In not new to these types of cameras. I’ve had several of the following
Now I have 5 of the Logi Circles. Great camera so far. They need to add customization (zones, IFTTT, PC/MAC access, text/email snapshots and more cloud options) and this could be a home run. Never really cared about the battery portion of this camera as others may. Once I position it, there it will stay.
If Nestcam / Dropcam offered the same free cloud option, then I'd go with them. Nestcam shot themselves in the foot with the forced pay option cloud recording. There is basically on two tiered options (expensive and super expensive) with Nestcams.
Reliability with these have been great so far. I have mine connected to my 5G wifi and they have a weak signal with the camera downstairs at the opposite end of the house. As to be expected I guess with the 5G distance limitations and if it becomes an issue, I can always pick up a booster if needed.
Clarity and audio is great. It only feeds at 720p which is sufficient but would want the option to pick 1080p as most other cams do including Nest. My bandwidth can handle 1080p easily and should be my choice. Hopefully this will be addressed in the near future.
What keeps this from being 5 star and a SERIOUS security Camera like the Nest
-No custom Zones to minimize false alerts
-No Email/Text Snapshots
-More cloud storage options

Not a security camera but has potential
Posted by: amansk from: on
The packaging was easy to take apart. The camera turned on straight away and already had a charge. The app was not easy to find in the play store - I had to type logi circle instead of just circle. The app was quick to download and the connected to the camera. I thought it would somehow pick up my Wi-Fi login so I wouldn't have to run to my router to get the long password (yes, I use the default Verizon password). Once I gave the app the password, the camera connected straight away.
I worried the image was grainy to begin with. I didn't realize I had forgotten to remove the small film over the camera! Film removed, the image looked great. It is 720p and gives a great picture even when my phone is not connected to the Wi-Fi.
My 3 year old quickly decided it didn't need to be on charge anymore and took it off the cradle. To my surprise, it maintained the connection well, no issue. The camera moves on its pivot (up and down only) and stays in place, no rotation though. The lag seems to be around 1 second. It took me a while to figure out I needed to swipe left on the screen to access the settings.
The charging base has an 8 foot power cable, allowing this camera to be positioned in the corner of a room high up away from kids hands. The base itself is magnetic, we have a kids kitchen in the corner of a living room which has metal screws, the camera almost locks itself in position over that screw which means it’s at less of a risk of being moved out of view.
The camera relies on seeing movement in front of it to trigger an event. I have mostly pointing into my living room where my dog is with a lot of foot traffic and this triggers 100s of alarms a day. I am using the native android app which gives me a notification on my drop down screen, but selecting said notification doesn’t take me into the app. I have to still select the app on my homepage to login.
The app once set up on your phone doesn’t require any more logins. I use a Samsung Smart cam and have to hit 3 different buttons to eventually get to the camera. To get to the camera is a lot quicker and smother in the circle app. I also have a Belkin camera and the iBaby camera, of which, the iBaby app is the only one that runs in the background constantly without draining the battery, allowing us to hear noise from the baby room. Neither the Circle, Belkin nor Samsung do this. The app itself can only be used in horizontal mode and lacks a web app function. My phone lives in its docking station so removing it and rotating it to view the camera seems more of a hassle than anything.
After the initial app update, a function came up to do what seem to be downloading an event. I have done this several times and still cannot figure out where this downloads to on my phone.
The speaker compared to other cameras is a bit weak. I found myself shouting at my phone to get a decent sound from the camera. The Samsung camera is much louder.
The automatic night vision needs to kick in a lot sooner. I found myself shutting lights around the house as they were reflecting on a wall and the camera sensed it was “daylight” and refused to go to night vision, even though half the screen was dark.
The day brief function is great, starts at midnight and gives you an accelerated view for 30 seconds. I haven’t figured out how it selects the footage but it does show me what my kids and dog are up to when I am in another room, for the most part. No sound though… 24 hour storage is great, and free, which is a great package to include. I am trying to find a solution where I can record footage to a server, this camera will not support that functionality.
The battery life is not great. At most, 3 hours before it died (not 12 as per the box). It took well over 14 hours to get back to full charge.
I would not recommend the use of this camera as a security camera. There is no activity zone, motion sensor customization, sound alerts – you need to rely on the app to make this decision for you.
I think as a first generation camera from logitiech, it’s a great camera. I love the simplicity around this camera. I have tried about 6 other manufacturers and this by far was the easiest to set up, best app for getting to the camera straight away and has a great picture. The restrictions in the app let it down. This is essentially a webcam with night vision which can be used to keep an eye on the house, with a 135 degree view. Knowing logitech, they are already working on a 2nd or even 3rd generation circle camera.

