CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: All for Our Country
CSI's fourth season gets off to a lively start with this concluding episode of a two-part story. While the CSI team investigates a double murder, two more bodies turn up. It may be a serial killing -- and worse, a police officer might be involved. The case becomes even more complex when the two likeliest suspects are also murdered. Meanwhile, Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) tries to cope with the murder trial of her casino-owner father, Sam Braun, as she joins Sara (Jorja Fox) in probing the bizarre demise of a college football fan. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Coming of Rage
Grissom (William L. Petersen), Sara (Jorja Fox), and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) arrive at a construction site where a 15-year-old boy has been bludgeoned to death. The key to solving the case would seem to be a hammer -- but no hammer is found. Likewise missing is the weapon used to kill a young bride outside her new home, a case that keeps Nick (George Eads) and Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) occupied throughout most of the episode. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Fur and Loathing
There's some rather unusual "road kill" along a lonely stretch of Nevada highway: the body of a man dressed in a huge raccoon costume. The man had been shot before his body was struck by a car -- and now the car's driver is also dead. As Grissom (William L. Petersen) and Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) investigate, the trail of clues leads to a kinky cult of fur fetishists. And somewhere across town, another corpses is found -- this one literally "on ice." ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Invisible Evidence
Warrick (Gary Dourdan) is certain that he has a rape-murder suspect dead to rights when he recovers a key piece of evidence, a bloody knife. But when he drops in at the suspect's preliminary hearing, Warrick is shocked to hear the judge declare that the knife is inadmissible. With only 24 hours remaining before the suspect has to be set free, the CSI team scrambles to prove his guilt. Xander Berkeley makes his first series appearance as Sheriff Rory Atwater. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Grissom Versus the Volcano
Three people are killed in a car bombing outside a Vegas casino. One of the victims was the driver, who turns out to be a federal air marshal. Under pressure from the higher-ups to solve the case, Sheriff Atwater (Xander Berkeley) runs with the prevailing theory that the bombing was an act of terrorism -- but CSI chief Grissom (William L. Petersen) isn't about to hoist the red flag just yet. Meanwhile, Sara (Jorja Fox) and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) investigate the murder of a woman whose husband is a popular Vegas singer. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Feeling the Heat
As Las Vegas swelters under a triple-digit heat wave, Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) investigates the death of a baby, whose body was found locked in a car. Apparently the infant died of suffocation -- but when exactly did the death occur? Likewise yielding more than meets the eye is Warrick's (Gary Dourdan) investigation of a man who allegedly succumbed to a heat stroke. And Nick (George Eads) and Sara (Jorja Fox) arrive on the scene when a young girl's body washes up along a lake shore. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Homebodies
The mummified body of an old woman is found in the victim's closet. It was clearly no accident, and the woman was clearly alive when she was entombed. As Grissom (William L. Petersen) investigates, other CSI members look into a case involving a break-in, a teenaged girl, and a rape -- a case that has more in common with the aforementioned death of the old woman than first meets the eye. Likewise linked are two separate investigations conducted by Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) and Warrick (Gary Dourdan), both involving the same weapon. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: After the Show
This episode was co-written by former real-life CSI Elizabeth Devine, who worked on the actual case upon which the story is based. Vegas is put on high alert when an aspiring model turns up missing. The prime suspect is willing to talk -- but only to Catherine (Marg Helgenberger), with whom the man is obviously smitten. As a result, Catherine presumptively takes over the investigation, enraging both Sara (Jorja Fox) and Nick (Gary Dourdan), who had hoped to use this high-profile case to advance their own careers. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Jackpot
Grissom (William L. Petersen) receives a grisly special-delivery package: a severed head, found in the woods near the remote Nevada village of Jackpot. Arriving in the town to find the rest of the body -- and, hopefully, the killer -- Grissom runs up against an impenetrable wall of silence. Back in Vegas, Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) is far from happy when she is given a huge check by her father, casino owner Sam Braun (Scott Wilson), presumably for her "help" in getting his murder charge dropped. She doesn't want the money -- and she certainly does not welcome a subsequent visit from Sam. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Assume Nothing
CSI launches its fourth season with a two-part story involving a serial killer, a murder trial, a possible coverup, and profound personal crises. In part one, a woman is found in a casino hotel room, her throat cut. Her husband is later found dead in this car. Then another couple, with whom the first victims had been acquainted, turn up murdered. As the CSI team investigates, Nick (George Eads) makes a professional blunder that may allow the perpetrator -- or perpetrators -- to go free. On top of all this, a Vegas judge (John Doman) seems strangely reluctant to issue warrants for the likeliest suspects. And the murder trial of Sam Braun (Scott Wilson), biological father of CSI member Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger), drags on. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Eleven Angry Jurors
Eleven of the 12 jurors in a murder trial are all for convicting the defendant. The 12th juror is a holdout -- and worse, he is an awful man who has incurred the hatred of the other 11. Thus, there is no shortage of suspects when the holdout is found dead in the jury room. Elsewhere in town, a woman whose sister disappeared four years ago claims that her brother-in-law killed her sister; alas, the woman also insists that the killer burned the body and disposed of the ashes in a river, leaving CSI with literally nothing to work with. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Turn of the Screws
