Boom Box Replacement

We purchased this as a gift for my dad & his wife so that they can listen to CD's and books on tape. We liked it so much, we purchased one for ourselves as well, since the tape player on our component system no longer works and we sometimes need to listen to audio cassettes as well. Sounds great and weighs less than our previous one!

This is perfect for what I wanted EXCEPT that it has no on/off switch, You have to pull the plug if using the plug, but using battery operation you have to pull a battery, located under the product, to turn it off. I will put up with this because I wanted the cassette option which is hard to find these days. Overall, I like it. Good sound. Just wish it had an on/off switch. Only reason I gave it a 3 instead of 5.

Good sound quality but eats cassette tapes
Posted by: DonP from: on
The CD player and radio both work well and the sound quality and volume are good, but any cassette tape promptly gets destroyed with a long length of tape getting pulled out and mangled in just several seconds. Every cassette tape that I have tried has been promptly destroyed this way. I like the repeat mode for the CD player.

I selected this CD/Cassette player because I enjoy listening to my tapes from the 60's and 70's. The machine is light weight and has great sound. It also is easy to read and use. I probably should get another one before cassette players become history.

Does the job. Very few tape players around but this little box plays well and has good sound for it's size.

I was looking for a small boombox to replace my mine that stopped working when I came upon this and glad I bought this one, sounds clear when playing some old tapes and I wondered how good they would sound well they are playing clear and just what I wanted I like because it is small and light weight.. The radio comes in clear also.

I bought this as a gift for my 80-year old mother, who wanted to play some of her old cassette tapes. It was easy for her to operate, and the sound quality is very good.