Fun & easy-to-use wifi cam for the home!
Posted by: Jessie from: on
The SETUP was simple, quick and easy as long you know how to find and get the FREE app from the iOS App Store. By now, Logi Circle app should be easily found but on launch date I had to search for the full "Logi Circle" phrase to find the app. Once the app is installed, the setup instructions waere straight forward and I had to reset the Circle for the device to be found on the app. Overall, about the same level of ease as Nest Cam.
The ASSEMBLY was straight forward but it had more parts than the Nest Cam. I really liked the magnectic detachable base and it was fun for the kids to find all the surfaces that the Circle could stick to. The conduction charging loop fits between the Circle and the magnectic base so you can add it only when you need to charge it. Otherwise, the Circle runs on built-in battery and is portable around the house!
The APP USER INTERFACE was intuitive. By far the best part of the Logi Circle experience.
1) Slide from the right and the menu come up. The battery status and wifi connection strength is clearly display on top. You can flip the display 180 degrees if you have the Circle hanging upside down. Adding and removing addition Circles is easy. You can access your account and change settings and turn on/off all from this menu. These are just a few features out of many that really set apart from Nest Cam.
2) The APP load into LIVE mode at startup. You will see the LIVE icon on the middle right region. Scroll up and you'll go into replay mode by 3-4 minute segments. Each replay video is zoomable. Video quality is not the best but I prefer Logi Circle's smooth video replays that I can still make out everything and zoomable than non-working laggy videos from Nest Cam.
3) Below the LIVE mode button is the DAY BRIEF mode. Tap the screen and it'll generate a 30 second video summarizing everything that has gone on since MIDNIGHT. *I LOVE THIS FEATURE* because I can see my family especially our 15-month baby running around the kitchen and everyone following behind her footsteps to make sure she doesn't bump into things or do something unsafe. I DO THIS every few hours at the office and always get a good laugh.
4) In the lower left corner is the PRESS-TO-SPEAK button. You can communicate directly with the room through Logi Circle's built-in mic and speaker. The delay is minimal and usually noticeable at 1-second. I was amazed Logitech pulled it off. Nest Cam failed miserably at this with long delays and more lag.
The INFRARED NIGHT MODE is a neat feature and work as well as Nest Cam but I don't see so much of it as night time segment of the DAY BRIEF are usually shortened by Logitech from no activities in the room. The INFRARED sensor kick in as soon as the room is in total darkness and remain on until the room is fully lit.
The VIDEO PLAYBACK QUALITY is always smooth but lower resolution then Nest Cam. Maybe 720p or less but it didn't bother me from live streaming it on the iPhone 6 Plus. I was able to scroll back to earlier times in the day and watch each 3-4 min playbacks with a 1-2 second loading time. I was impressed by the quick preview of each recording like Netflix's fast-forwarding.
The DESIGN was well thought out. It looked unobstrusive and friendly. It was easy to forget that it was in the room. The magnetic base let it stick to the top of our kitchen window frame and the wide angle it had covered the whole kitchen and breakfast area. The USB power cord was also long enough to run along the window frame.
CONCLUSION: I highly recommend the Logi Circle to anyone that can relate to a similar situation. I am happy with Logi Circle's ability to record 24-7 and load up the LIVE view on my iPhone whenever I have LTE or WIFI. The DAILY BRIEF takes just a few seconds to generate and always an entertaining 30-second clip to watch. The Circle is portable and easy to setup and the built-in battery let it just sit around the house without having to connect it to any power source. I hope Logitech continue to release more updates to its APP. My two gripes with the Logi Circle iOS app is the replays are only labeled by TIME of DAY and no DATE so it is easy to get lost on which day I was viewing. I would also appreciate a web version to access the Circle streams from my laptop.

I picked up this camera last week so I could use it at my house to talk to my family and also use to view what is going on outside the house by simply moving the camera to another location. The set up was super easy and I love the daily recap function where you can get a 30 second summary. Zoom function and night vision are great and being it is all controlled with an app and your smartphone Logi really thought this product through. My brother in law just picked one up and he loves it too.

Excellent so far

This camera replaced an Amazon Best Seller camera which was a disaster: complicated setup, losing connection, a buggy battery draining app. The Logi Circle is everything I needed and so far, it works flawlessly. Here are the main highlights:
- Free 24 hour cloud storage. It stores what it considers the most important moments, probably triggered by motion.
- A 30 second high speed video resuming the main activity in the last day (from midnight). What is there is chosen automatically, and 30 seconds is more than it seems because it is in high speed. It looks kinda funny.
- You can record and store videos and still photos on your phone in real time.
- Free push notifications when motion is detected.
- Good night vision.
- The app is good, no battery drain, simple enough.
- It just works.
- Simple! It took me more than an hour to set the old cam up. This one did not even have a manual in the box nor it needed one. It took a minute.
- It came with resolution limited to 720 but the firmware upgrade raised it to 1080. You can choose the resolution among 480/720/1080. You can save bandwidth with 480p if needed.
I do not think that it is powered by induction. I can see the contacts on the bottom, which is a good thing.