Six people are killed when an amusement-park roller coaster derails, causing one of the cars to plummet into a crowded parking lot. In the course of their investigation, the CSI members conclude that the "accident" was anything but. And in another case, the body of a 13-year-old girl is found near a lake. According to fans and series insiders, this episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation set a record for the highest body count within a single 60-minute timespan. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Paper or Plastic
Five people are killed in a bungled grocery store robbery that escalates into a shooting spree. Investigating, the CSI members find that one of the victims was a police officer. The case is complicated when Grissom (William L. Petersen) encounters resistance from another cop who apparently suffers from a persecution complex. Further muddying the waters is the evidence found at the crime scene -- rather than not enough evidence, there is far, far too much. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: No More Bets
The man who has just won 400,000 dollars at one of Sam Braun's casinos has a foolproof "system": he cheats. Later on, the man is found murdered, along with his accomplice. Inasmuch as Braun (Scott Wilson) is a prime suspect, Grissom (William L. Petersen) takes Sam's biological daughter Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) off the case -- as if that would stop her from trying to get Sam off the hook. More friction occurs within the CSI staff when Nick (George Eads) beats out Sara (Jorja Fox) for a promotion. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Suckers
A person is electrocuted at a Vegas hotel where an exhibit of rare Japanese artifacts is being held. As it turns out, the killing was merely a diversion, designed to allow the perpetrators to steal a priceless 17th century samurai sword. As Sara (Jorja Fox) and Nick (George Eads) investigate this case, Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) head to the headquarters of cult of "modern vampires" to probe the death of a woman whose blood was siphoned from her veins. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Dead Ringer
Several Southwestern police departments -- 20,000 members strong -- converge in Nevada to compete in a desert relay race. With victory in their grasp, contestants Grissom (William L. Petersen), Catherine (Marg Helgenberger), and Nick (George Eads) come upon a body lying on the side of a road. It turns out that the victim was another runner, a Los Angeles police officer. And back in Vegas, Sara (Jorja Fox) and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) investigate an apparent murder-suicide -- and this time, both of the victims were cops. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Bad Words
A contestant in a word-game tournament is killed when he is literally forced to eat his words by having letter-tiles jammed down his throat. As the CSI investigates this case, another corpse, that of a teenaged girl, is found in the ruins of a burned-down building. This being the second fire in the same neighborhood within the same week, Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) suspect that a serial arsonist is at large -- but when will he (or she) strike again? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Getting Off
In a section of town festering with drug dealers and addicts, an immaculately dressed, seemingly wealthy man is found murdered in his car. As Grissom (William L. Petersen), Nick (George Eads), and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) investigate, two interesting facts come to light: the victim was not robbed, and he was in the neighborhood for a definite purpose. Across town, another body is found stuffed in a tire in an auto junkyard. At first, Sara (Jorja Fox) and Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) assume that the heavily made-up victim was a transvestite. Ultimately, it turns out that the dead man was dressed in a clown costume...but why? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Bad to the Bone
The body of a large, bullying man is found beaten to death in the parking garage of a casino. Given the man's bulk and bad attitude, it seems implausible that he was the victim of a single assailant. But the CSI suspects that this is precisely the case -- and that the killer was a short, unprepossessing motel owner with a violent past, an unpredictable temper, and a close-mouthed attitude when it comes to providing an alibi. Elsewhere, another murder appears to be tied in with the disappearance of a child. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: XX
A chartered bus transporting a group of female convicts turns out to have another "passenger" when a severed arm flies out from under the vehicle. In the ensuing investigation, the mangled body of a woman is found tied to the undercarriage of the bus. At first, it appears that the woman was the victim of a bungled escape attempt, but the CSI members are soon led down a different trail of evidence. Elsewhere, a gambler finds himself on the business end of a knife, suffering one fatal wound in the front of his body, four in his back -- and all from the exact same angle of attack. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Early Rollout
A few episodes back, casino owner Sam Braun (Scott Wilson), biological father of CSI member Catherine (Marg Helgenberger), presented her with a huge check, presumably for helping him beat a murder rap. In this episode, we find out more about that check -- and a lot more about Catherine, especially during her job evaluation. In addition, some surprising "dirt" about Catherine's colleague Sara (Jorja Fox) is also revealed. Meanwhile, the CSI investigates the double murder of a well-liked Vegas club owner and his porn-star wife, which may or may not be linked to a huge jewelry heist. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Butterflied
Grissom (William L. Petersen) has trouble maintaining a professional distance while investigating the murder of a woman. It seems that the victim bore a startling resemblance to Grissom's CSI colleague Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox). As Grissom doggedly tracks down clues in the woman's murder, a disturbing question arises: is he working so hard just because he's good at his job or does he care more about Sara than he is willing to admit? It was not for nothing that this intense episode was originally rated TV-14-SV. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Bloodlines
This final episode of CSI's fourth season involves a casino employee who is beaten and raped while heading home. Surviving the ordeal, the victim gives a positive ID of the assailant -- who is freed after a DNA test "proves" his innocence. As Grissom (William L. Petersen) wrestles with the possibility that the lab results might have been inaccurate, he is forced to deal with another crisis, one that strikes closer to home: fellow CSI operative Sara (Jorja Fox) has been arrested for drunk driving. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
