When You Were Shouting at the Devil: Release Notes: Muze
Zimmers Hole: The Heathen (vocals); Jed Simon (guitar); Byron Stroud (bass guitar); Gene Hoglan (drums).Engineers: Rob 'Chicken' Shallcross; Rob Stephenson; Devin Townsend; Shaun Thingvold; Jed Simon.Recording information: Sixmon; Hipposonic; Black Cat; Chickenpoop Studios; The Armoury. The full title of this thrash album is WHEN YOU WERE SHOUTING AT THE DEVIL...WE WERE IN LEAGUE WITH SATAN. That should indicate both the influences and the level of winkful knowing that informs Zimmers Hole's music. The Vancouver based band plays as fast, hard, and melodically as any of their thrash metal compatriots, but with a refreshing sense of humor that results in songs that serve as both homage and parody of the genre.

Alternative Press (p.139) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "What makes Zimmers Hole -- a long-running, tongue-in-cheek side project featuring members of Strapping Young Lad -- so funny is that they know full well they're being offensive."
