Finally a keyboard case worthy of the iPad Air 2
Posted by: g35flyer from: on
I have fianlly found a keyboard case worthy of the iPad Air 2 after buying and returning two other cases (Belkin and Zagg). The Logitech Type + is thin and light. All features work including the sleep/wake that have not in the other brands. Bluetooth is functionally properly...again issues that have plagued the other brands. Fianlly, my previous Logitech keyboard for the iPad Air 1 brackets that hold the iPad broke twice...was returned and replaced. Logitech has redesigned these brackets and they look to be much more durable....time will tell. Great device...way to go Logitech.

Best iPad Keyboard for the Air 2
Posted by: Mark from: on
I tried the Belkin and the Zagg keyboards. The Zagg one I tried has lots of plastic, and did not have a tablet mode, other than the bulky model with detachable clam shell. The Belkin is a mess. The magnet is not strong enough to keep the tablet at the 135 degree angle under moderate movement (picking up with one hand to move from table to couch, for example). The bluetooth kept dropping, sometimes to the point where you had to forget and rediscover the device. Also, something about the screen position has you accidentally tapping the bottom of the screen in mid-type, sending your cursor to a completely different part of the email//note/message.
The Logitech keyboard is everything the Belkin is not: reliable Bluetooth, solid keyboard, smart about when to turn the keyboard on/off depending on keyboard vs. tablet mode, strong magnet for holding screen in position, etc.
One note; the shortcut key that is the globe-looking icon is not a shortcut to the web browser. Instead it is to switch to Emoji or other languages optioned in iPad settings' languages. There is no owners manual available in the box or online, but a call to Logitech customer support was helpful in getting me straight on the shortcut key.

Great keyboard and case

I've had many diffferent keyboards for different iPads and tablets and this is by far the best. I love the auto on/off feature of the keyboard. I also like the ability to fold the iPad down and use it without the keyboard. It looks great and works great.

Great Magnets that hold the keyboard in place
Posted by: Bbutton from: on
I tried the Belkin keyboard for the ipad air 2 and hated it. It was bulky, heavy and the magnets and case slid around so it wasn't very sturdy. This case seems almost perfect. The keyboard turns on and off by its self. The keys feel nice but I wish they were a little bit softer texture. The keys are a hard plastic so that is a little cold to the touch. Also i wish the keyboard had a back light display but for 100 dollars you can't go wrong. Other than those two issues I would say this keyboard is amazing. Its half the weight of the other keyboard cases out right now and it feels really nice and sturdy to hold. It's only been a day but I can say hands down this is better than the current belkin case. My first day with this case and I am writing this review using it. I'll let you know if I notice anything else , but as of now I would highly recommend it. I give it 4.5 stars. 5 stars if they give a backlight and soften the texture of the keys. Keep it up Logitec.

Well built construction and long lasting battery
Posted by: WarEagle1991 from: on
Product is built with sturdy rubberized materials. iPad is protected well from drops. Charge ports, buttons and switches are accessible. Magnetic stand puts keyboard and iPad at a good viewing angle. Keyboard has a nice feel for a keyboard of its size. Design is slim enough to easily fit in the tablet slot in my backpack. Nice product that met or exceeded all my expectations.

Comfortable to type but no backlight
Posted by: GeekGirl514 from: on
This is a very good keyboard - it is easy to type on I love the magnetic hold . It is very solid. Some of the features like toggling in between using the keyboard and the ipad keyboard is nice. This keyboard would be perfect if it had a backlight. I like to surf the web at night and I couldn't see a think using the keyboard. Also it would be nice if the keyboard allowed for you to rotate it or be able to prop up the Ipad to view a movie.
I am waiting for a few more keyboards to come out but I think I might take it back just because I like the backlight. It doesn't scratch my ipad - which is wonderful but it really needs a backlight and way to prop up the ipad in portrait view.
It is nice that it shuts off the ipad when you close it and wakes up the keyboard when you attach the ipad and deactivates the keyboard when you detach. I like the lock key which allows you to lock you ipad while it is open. just trying to figure out how to scroll when I am typing so I can keep my hands on the keyboard. It is nice I am just looking for something with a backlight.

Great keyboard layout, but no backlit keys!!
Posted by: vlm1953 from: on
This is an excellent keyboard for a wireless, iPad Air 2 keyboard. Keys and touch are awesome!!!!! That being said, the keys are NOT backlit and I didn't think it mattered. Unfortunately, it does for me. If they added this one, small feature, this model would be perfect!!!! I will return and order the new ZAGG for that feature at same price.

Love the keyboard case, but.......
Posted by: tbond22 from: Roseville, CA on
I love the way the keyboard feels and it works very well. It provides protection and does what I need it to do, but have a few days of having the case closed I noticed there was a long mark on the screen protector I have on my iPad. After looking at it more I could see the mark was caused my the magnet above the keyboard. I am not sure if it would make a mark directly on the glass, but I am not going to find out. I guess you could put a cloth between the screen and keyboard when you close, but you shouldn't have to. Sadly I have to return this case for that reason. I loved the case otherwise.

Poor restraint design
Posted by: Larry from: on
The keyboard is functional and generally protects the iPad. The magnetic strip that activates the keyboard is a nice touch. I had no problem pairing with the keyboard.
However the iPad is only held in place at two corners where it snaps in. As others have noted this is a significant weakness. I have also had an issue when I remove the iPad from the 2 corner mount. I'm not sure if the iPad flexes but it appears the cause a problem with the SIM card connection. Every time I am required to reactivate my iPad. I have had to restart the the iPad to connect back to the cellular network. I'm sure the repeated removal will only weaken the attachment points.
It is also cumbersome to use while in the case unless you are using the keyboard. It does not fold back well to use in the tablet mode. It also adds a good deal of weight which is disappointing since the Air 2 is so light weight and handles so nicely without case.
I will be returning the keyboard / case.

Great look and keyboard

Typing is very easy with this. However the screen has only one angle.
