This Oster TSSTTVF816 6-slice toaster oven features toast, bake and broil options and a convection function, allowing you to prepare a wide variety of foods. A 60-minute timer lets you set the appropriate cooking time to ensure optimal results.

I bought this for my dad, who uses the toast feature a lot. They had been buying the cheapest ones for years and I wanted them to have one that would last. This Oster toasts wonderfully (once you figure out what you like), but it's also large enough to make a pizza or a frozen meal or even a small casserole. This appealed to me because mom is losing her memory and dad will be doing more of the cooking. Plus the oven turns itself off when it's done, unlike a traditional oven.
It's attractive in silver, but it is large and takes up a large chunk of counter. Still, if you want a toaster oven that can do it all, this is a very reasonably priced, reliable choice.

Good Toaster Oven
Posted by: rxpcgal from: on
This is a great toaster oven. Cooks evenly, needed to replace my old one that I had for years. Unfortunately, it was MY fault that I didn't measure and it's a tad too small, but my son will be going to college and this would be perfect for his dorm. And an excuse to buy a new, and BIGGER toaster oven!
Just be careful, the sides get really hot, and the tray does not extend out when opening the door.

Toasts really fast.
Posted by: fairmaiden from: on
This toaster oven toasts very fast compared to my old B & D. The big problem is the timer. It isn't very precise. The same timer is used for toasting and all the other settings. The bread needs to be carefully watched or it burns. Bummer. Also, the temperature numbers should be on the top of the dial, not the bottom. Hard to see where one is setting the dial. Baking is good if you don't over bake because of the timer setting.

doesn't live up to my old toaster oven
Posted by: khat12 from: on
i bought my old toaster over a decade ago. moved to a new house, so figured, just get a new toaster oven (they're cheap, and the old one was kinda gross after years of use). this oster is larger than my old one. it can comfortably hold 4 slices of bread, not 6. i don't know if they're talking about the old school, "Wonder Bread" sized bread? i buy the more present day loaves, like milton's multigrain...
anyway, size-wise i'm fine. i'm not cooking full meals in here.
also, it looks nice in our stainless steel appliance kitchen.
here are the cons:
- baking tray included has a design relief-printed into it. a big "X" looking thing. what if i want to bake cookies? the baking sheet should have just been a flat surface. makes no sense for a baking sheet of any size to have a non-flat surface...
- the crumb tray stops short of the door. what?? so basically anytime you pull your hot piece of food out of there, it will leave crumbs. and those crumbs are not caught by the crumb tray. in my old toaster oven the crumb tray extended to the exterior of the toaster oven, so you catch almost every crumb. with the oster, you pull out the crumb tray, and the crumbs that come off as you pull your food out (so, a LOT) stay in the toaster. poor design!

Thermostat way off.

Great looking oven, especially if you have stainless appliances. Interior room was better than I thought it would be.......however, set at 350º, the actual temp was 425º......set at 200º, it was actually 250º. Also, as a previous reviewer mentioned, the temp numbers are on the bottom of the dial.......very hard to read if you are over 4' tall. The price was great though.....39 dollars, with a coupon, and free shipping.

It is a good oven/toaster for the money. Somewhat difficult to learn the settings.
