Excellent Washing Machine

Yes, finally I can put a full load of clothes in the (4.3 C.u) washer at one time. It's quiet and does the job. I'm sold on the Maytag brand. Delivery only took a couple of days.

I purchased this washer and dryer a little while back and I absolutely hate the washer. I understand the importance of high efficiency but when all of the clothes do not get washed or even wet, what's the purpose? And I am not overloading the washer to where the clothes should not get wet and washed. Now i feel the need to use the high water cycle so my clothes actually get washed. After the wash is done on the normal cycle, 90% of the time I have to do the drain and spin cycle again due to the fact that my clothes are still dripping water. I would not recommend anyone to purchase this washer. I'm very disappointed in the fact that this is a Maytag. I expected much more from this brand. Please, Best Buy.. do not have your employees recommend this washer. I paid a good about of money for this washer to be highly let down.

Just Doesn't Work
Posted by: AtTheLaundrymat from: on
I bought this washer 1/18/16 when our old washer stopped working. I was really optimistic about it at first. I liked how it would sense the level of laundry in the washer and adjust the water level accordingly. I think in theory it's probably a really efficient washer. The problem is it just randomly stops working mid-cycle and won't do anything. Some loads go through fine, some it just hangs up and doesn't do anything. When this happens all we can do is unplug the washer for 1/2 hour or so, then plug it back it, run the spin and rinse cycle, and then start over. I tried scheduling a repair on the Maytag website and am not able to, just get a message that it can't be completed at this time. I'm really bummed out that I spent so much money on a washer and the only way I can get a load of laundry done is to go to the laundry mat. If you want a washer that doesn't use a lot of water, well, this is for you because it just doesn't work. If you want a washer that actually does its job, look elsewhere.

Maybe the third time out they will fix it.

Purchased 2/2015. IE code- they replaced the mother board. Second time IE code- My wife kept unplugging to reset the code so she could clean our clothes. When they came out to do the service they told us nothing was wrong with the machine. We saw the writing on the wall and purchased the extended warranty when they offered it in the mail. My wife was making do of the situation being that every time we call to set up a service we have to take off from work.It has gotten to the point where we are taking clothes to the laundry because she cannot complete a load without an error code. She just wants a machine that works and wants to outright buy another machine and abandon tis one. I want it fixed. I almost had a date but, they sent my info to the repair company that cannot do repairs if it is on the extended part of the warranty. Still waiting for a manager to return my call. You just can't make this stuff up. Let's see what happens from here.

Tears clothing up
Posted by: ben70 from: on
I bought this on sale from another vendor because of the sale price, took it back the next day. I followed the directions to a "T" and yet my socks and towels were getting the strings pulled at. You could see the runs in the towels. We had a little pile of strings when we folded the load after drying. You can tell it is hard on clothes just by watching it! We even tried the deep water setting to try and eliminate the problem. I really did want to like this washer. People often recommend Speed Queens. I went with a front loader from Frigidaire replacing my old frigidaire. Some people hate front loaders, but I have always had success with them.
Some may say it's because our clothes and towels are in fact old that this Maytag tore them up. Well, I would rather have my fabrics last a few more months. I really felt like I had to walk on eggshells with this unit and was going to have to train everyone how to use it (Or walk on eggshells).
If you buy this unit and it does the same things, return it immediately, don't wait. I have heard of stories of some vendors telling customers they are stuck with it only after having it a couple of days!
P.S. The pic below only represents the threads pulled completely out of the fabric, the other items such as towels and socks have strings hanging out of them. Oh, and my front loader washes far better than this Maytag unit.

Efficient ? Yes !

This washer is really cool ! I like it a lot. Lots of wash settings and is very large. Like being able to see inside the washer with the window on top. (wipe water spots off occasionally so view stays clear) It uses minimal water which is a very good thing. We have had it for about 4 months and use it for about 6 loads per week. Washes all the sheets from king size easily in one load. All our towels for the week in one load. Our queen size sleeping bag easily too in one load. Delicates cycle works very nice, even though it doesn't look or sound like it is being delicate, no problems at all with those items. Clothes are clean and don't tangle up like in a regular washer. It is noisy though. So my husband, who is so freakin'sensitive to any noises, sounds, this washer drives him nuts. Since it doesn't have the traditional agitator the way it cleans the clothes makes a kind of grrring sound as it turns the tub back and forth, that is not steady. I like it actually. However, the braking system for the spin cycle is a bit loud and very weird and sounds like something is very wrong. Called out service and he said all is right. So close the laundry door and turn up the tunes and all is good.

I can finally wash my comforter in this washer. I can say its a bit slow compared to my older washer but other than that I don't have any complain about it. Plus I love that glass cover. You can watch how it washes the clothes. Most of all it really cleans really well.

Likes to do the rumba some times

Overall. The washer does its job and does it well. BUT. I do have a few complaints. First off. It is very LOUD. Makes all kinds of weird noises. I have never heard a washer make the noises this thing does. The other issue. It likes to take walks all by its lonesome every so often.
We even had them come out to make sure it was balanced properly. Checked out fine. So it is not a balancing issue. When it comes down to the last spin. It spins EXTREMELY FAST. I am convinced that is what throws it off every so often and from how ever the clothes etc decide to shift while spinning at such a high rate.
Those are honestly my only 2 cons with it. The rest. FANTASTIC! It always gets everything nice and clean!
