Telephone technology has come a long way from the days of corded phones. Thanks to the latest technology, the sound and security of cordless phones now rivals corded models — in conveniently portable handsets.

Corded phones operate on various radio frequencies which are set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The two latest technologies on the market today are 5.8GHz and DECT 6.0.
