America these days. Can't have anything last more than 5 years. Other things I don't like is the paint chips and scratches easily. For 800 dollars I'm sure you could spend less to get the same results.

Oven cooks fine
Posted by: Nancy from: on
Very unhappy with the glass door. When you clean the outside of the oven water can drip between the inside and outside glass and you can't get to it. There should be a warning. Now I have a drip between the two pieces of glass.

Conventional/Convection oven is a nice feature
Posted by: redrosebud1 from: Brighton, Michigan on
I had to replace my 15 year old Whirlpool electric conventional stove. I choose this LG LRE3083ST conventional/convection oven. The first thing I noticed is that the LG cook top has a shiny surface compared to a more of a mat finish on my old Whirlpool. This shinny surface is not forgiving for finger prints or any slight greasy messes etc.... So, before using your stove, buy a bottle of the cook top cleaner and clean your glass cook top with it, (recommend in the user manual). It primes cook top to better, I think it has some wax to shine the stove top and to handle grease splatters clean-up. However, I did noticed that I did still have to put some elbow grease when cleaning up cook top even after 1st use. For the most part you can use baking soda and hot water to clean cook top, then use cook top cleaner in between cleanings to give it a more waxy shine when needed, (YOUTUBE LINK: how to clean stove top with baking soda. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjVxtKgy8gI)
I also noticed that this cook top heating elements are more powerful than older oven, I would usually have my burner set at #7 or #8, with this I had to cut back to #3 or #4 for same result. My husband learned the hard way when making bacon, with-in minutes the house was smoking with burnt bacon having heating element set at #8.
Also, I like the fact that I can choose between the “bake” setting and “conventional bake” setting. I make my own breads and bake a lot. Bake setting will allow you to set oven temp from 170°-550° the fan is not on as often, and you cook/bake as usual with a conventional stove; whereas the convectional bake setting has oven temp from 300°- 550°, fan will run more often and it will also automatically convert your oven temp 25% lower because convection cooking will cook your food faster. I baked my bread at 350° “bake” setting and it came out perfect! Oh, and this oven even has a proof setting to rise your bread too! I thought that was kind of neat.

Terrible repair rate
Posted by: Carolp from: on
I have had this range for 2.5 years and now it is junk. I had to have the glass top replaced 5 days after warranty ended for $500 and now at 2.5 years it would cost another $800 to replace the broken electronics, so I will be looking for anything but LG. When contacted LG would do nothing about it.

Had an issue with cooktop within 1 month.
Posted by: JamsJoy from: NC on
Within 1 month the caulking was buckling in a couple of places on the cooktop. Because we do not live within the city of purchase, It took a couple of calls to the LG customer service to get a technician to come out. Once we got someone scheduled, we were told the date of the service call would be with an arrival time between 8-5. Might have considered other options had this been known. However, the technician arrived around lunch time and ordered another cooktop and will have to come back out to install it. Another day of waiting…Except for this issue we really like the range.

3rd try is the charm....
Posted by: Katjay from: on
This is the 3rd stove I have purchased in the last 2 years... 1st one was a Kitchenaid which died after 2 years (main control board went). 2 nd stove I bought was the Samsung... I had it replaced with the LG. While I loved the Samsung the stovetop scratched too easily. I loved the textured glass top on this stove. It doesn't show the dirt as easily. It's taking awile to get used to the digital controls, but they work just fine. The oven works great (although I think the Samsung oven was better). The stove plays a song when the oven is preheated or when the timer goes off... It's a little weird and my kids laugh when they hear it, overall happy with my purchase!

Thrilled with my purchase!
Posted by: Blumax from: on
I have had my stove for 6 weeks and I am very pleased with my selection. It was a bit intimidating, but the instruction manual is very helpful. The burners are much more efficient than my old ceramic topped stove and things cook much quicker. The oven is extremely spacious and with the convection, multiple trays of cookies baked evenly. I have not had to clean the bright blue interior, yet, but was able to remove pizza drips, easily, with just a damp paper towel. So far, I couldn't be happier.
