Big interior, simple controls, and big door handle
Posted by: Willibald from: Fort Collins, CO on
Good buy for the money. I was looking for a big, higher power unit with a handle, not a stupid push button latch, which will eventually fail. It boils and heats foods quickly and is easy to use. Only drawback for me is that I can't disable the turntable for my large square dishes and the interior light is uselessly dim. May be possible to install a higher wattage bulb. Also, really like the add 30 second and add 1 minute quick start buttons. Always a must have with microwaves.

Excellent microwave for the price.

Bought this unit because I've had an Oster before and it was fine. Alo the price was very good and well reviewed by Consumer Reports.

Good size, soft door!

Bought this to replace another brand which I had previously had great experiences with, but the last purchase from them was a complete failure and I needed to make sure not to have those same issues. I would have liked to have a larger sized microwave, but this one was the largest I could find that had a door WITH A HANDLE. Those doors that open by the push button are setup to fail and many times must be slammed just to be able to close them. This door opens and closes easily, and no need to get violent with it. One cup of water in a glass bowl will boil in 2 min. While you can't use it with a 13x9 baking dish, a standard 9" dinner plate with a lid fits easily, with room to spare. 30 sec quick start button is nice too.

nice size microwave

Haven't had it that long, but it does everything that I want and need it to do. I like having the handle on the door instead of a push button that seems to stick and get sticky.

Uneven cooking, slow cook time for rated power
Posted by: KipV from: Tryon, NC on
Heating of foods was very uneven and took many seconds longer than the microwave it replaced with identical power. Door was not mounted well and many times, the countdown timer would begin but it would not start the actual cooking. Best Buy graciously took the product back and quickly processed the refund. Best Buy definitely has my business but not Oster.

Great product, but a bit loud.
Posted by: gus637 from: Minneapolis, MN on
Overall, I love it. The only real downside is that it's a bit noisy. You can really tell when this thing kicks in. When you hit the start button, it almost shakes because of the power kicking on. Plus the beeps are really loud too. When the time runs out, it lets off a series of beeps, and they continue even after you've opened the door.

Do not buy.
Posted by: Eaglemom6 from: Staten island, NY on
The model we purchased must have been defective. The breakers kept blowing out, not every time, but about 1 in 3 uses. There was a burning smell of wiring. We returned it to the store after giving up in one week. Side note: we have a dedicated circuit breaker for the microwave oven and toaster over, so there was no overload to system. Our previous microwave was larger.

It arrived in nonworking condition
Posted by: Andorra from: Melbourne, FL on
It wasn't working - no power. Returned to BestBuy. There was a piece of carton board lying inside the oven. Had to go online to find out that it was a vent cover. Manufacturer wants you to install it! Its configuration does not match the brackets on the oven wall, plus the vent is on the right side, and you find yourself in a convoluted position half-inside the oven, trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, so to speak. And when I was done, I found out the darn thing wouldn't power up! Had a dent on the outside, too!
