From the Heart

I stumbled upon Kerli just a few weeks ago. I've been wanting the album ever since. Her music touches your heart and soul. The lyrics hold so much depth and the beat is really easy to get into. Her sound is on the creepy or spooky side, with her voice a cranberries/flyleaf-ish mixture. "Walking on Air" is on of the greatest songs I have ever heard.
Not to mention that she is very down to Earth, and so very happy to have fans that love her songs. Means a lot to see a singer that hasn't let it all go to his/her head yet.
The beats of the songs do seem to sound a lot alike, but if you are wanting that clap beat and spooky, dream like music; Kerli is for you!

Most Unique Album
Posted by: stlouisramsfan03 from: San Juan, New Mexico on
I love the differences for the album and how you can easily distinguish this album, from many artists. You can even distinguish the difference between her and Bjork. I don't see why many reviewers compare her to Bjork, I can understand that both have music that can be "dark", but they have different styles, and how they express their feelings in their songs, and on how they speak their feelings in order to influence an entire generation(s) of people. In my opinion, I just believe that we need to have someone that is not afraid to be alone and daring to be different. I deeply respect Bjork and Kerli for their "daring to be different", but for most of the artists out there, they like to 'emulate' one another but, with these two, and 'few others' they want to come out from another part of the music world. I highly recommend this album for people who love 'different'.

I almost bought this album just because of the cover; I thought it looked interesting. But I put it back because I didn't know what to expect. Then one day I heard a clip of the title track and I knew I needed this CD. I regret not getting it much sooner. Every song is different and unique and many genres are explored here. The melodies are catchy and stick with me frequently. Some tracks are dark [like Love is Dead], others are positive [like The Creationist and Beautiful Day], and some are just plain fun [like Creepshow]. Bulletproof and Fragile are heartfelt ballads with deep lyrics I think most of us can relate with. There isn't one song here I don't like. A few had to grow on me though, which isn't a bad thing. Her music can be strange sometimes but I think that's what makes it stand out. It also has a dreamy atmosphere that isn't found in music very often. This has quickly become one of my favorite albums, ever.

Ok. I hate when I go to look for a CD online and read the reviews. This is because everyone has a different taste in music. So you generally see, THIS IS AN AWESOME ALBUM!!!1!!! or something along those lines. I am going to try and put a better perspective on music reviews.
For this album... it was not Kittie. The song composure was alot of bass and wierd sounds. It wasnt the traditional sound you would expect for music. Which made it enjoyable. However, the music was very generic. The idea was very generic, and there was very little pitch changing. The music felt like the same tone for every song.
