Overview

Synopsis

Mom at Sixteen
The new girl in town is 16-year-old Jacey Jeffries (Danielle Panabaker), who lives with her divorced mother, Terry (Mercedes Ruehl), and her two siblings. A popular and highly intelligent student, not to mention a talented athlete, Jacey nonetheless seems to be harboring a private, profound sadness -- or at least that's the perception of her high-school guidance counselor, Donna Cooper (Jane Krakowski). Ultimately Donna figures out the truth behind Jacey's melancholia: her baby "brother" Charlie is actually her own son, born out of wedlock and raised by Jacey's overbearing mother in a misguided effort to shield her daughter from disgrace. Upon discovering Jacey's secret, Donna takes a special interest in the girl's welfare -- an interest undoubtedly fueled by the fact that Donna herself is unable to have children. The scenes taking place in the sex-education class have an air of reality often lacking in made-for-TV films, due to the fact that the young actors playing the students were encouraged to improvise their dialogue. Produced for the Lifetime cable network, Mom at Sixteen first aired on March 21, 2005. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Honeymoon With Mom
After being left at the altar, Shannon takes a little advice from her single mom Marla and takes the island honeymoon trip she had planned with her new husband - but brings mom instead. A prominent magazine publisher, Marla's true motivations are more than just mother-daughter bonding, however, as she secretly plans to land an interview with a former astronaut living in the seaside locale. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi

Mom, Dad and Her
A rebellious teenage girl finds the strength to contend the pain of her parents' divorce while spending the summer in the country with her father and his pregnant new wife in this tender family drama featuring The Office's Melora Hardin. Her once-happy home shattered by a bitter divorce, 15 year old Sydney (Brittney Wilson) begins careening down a dangerous path of self-destruction. After suffering a bad case of alcohol poisoning and getting busted for stealing, Sydney reluctantly goes to stay with her father Ben (Paul McGillion) in the country. At first resentful toward Paul's new wife Emma (Hardin), Sydney's insubordination only intensifies. But the fire inside of Sydney gradually begins to quell when she strikes up a friendship with a local girl in the grip of a family tragedy, and establishes an unexpected bond with fearful mother-to-be Emma. Later, when the baby arrives, Emma begins looking forward to the future, rather than being dragged down by the past. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Taken from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story
A mother takes the ultimate risk to rescue her abducted son in this chilling docudrama. In 2008, New York mother Tiffany Rubin (Taraji P. Henson) faced every parent's worst nightmare when her six year old son Kobe vanished into thin air. Upon learning that Kobe had been kidnapped by his biological father and taken to South Korea, Tiffany seeks the assistance of American Association for Lost Children representative Mark Miller (Terry O'Quinn), who guides her through the arduous process of traveling to Korea, and getting Kobe back. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
