Good value for replacing aging refrigerators
Posted by: NAAN from: on
The door in door and the new compressor were the main reason we bought this to replace our existing 10 year old Kenmore. Functionally the refrigerator works perfect. Control panel readouts are great.
However some thimngs to lookout for:
The installtion folks did not bringa water filter (Approx 60.00)
Main Shelf Height adjustment - practically nonexistent - grade 1 out of 5. You need to rearrange and take one main shelf out to handle taller items. (miss my Deli pull out drawer)
Door shelf heights - non adjustable
Outer Door in Door latch - still not closing after 1 month of use. Was told that it would work after a week or two. Have to push the door in manually everytime to latch it.
Rated Capacity is same as my old one, however this seems lesser in capacity
Icemaker works great, but small reserve

Limited shelf adjustability
Posted by: JJB70 from: on
2 unpleasant surprises: limited shelf adjustability and BestBuy refused to connect the water line. Due to limited inventory, we had to buy this model sight unseen (because we really wanted the door-in-door in a side-by-side configuration); we did not want the bottom freezer drawers that you will find in most models that feature a door-in-door. There is very limited adjustability of the shelves, typically each shelf has only 2 height levels. The bins in the door-in-door have no height adjustment; but there may be enough of them for us to get used to it. The other surprise: the BestBuy delivery team refused to connect the existing copper water line so we had to pay for a plumber to do it. You also have to get used to closing the door-in-door firmly with a little extra push or else it does not seal tightly.

awesome fridge! love how cold it gets! the only issue i ran into was I didn't realize is that you need to add another inch or two to the width because how the doors open, if it doesn't have that clearance it won't open all the way.

When we started looking for a new fridge, we wanted to make sure we thought of how we would use it. With a small child, we know he likes to access the fridge, and the french one we had did not allow him access. This one was perfect for him and us. We love the access panel, but it sometimes does not close and does not indicate it is open. The ice is good, but it does not have a lot of storage, so if you use a lot of ice, you might want to find another unit. We are super happy!

After looking extensively for a great refrigerator, we located this LG on the market. I found this same model in three other places -- but Best Buy had the best price, the best and quickest delivery, and the best installation by far. The big box home stores could not compete! The size and perks of this machine put it on the top of the chart for customer satisfaction. I can attest to that!!!!

Good refrigerator with only one bad detail
Posted by: monte from: on
Beautiful and comfortable refrigerator. doors close easily and divisions are perfect. I like this model.
the drawback is the poor design where water is obtained because splashing water outside. you must be very careful using the water area.

The thru door is perfect.
Water dispenser is on the outside so large containers can be filled easily.

This refrigerator was amazing. It has amazing storage and is perfect for every need. I was looking for a refrigerator when ours recently broke, and i really thought this was an amazing refrigerate when i saw it. It was!!!!!!!
This fridge met every expectation and need. I recommend it to everybody..... although it doesn't have much space fro ice, so if you use a lot of ice that may be a problem, but i think that it was amazing overall.

Was a bit hesitant because of some reviews but am very happy with fridge. The doors are nice and heavy, the outside door locks great, ice and water doesn't shoot to the floor like some said. Tons of storage. Love it!

I have had this refrigerator for 15 months.
The compressor died at 11 months 25 days. Fixed under warranty.
now at 15 months, freezer is not cooling again. I had to fight tooth and nails to get LG to fix this new issue. This time the heater went out.
Apparently there's a cycle where a heater kicks in and does a defrost and that's no longer happening.
so at 15 months, the compressor went out, the heater went out.
Folks that's comparable to a car's engine and transmission going out.
Pls, Pls, Do NOT buy LG for appliances. They are great for electronics (TVs, phones), but very poor for appliances.
