Easier than I thought Posted by: from: Flemington on Works great. Electric plug in near the wireless router and pushed the buttons in the instructions on the router and device and it installed itself. It automatically picked up my long phrase password on the router. Then I unplugged it and moved it where I had the weak signal and it worked. Easy. Now, you DO need to go to your all computers, iPads, and/or smart-phones you own and SEARCH for the new wireless router network which this is. It will mirror your existing one with the letters "-EXT" at the end. I have a Droid, iPad, Iphone, a laptop and Macbook, and they all had to be manually configured to find and setup the new wireless network but is the same as you would any place wireless is offered, find it and connect with your router's password (dig it up since you last set it up). Lastly, When you move from one side of the house to the other, you need to switch the wireless router on them to get the stronger of the two signals.

Works well...had an issue with initial set up Posted by: from: on As for what it is supposed to do, this thing is great. My router is about 60' from my garage, where I had little to no signal. My garage is between my house and my pool. I had NO signal at my pool with my router. Did research on this unit, and there are plenty to choose from that do the same thing. Decided on this one at a really good price. Set up was either my stupidity, or a problem with the website that the unit wants you to link to. I ended up doing it by hardwire from router to the unit. It was recognized. Make sure you follow the set up instructions step by step. Very easy to follow, but very easy to decide to NOT follow. Make sure you follow them. After initial set up, I took this out to my garage. My phone instantly found the wifi signal and I signed on to it with my current password to access the router. Works like a charm. I get a great signal at my pool. The only thing that I don't understand, and maybe it's my stupidity, is that when I go to the garage or pool, my phone automatically switches to the extender, which is fine. But when I go back into my house, my phone doesn't automatically reconnect to the router in the house. It keeps the signal from the extender, which is weak once inside my house. Well, not really all that weak, just weaker than my router signal. Not sure if there's a way to have it auto switch from the extender to the main router. Regardless, this thing is great. I'm able to stream music from my phone to my Bluetooth wireless speaker while using the wifi signal. No data used, only wifi. Great investment.

Really improved my Wifi range Posted by: from: on OK, so thinking I could use the router Xfinity provides with their triple play service as whole house wifi was bit of a stumble. You see, my professional wifi is a noine, but my personal wifi was now a two. So I needed to increase the range of my wifi because downstairs in my man cave I have a Sonos speaker in the back near the bar. You know where guests can sit and eat or drink while the game is on, you know, instead of sitting up front near the screen. And when I'm not listening to my voinyl collection(I have over 3,000 pieces), I listen to the SiriusXM app through this speaker. I enjoy Deep Tracks & 70s on 7, but 80s on 8 is really my wheelhouse for music. The old signal was just not strong enough to keep a good connection, but this booster really does the trick. I can now enjoy my music with the improved signal. I even recommended this to my boyfriend Jonhein who is having similar wifi issues. Great product.

Great WiFi extender Posted by: from: on Read reviews and this one seem to get great ones. I highly recommend it. I've had it for a couple of weeks now. I had a spot in 2nd floor bedroom that was constantly dropping my wifi signal. This wifi range extender boost the signal greatly. Where I got maybe 2 bars on my iPhone, I now have all bars lit. It says to plug this in an outlet approximately halfway between your wifi source & where you are using your device. I have it 3/4 the way, in my second floor hallway. It picks up my cable wifi from the 1st floor kitchen pretty far away. Easy to set up too. Took about 5 mins. It uses the same name you picked out for your wifi network and just adds a "ext" for extended, to the name you already have. A cheap enough fix that works awesome!!

Got My Signal Back! Posted by: from: on The Netgear Range Extender does what it says it will do! In my house there are dead spots and I read online that a range extender could probably solve the problem of dropped out wifi signal strength. My smart TV took forever to load YouTube videos and internet related programs. The dropouts were happening at an absurd rate while using the most current modem router combo on the market broadcasting from just down the hall and in the den. I went to Best Buy and bought the cheapest one out of several to consider. With the NetGear I have a faster and more robust connection and I have no more dropped wifi - I got my signal back!

Great product! Easy setup. Posted by: from: New York, NY on After trying another range extender and not being satisfied, I tried the WN3000RP range extender and was pleasantly surprised. My wifi is set up in my office which is on the other side of the house and I was not able tO get a good signal in my bedroom. After installing the range extender per instructions half way between the router and the bedroom, I was able to get full signal strength in my bedroom. Definitely recommend the product.

Great way to extend Wi-Fi throughout your house! Posted by: from: on Product was everything it was reported to be. Wi-Fi service was extended to all areas of our house - even those little nooks and areas unable to receive service before. Instructions were not quite as clear as hoped, so it took a little longer than I thought it would to connect . Am very pleased with the product and would have given it a "5" if able to connect a little easier.

Stopped working after 2 days and I've wasted more Posted by: from: Chicago on The set-up for this was fast and easy and for two days seemed to be working fine. After a couple days, it started to cut in and out at random times then, about 4 days after setting it up, it stopped working entirely. It said it had a signal, but nothing would connect to the internet. I've spent more than 7 hours attempting to fix this with tech support and have been disconnected from phone support 3 times (and never once received the call back that they promise when they first answer), been disconnected from the online chat 4 times (again with no way to get back), and received the brilliant suggestion from their email support to call their phone support. Despite having a case number, each person I talk to makes me do a hard reset and tells me that will solve the problem. It works for 2 minutes and then stops working. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ATTEMPT TO GET ANYTHING RESOLVED WITH THEIR TECH SUPPORT! I cannot stress enough how frustrating the entire experience has been, and it's still not resolved.

WiFi Extender Posted by: from: Crookston, MN on I purchased the Wi-Fi extender because my router with built-in Wi-Fi is located in my basement near my computers, I had installed a similar extender for a friend and felt it would be a great addition to my technology needs. I am now able to sit out on my deck with my tablet reading, checking the incoming weather and email without interruption.

5 min install and works excellent Posted by: from: antrim,nh on We had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom that were getting 1 bar or less of wireless signal strength. My son literally took this out the package and in 5 minutes it was installed and working perfectly. We now have 5 bars ( the max ) is those areas. we have a netgear router ( which in my opinion should be able to reach those areas. I wrote large house above, but the truth is it's a medium size house . Anyway, I thought that getting a netgear range extender might make installation simpler. My son (age 22) said it wouldn't have mattered. I also looked at the larger size, but solely bought this because it was smaller, white (yes- that was a factor in my decision) and plugged into the wall socket. Anyway, it works perfectly, and I'm happy to be able to use my Kindle Fire in my bedroom
