Black Sabbath fronted by Dio, at their very best!
Posted by: Fiend from: Pennsylvania on
This is one of the classic, vintage, true Metal albums that has stood the test of time. It sounds like a cliche, yet we are looking at the immortal Black Sabbath here, fronted by the legendary Ronnie James Dio. "Live Evil" has a chilling ambiance that seems to seep out at you throughout every song. After all these years, I still cannot resist this "Live Evil" album, it seems to gain Metal strength each time I listen to it. Released in December of 1982, this version of Black Sabbath; Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Vinny Appice on drums, perform their melting pot of Metal. Early Sabbath tunes are on "Live Evil" as well, with "Iron Man", "Children of the Grave" and the always eerie "War Pigs". The overall sound quality is tremendously upscale, the production is unparalleled. There is such a legitimacy and historical appreciation for this Black Sabbath lineup on "Live Evil". This is a live Metal album that belongs in every Heavy Metal collection of music. If you are pondering the purchase of "Live Evil", do not hesitate any longer.... you have to own this album that in essence, carved out the path for Metal in the early 1980's.
