Posted by: from Brentwood, TN on 05/17/2013I had second thoughts about this product until I seen that it was tested and was highly rated by ConsumerReports.org and sure enough it lived up to what Ooma says it will do! The monthly price is a money saver too. Excellent sound quality.

Posted by: from SLO, CA on 05/17/2013Decent product. Obviously meant for home use and not heavy office phone use, but works decently. Great price.

I worry for the phone company!

Posted by: from O'Fallon IL on 05/14/2013Heard about this system from a friend, and had to give it a try. This system requires a robust internet connection, but if you have one (I'm running 30MB cable) it is a great option. The system was set up in 15 minutes, and then you have nationwide phone service. For the price of the taxes (check their website), you can replace your traditional POTS with VOIP. After 2 weeks, I was comfortable enough to port my existing phone line, and I went from $43/mo for local only to >$5/mo for unlimited US long distance (OOMA basic) I then opted for the $9.99 additional for OOMA premier--With premier you can access your voicemail anywhere in the US, or forward your home phone to another line (cell?) while traveling. For me it was still an incredible deal! I have had the occasional echo, but I simply call back. I'm very happy with this choice, and I worry for the phone company (well, not really!)

Posted by: from Sonoma on 05/08/2013I did some research and read the reviews here. This product works as advertised. I had given up home phone service, but was worried about easy access to a phone in case of an emergency. This allows me to have it without the monthly bill from Comcast.

    NO MORE PHONE BILL!!!!!!
    5
Posted by: from Kalamazoo, MI on 05/07/2013This does exactly what it says it does. It takes 10 minutes from opening the box, picking a phone number you want, and having a dial tone. That's it. I just got my first "phone bill". $3.71 for the month. That's a lot better than the $40 I was paying. The only, so minimal I dare even call them complaints, I have is the call quality isn't perfect. I will hear disruptions from time to time, but you really have to be listening for them to even notice. And the people I call will sometimes have strange names come up on their caller ID. That's it. Otherwise it is exactly what you'd think. Pay $150 now and never have a phone bill again. Mine will have paid for itself in four months.

Posted by: from Atlanta,GA on 05/05/2013I was paying ATT $65 month for a basic land-line. My wife told me it was time to let the land line go as we both use our cells primarily. However like everyone else, most of my financial history and security information is validated with the land line. This option to push it to Ooma was a no-brainer and pays for itself in 2 months. We still plan to ditch the land-line, but at $3/month for government fees, I may hold it a little longer. The transition was pretty simple. Ooma handled the number port in about 2 1/2 weeks. Set up was simple and straight forward. It's only been 2 months, but so far I'm happy I finally pulled the trigger.

    WOW I'm Impressed

Posted by: from East Lansing, MI on 05/03/2013WOW I'm Impressed! I purchased this Ooma to Replace my "Home" line from my are U kidding me on the price VERSE. Originaly, I was thinking of buying the Updated Version of Not Quite MagicJack because I had used the original version before. But, as I was looking at the various options, I remembered seeing the TV Commercial for Ooma and, saw on BB's website that It got good reviews *A big THANK YOU to the others that reviewed this Item.* Ooma was super easy to Set Up and Activate all you need is a web browser - No software to install - takes less than 15mins - After that no computer is required! SOUND QUALITY is as good or better than U-verse. The Line Connect and Disconnect when making a call is much faster. And, after the initial device cost MUCH cheaper! Oh and FYI - I generally do NOT leave reviews but, I liked this product so much, I felt is was the right thing to do - I was that satisfied!

Posted by: from San Diego on 05/03/2013This is awesome! I wish I had made the switch sooner. I forget I am using VOIP because there is no difference. I have used for webinars and long talks and no complaints. Great quality!
