Logitech Illuminated Keyboard: This keyboard's backlight makes typing easier in dimly lit spaces, and it responds to the light of the room to keep lit at appropriate levels based on its environment. The Incurve keys are comfortable to use, and the unit can be recharged easily with the included micro-USB cable.

The best keyboard I've ever used
Posted by: SpeedingBullitt from: Tooele, UT on
I purchased this keyboard to replace an extremely flimsy one that came with my computer. I had originally had my eye on the older Logitech wired illuminated keyboard, but decided to give wireless a chance since the shape of the keys made it a little more comfortable to use.
Once I got it home, I opened the box, and I was extremely impressed with the packaging. The way this thing was packed, I felt like I really had something special. hooking it up to the computer was a breeze. I just plugged in the wireless usb adapter, and it started working right away. It did not come with an installation disk, but the driver was easy to download and install from logitech's website. I have had no issues with connectivity at all, and the range is great. I've used it from across the room without any trouble at all.
The hot keys integrate seamlesly with Windows 7, and when you press the volume controls, they actually display the volume level on the screen. Additionally, all of the hot keys are customizable.
Illumination is perfect. There are four levels of brightness. The only drawback I have found is that when you wake the computer up or reboot it, the illumination resets to the lowest setting to save battery power. This is not a big dealthough, as the illumination control is right there on the keyboard.
I love the feel of the keys on this keyboard. They feel solid, and have just the right amount of travel. the key tops are slightly contoured and feel great under my fingertips
The life of the rechargable batteries seems fine as well. I've used this keboard for several days, and the battery indicator still shows a full charge.
Overall, this is one of the only computer peripheral purchases I've made that I feel completely satisfied with.

LOVE this keyboard!

This is one of the BEST devices! 1) It has a range of at least 20-25 feet from the transmitter, which is a tiny little USB device that plugs into your computer. 2) Its intelligent in that it turns off the backlighting after a short period of time, and it senses when you get your hand near it (you dont have to hit a key to get it to light up) 3) the backlighting is GREAT for low light situations (I use it in nighclubs to run my computer graphics shows on a projector) 4) The built in battery goes forever on a charge (I still havent had to charge it up and I have been using this for several hours of continuous use). 5) This model didnt come with a mouse, however I purchased a Logitech wireless mouse, and the mouse works with the same transmitter. You need to download the software and install it b4 the mouse works, but that wasnt a big deal. The keyboard worked with Windows 7 out of the box without installing the software.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this keyboard to others..

Wait for a sale

What can you say about a keyboard? This is thin, flat, light and has good reception. I like the on/off switch for the keyboard and the light. The light is only really useful at night, and I do worry about the paint wearing over time leaving only bright keys without letter designations.
The extension cable for the receiver is nice. This installed on my Windows 7 notebook automatically and without issue. Connecting and disconnecting as needed has not been an issue either.

Adjustable Brightness, Hand proximity detection

I recently purchase Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard at sale price. I think its one of the best keyboard a ever owned. I recently couple logitech keyboard in the past including MX series. But most keyboard are not backlit keys, unless you get gaming G series which I am not a gamer. This perfect for average user without all other extra functions. This keyboard is Wireless, Rechargeable battery, Laser-etched, backlit keys that are bright enough to let you type in the dark. with 4 levels of light illumination from low to super bright backlit. The package includes Wireless illuminated keyboard, nano receiver, usb cable and usb cable dock with manuals.
Adjustable 4 level of brightness.
( Hand proximity detection) Built in sensor within few seconds the keyboard not use it will automatically turn off lighted keys to conserve battery and when it use just wave you hand on keyboard and keys will light back up.
Fast, easy recharging feature: Battery life is also very good on moderate use and I can be use with usb to my pc to charge keyboard while in use.
Cons: None on the keyboard, maybe pricey for this model.