I bought 2 of these. 1st one worked for about 2 weeks then stopped other one charger didn't work. Going to call company on Monday and see what they can do. Also the charging sucks. Always needs to be on the charger. Can not last for more than 3 hours full charged. $435 down the drain

Great camera to be extra set of eyes

The Logi Circle has been put at my disposal by the Review Club for testing purposes without any obligation but to provide my opinion on this product.
I decided to use the Logi Circle to monitor and capture any outdoor activity occurring within the Logi Circle's viewable range when the device was placed in a window overlooking my frontal porch area.
Initial setup was quick and easy – only taking minutes from the time I opened the box until the time the Logi Circle was in operational status with my home Wi-Fi router and smartphone. I fine-tuned the placement of the Logi Circle then left it alone to do its work.
I was curious to view the Logi Circle's live presentation on my smartphone. I was impressed with the wide range-of-sight captured by the Logi Circle. I was able to view my entire front door/front porch area, driveway, front yard, plus areas beyond my household property – with no visual distortion at all.
I found the the Logi Circle to be really good at capturing actual movement of animate objects (such as individuals, automobiles...) while ignoring non-event items such as tree limbs being blown by the wind and similar.
The Logi Circle has built-in night vision capabilities to allow it to capture and record motion detected in darkness. In my application of the product, the built-in night vision function was actually a hindrance to viewing at night. I determined the root cause of this to be the several layers of glass in my storm window. I decided to test the camera's ability to function at nighttime with the night vision disabled – problem solved – the Logi Circle worked just fine without night vision enabled.
The Logi Circle captures and records each incidence of detected motion. Each incidence can be viewed at the user's convenience by viewing each incidence one-by-one on your smartphone. Or, alternatively, there is a “Day Briefs” icon that can be touched to replay the previous 24-hr period's incidents of detected motion in a 30-second recap. Each type of playback (individual events and “Day Briefs”) can be saved to your smartphone.
There was a day when I had to travel out-of-town but was expecting UPS delivery. Although many miles away, I was able to pull out my smartphone and verify exactly when the UPS driver made delivery. This enabled me to then make a phone call to a neighbor to pick up and hold for me the delivered-package until I returned home the next day.
Overall, I was pleased with the Logi Circle as it sufficiently-handled the applications I was seeking to use it for. There are many other potential applications of the Logi Circle beyond what I used and tested it for – it would just take time to test the product in various other environments and applications, and to measure and analyze performance in those other environments and applications. But for my primary intent of usage, the Logi Circle was satisfactory and I would recommend to others to purchase.

Set up could not have been easier. Love being able to see my family and talk through the camera when I'm away from home! Sleek design and can easily move the camera from room to room.

My husband and I bought this camera to be able to watch our dog while we are away from the house. We wanted to be able to not only see her, but talk to her if she was doing something bad (chewing on carpet). This has exceed our expectations for such a reasonable price. Will definitely purchase another when need be and recommend to others.

I feel more secure with this in my home!
Posted by: SheriD from: on
So I have had this camera for about a week now. Set up was incredibly easy. The app for it is just as easy to use. I have thoroughly enjoyed having this camera.Especially being a mom to 2 autistic boys who love their space but still need an eye kept on them. I am able to talk to them through the camera. It helps them feel more safe knowing I am just a couple of taps away. With this camera, you also have the ability to download clips. I love that. Perfect for memories without having to grab a camera and you do not have to catch them while staring down in a camera. You are there and involved in the memories being made. There is an option for day brief, which is a 30 second preview on the most important parts of your day. Another awesome thing about this camera is it is wide angled. I can get a whole view of a room and it is clear. I have the ability to hang the camera on a wall or stand and angle in any direction that I want. I love the charger on this. It's incredibly unique and long enough to use the camera while it is charging. I do not have to worry about it coming unplugged as it sits on the charger and also has a magnetic stand where you can mount it to anything. If you ever need to change something, there is a small reset button on the camera and you can go through the simple set up again. This does run off of wifi so I feel really secure in that and so do my boys. Just make sure you have a strong connection. Battery life has lasted me a little over 3 hours in a room with something constantly going on. My favorite part of this camera, I have game nights at my house on the weekends with my family. We completely forgot that the camera was there. Later on afterwards, I now have the video downloaded and saved to my phone with awesome memories that I wouldn't have had otherwise. This product was put at my disposal by the review club for testing purposes. Without any obligations other than I provide a honest and unbiased review. I love this and it is definitely going on my wishlist this Christmas. I see at as a great tool for many uses but especially busy parents!
