The Cold War — a time in world history where everyone was torn between East and West. In the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis, a deal was revealed that put an end to the situation. The U.S. government agreed to return Soviet scientist Nokolai Stepanovich Sokolov, who had defected to the West, back to the Soviet Union. They didn't realize that Sokolov was to be the designer of a terrifying new weapon that could spell certain doom and a new age of fear. Nearly two years later, the CIA forms a plan to re-capture Sokolov and deploys the covert FOX unit to the secret research facility, located south of the great Soviet fortress of Groznyj Grad. FOX is a next-generation special forces unit that operates as a specialized combat group and covert intelligence unit. The M.O. of FOX is to dispatch a single soldier who is backed by radio support from afar. With the hopes of the CIA resting on his shoulders, a lone soldier drops into enemy territory — his code name is Naked Snake.
Swoop into enemy territory as Naked Snake in this re-imagining of one of the most popular Metal Gear Solid titles from the franchise. From the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D delivers an all-new telling of the classic PlayStation 2 story in immersive 3D for the first time ever. The power of your Nintendo 3DS creates a rich jungle environment with natural depth in the settings of trees, rocks, water and more. Access your item and weapon inventory easily and quickly with the innovative touch-screen controls. Use the built-in camera technology Photo Camo system to camouflage Snake in a pattern based on an image you capture in the real world. Maintain Snake's balance when climbing trees and crossing bridge and obstacles with the 3DS' Gyro Sensor. Will you be able to carry out your mission and re-capture Sokolov before it's too late?

02/22/2012At E3 2010, the 3DS was first shown to the public for the first time in America. And at E3, many titles were announce stating that they were coming to the 3DS, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D was one of those titles. For nearly over 2 years this game has been in production and finally got released and must I say "HOLY MOTHER OF 'THE F-WORD'!" This game is amazing, even it was already amazing when it was released on the PS2, 3DS version just blew my mind.
First off I must say the 3D effects are REALLY good, it's hard to describe how good, best way for you to get an idea is to try the Demo that's available on the eShop. It's obvious that this game took a lot of time and heart put into it, even though in a way it's a bit of a port, it's also different to the original.
The story is the same as the original, not really a problem. However I've never really owned the original, I only played it at friends houses because of a strict mother. All in all I now have the game, and I really do enjoy it.
Now for the serious part which is a message to parents. DO NOT LET YOUNG CHILDREN PLAY THIS GAME!!! I must be strict on this, especially since kids these days are spoiled with M rated titles. The reason I'm saying this is because it's not the blood because you can turn that off, but there are points in the game where you press the "R" button you can see through Snake's eyes, long story short there are times when he stares at women's breasts and butts. Sorry kids, this isn't a game you should be playing.
If you're looking for a game that includes stealth, action, humor, movie references, survival, yoshi's, and just a classic, I highly recommend Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.