Makes typing pleasant
Posted by: mediocrechris from: Kentucky on
This keyboard is the only wireless keyboard I've ever used, and I like it. It comes with rechargeable batteries and a USB cable to charge the keyboard. It has to be recharged at least every 10 days and frequently more often than that, especially if you want very bright illumination. In fact, if you want the brightest illumination, you must keep the keyboard plugged into the computer constantly, otherwise the batteries will drain in like 10 minutes. This keyboard is not for someone who wants the keyboard to be constantly illuminated. Because it's wireless, the illuminated keys will self-extinguish if you move your hands away from the keyboard for more than 5 seconds. If you want a keyboard that is always illuminated I recommend you buy a wired illuminated keyboard instead of a wireless keyboard. The keys are recessed into the keyboard giving the keyboard a low profile, but also making it extremely difficult to find some rarely used keys by feel, like the Esc key. I really, really, REALLY like the sound that the keys make when you press them, it is very quiet and even sort of soothing. Those of you who have typed on an old keyboard that makes a popping noise when you press the keys will really appreciate the quiet of this keyboard. This keyboard currently retails for $100. There is no way I would spend that much on it again because I'm learning that if you know how to type, the main purpose of an illuminated keyboard is for cosmetic purpose and for only a few dollars more than this keyboard's MSRP you can get a fancy, albeit wired, gaming keyboard that allows you to change the keyboard's colors and has other flashy features and allows the keyboard to be illuminated at all times. Conclusion, this keyboard is very nice but don't buy it if you want a keyboard that stays illuminated 24/7, and if you're already a proficient typist, you will rarely, if ever, need illuminated keys.

An amazing wireless keyboard
Posted by: Keyan from: on
This is a great keyboard for anyone who is looking for both wireless and a backlit keyboard. It uses an internal battery and charges from your PC using a micro USB cable. So far I have left it in the ON position most of the time and the battery finally needed charging for the first time since I opened it (I didn't charge it right out of the box) after about two weeks. Outstanding battery life.
The keyboard has secondary uses for the F keys that can be mapped to various shortcuts in the software. Pressing the FN key in addtion to one of the F keys will activate the secondary feature. There is also one dedicated shortcut key that defaults to the calculator but can also be mapped to something different.
The feel of the keys is perfect. They have just the right amount of travel distance and provide a good tactile feedback. The backlighting is also very nice, it even detects when you hand is over the keyboard and turns on the backlighting which is a very handy feature.
The USB stub reciver uses Logitech's latest technology which can connect up to 6 devices to the single reciver so you don't need to fill up your USB ports with a bunch of recivers.
This is one of Logitech's premium keyboards and it shows. Wireless, backlighting and a perfect feel to the keys makes this a great option for someone looking for a high end wireless keyboard.

Great keyboard from Logitech.
Posted by: ChrisInClayton from: Clayton, NC on
Over the past several years, I have owned many Logitech products. From a computing standpoint, I only purchase Logitech because I have had such good results. From keyboards, to mice, to web cams and other items, I go out of my way to purchase Logitech.
My first illuminated keyboard was the USB wired Logitech keyboard which I loved. As soon as the wireless model came out, I jumped all over it.
The battery capacity is great, the illumination is right where I would expect, and the feel of the keyboard is spot on to what I wanted.
If I were to find a flaw, it would be the motion sensor for the keyboard. It dims when your hands are not near the keys, so when you move to the keyboard, it illuminates. Personally, I prefer the keyboard to have a light sensor that would turn on when the ambient light reached a certain threshold. Not a big deal at all.....just trying to find a flaw.
I recommend this wireless keyboard 100%.
PS - If you want to buy the USB wired version, I will sell mine for cheap. :-)

Great wireless keyboard
Posted by: MissFJ from: Los Angeles, CA on
I recently got this keyboard and it turned out great. It's comfortable to use, The key back lights are great for using in the dark and there's no need to press any key to turn on the back lights. The keyboard weight keeps it in place so you won't have to switch position. It also has a turn on/off button, so it saves battery usage. It also turns down automatically in case you forget. The only down side so far is that it has a shiny design so you have to clean constantly. It all works perfectly. Another little down side is that you have to connect it with an usb cable to recharge it and have to keep your receiver connected if you're using it and charging it at the same time, so there are 2 usb ports on use for the same device. Overall it's a great keyboard, get one!!

This keyboard is one of the best i have had. I used to be a fan of the Microsoft products but recently have needed to buy new items and Logitech seems to be the #1 player in peripherals. The backlit are awesome, i work from a home office and dont have the best lighting so thats a plus. Its quiet and looks nice to boot.
