Awesome Camera - WOW
Posted by: Glenn06770 from: on
After researching many cameras I made my choice to purchase the Nikon 7100 because of its quality feel , design, all the versatility which allows you to go from point and shoot using the Full Auto inabling the beginner to avoid any frustration and get out there and enjoy their camera and then grow into the multitude of settings allowing you to add your creative style and effects to your subject. I am so glad I chose this camera because I am amazed at the how pure and sharp the images I can capture.
Nikon packages this camera with not just one but two Quality VR Zoom Nikkor lens , a wireless adapter design to be able to take pictures remotely, communication between your Smart phone or computer/laptop/ IPad. Nikon also throws in a camera bag with multiple pouches and compartments allowing you to stow your gear and keep it well protected and organized while making it stylish and comfortable to carry.
I am truly impressed with this camera and look forward to learning all it has to offer!

fabulous camera for amateur or pro photographer

Camera is very easy to use. Great balance and feel with the two kit lenses. Both are extremely sharp. Autofocus with the 18 -140 mm is extremely fast and accurate. Autofocus with the 55 - 300 mm is a little slower but pictures are amazingly clear and sharp. The wireless adapter is easy to set up and you can use a Wi-Fi device to control the camera. So many features on this camera I don't know if I will ever be able to use them all. Could not be happier with my purchase.

Excellent Enthusiast DSLR

Let me start by saying the Nikon D7100 is not for amature DSLR users or those who don't understand aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. You wouldn't purchase this camera if your looking for something to just place on auto and shoot pictures. While the D7100 does this exceptionally well, there are cameras much cheaper and smaller that would do it just the same. The Nikon D7100 is an exceptional camera for the slightly more advanced DSLR user or semi-professionals. I had the Nikon D5100 for several years and used it to get used to various DSLR settings, functions, and abilities. The D7100 is a significant step up from cameras like the D5100, with a larger sensor and significant more megapixels. It also has a world of new setting options and in depth menus. These will take a long time to fully understand for me and really get full use of. If you have used "beginner" DSLRs for a while and are looking for a step up, you can't do much better than the D7100. The color accuracy, image quality, and in depth setting options are sensational for this price point.
The lenses that come in this particular kit (18-140 and 55-300 mm) are also excellent. The quality of the 18-140 is very impressive and I don't see me using much more than this for shooting most subjects. The 55-300 is nice, but it does take a little bit longer to obtain focus and I wouldn't recommend using it without a tripod.
I have not yet used the wireless capabilities. The bag in this package appears well made (I haven't used it a whole lot yet) and is very functional. The only thing I would change is the location of the buckle.

Great camera for an experienced photographer.

Perhaps I bought a little more camera than my knowledge can handle at this point. I am returning to photography after many years off. My last camera was a 35mm SLR. I rated ease of use and features in the middle, but it is probably more a rating of my abilities. The camera has a lot of features and uses that I have never heard of before and I have a lot of learning to do. I am sure I would rate it a lot higher if I knew how to use all the features without referring to the manual.

Camera is great

The Nikon D7100 is a great camera for the money and with the included 2 lenses, makes this a perfect bundle. The only downfall is that these two lenses are not good if you are going to take night photos from a distance. They are great during the day. Highly recommend the camera and lenses only for day

No Question, This is an Amazing Camera!
Posted by: EngineerRichy from: on
(Pros) This is the second time I have bought a digital SLR from Nikon. My previous camera was a Nikon D60 (entry level) purchased back in 2008. It is still like brand new, takes amazing pictures, and shows no signs of aging. I only upgraded to the D7100 to get 150% more megapixels and to have a camera layout conducive for advanced photography (all shooting parameters are easily set via dedicated hardware buttons, unlike entry level DSLRs where most settings are buried in setup menus). This camera has exceeded my expectations by not only providing me with complete control over a picture, but also with the stunning picture quality.
The pictures with my old D60 were always great, so I never believed that the more expensive cameras could possibly take even better pictures. I am glad to say the D7100 has proven me wrong.
(Cons) The only con I can say about this camera is not about this specific model, but about all DSLR of this class from all manufactures, which is that these more advanced cameras are larger and heavier than entry level DSLRs. Probably not a big deal for anyone looking at DSLRs because it is a given that it's transportation will require additional hardware (special camera strap, camera bag, etc).
(Summary) The only question you need to ask yourself about the D7100 is not will its pictures be of amazing quality, but is it in my price point. If you have the money, you will not regret buying this camera.

Great camera for quality photos, outstanding lens

I reviewed several models of Cannon and Nikon cameras, and after much research, decided on the Nikon D7100. I'm so glad that I chose this camera. It is fantastic! I've only had it about 2 wks, but so far, I am more than pleased. Granted, there is a lot to learn, but the book that comes with the camera is easy to understand and apply. Nikon is a super product. This is my 5th Nikon camera, so I guess that explains why I prefer NIKON cameras.

Great camera, easy to use even for beginner photographers. I prefer backpack to cases to side bags, so it would have been nice to have a bag option, but overall great purchase.

Bought this camera as a bundle with two lenses, WiFi adapter and bag. Everything arrived as expected. Camera is as one would expect from nikon, first class all the way. Ordered online for in store pickup. Best Buy delivered faster than promised and even adjusted the price automatically as the item went on sale after I ordered it.
