Great universal remote

Great for advanced installations

Posted by: Ei4115 from on 03/16/2016I replaced an old harmony remote with this and it's great. I have my DVD player and dvr in a closet and the IR blaster works great. The RF is much faster than the previous model and this can also be controlled with the harmony app on my iPhone and iPad. The battery life is a little bit shorter than the older version but that's to be expected with the larger touch screen. It easily lasts multiple days without charging so there would be no problems if I charged it nightly like I do my cell phone. Overall a great product. It was worth the price for the upgrade.

Life, Simplified

Posted by: JayThirteen from on 03/11/2016I have an intermediate home theater set up and a few connected home items such as Nest and Philips Lighting. I had no less than 6 remotes, all controlling their own device. This remote has been a life saver. Why you ask? Because when my wife or mother-in-law can't work the plethora of remotes on the mantle in order to get a movie on for my kids to watch before they have nuclear meltdowns, it would be my life at risk the moment I walked in the door. This remote has erased all anxiety about working my TV. It was super easy to set up with my iPhone and on the computer, and any trouble shooting I had to do was simple and done from the remote. My only complaint is that the hard keys are not backlit. That would be a nice feature on a $300+ remote.

Good, not great

Posted by: LakesideMom from on 03/07/2016The Geek squad programmed this remote for me so I can't speak to the ease or difficulty of setup. I bought this remote because my components are in a cabinet behind closed doors. It works well through the doors. The problem with it is that when you skip back and forth or rewind/ fast forward, quite often the audio can't keep up and you lose sound for a few seconds (maybe as long as 30 seconds?). This is really annoying. So it works but has it's issues.
