Get reliable and consistent performance without overheating issues with this NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. The die-cast aluminum body and modifiable back ensure durability and rigidity, while the thermal solution provides better cooling than standard blower-style graphics cards. This NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics card is VR-ready and delivers three times the speed of its predecessors.

I had no plans to purchase this card, as I had planned to purchase a GTX 970 for my son. However, when this card was released, I decided to purchase it for my system and pass down my GTX 970 to my son. The card performs as expected. I had $325 in gift cards I had been saving for a while that eased the blow of the purchase price, so for me it was much more affordable. I recommend, if you have the budget, if not, the 970's, 980's and 980TI's are still decent cards that are more affordable now and still good cards for 1080P gaming.
Lastly, I know the partner cards add many more features, such as factory overclocking and aftermarket coolers but I personally prefer the reference design cards built by NVIDIA.

Incredible Performance, Even Better Value
Posted by: Lawyer4Ever from: on
I bought this card to replace dual 970 GPUs and it does not disappoint.
- Dropdead great performance in the most demanding games at the highest resolutions including 5760 X 1080 (triple screens) and 3840 X 2160 (4K)
- Does not break a sweat running my Oculus Rift
- Looks high end with the Founder's Edition casing
- Hot air blows outside back of case
- Excellent value at $450 when you consider it outperforms even the might Titan X which costs more than twice as much
- Five connectors
- 3 year warranty
- Overclocking has not gone well for me yet
- Only four displays can be active simultaneously even though card has five connectors
- Card is very long, make sure you have enough space in your case
In summary, I cannot recommend this card enough, just go buy it!!!

After having messed around with both the GTX 1070 and 1080 this card seems to be the best deal for the money by far! The price is reasonable and is justified by the performance. Absolute beast and beats out the GTX 980ti in many aspects. Perfect for 3 x 1080 monitors or 1 x 1440p monitor. But for 4k you are still going to want a 1080.

Oh man is it awesome.

I haven't experienced anything like this in the gaming world before. Everything is running flawless. I try to tax this thing and give it a workout but it hasn't been able to break a sweat. All games on ultra resolution without a stutter. 60 fps+ at all times on every title I've thrown at it. For this price I feel this is a fantastic product that is definitely future proof for a good many years. Also relatively quiet and runs pretty cool temperature wise. 3D mark benchmarks but my modest rig in the top 10% with this card.

Great GPU but limited
Posted by: Jkidd288 from: on
Purchased it 4 days ago because i saw it on the shelf lol and they're in limited supply. I was going from a 970. The 1070 exceeded my expectations as a standard reference card and was visually stunning. But today i returned the card because it raised my mid-tower's temperature at idle. The cooling is not sufficient for a cool and quiet solution especially as you cannot overclock/under-clock the card.
The card ran most games at a solid 60fps at 4k res. Its not the recommended 4k card but it performs well enough to run BF4 4k(90%res modifier) at 60 fps ultra(no AA).Forza 6 runs in 4k easily, GTA V runs well at 75% of 4k with settings maxed, but 1440p is where the ALL games feel completely fluid. . Almost as if the cards only instinct is rendering 2k content without a hitch. The only thing negative i will say is the temperatures and no OC support. I will be getting a Super clocked edition once there's some in stock.

Best Bang For Your Buck!

I went from the 970 to 1070 and what a massive difference it made. On my gaming PC, I went from 35-45 fps on the Witcher 3 on mid to high settings to 60 fps on ultra max settings. I would suggest saving up and picking up one over the 1060 as this graphics card is the real sweet spot.

This card is intense. The 1070 is the new king for this pricepoint, without question.
This is a reference design and as such it does run hotter than I would like. However it still does the job and looks really good. Would likely tell someone to go get an aftermarket cooler, unless you want to SLI these.
-FAST, High framerates on 1080p with everything as high as it can go. This is the perfect card for 1440p@60hz - And a great card for 1080p@144hz, assuming you want to max everything as high as you can
-Looks really good
-Backplate is plastic. Kinda makes it feel cheap..but its a GPU you won't be touching it often
-Mishmash of connectors. Basically one of everything.
-Runs a bit hot - I chalk this up to the reference design

Better than Titan X
Posted by: Whaza from: on
If you planning to get RX 480 or GTX 1060, it is wise to save up or payment plan and buy this instead, because this is the actual price for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, instead of waiting for 4 to 5 months of many sold out graphic cards. the performance on GTX 1070 will blow all the water away and performing better than GTX 980 Ti, but like all other Nvidia card, this one gets very hot and may be increase fan speed to 80-10% to keep it cool under 50-60 degree. May wise to upgrade to liquid cooling for the GPU to performance better. I'm playing fallout 4 and DOOM in ultra setting 80-90 FPS with my AMD FX 8300, but if you have intel i7, you should be able to get higher FPS. Overall this is a great buy without waiting in line.
