I was pleasantly surprised...

When I first saw Ouran High School Host Club at Best Buy, I thought it was another stupid anime with a dumb storyline and pointless fan service (and I'm an old-school, long time anime fan). When I finally gave it a chance out of boredom (and because it was on Netflix), I realized how wrong I was. Yes, the show's premise is ridiculous, and all the characters are ridiculous as well (with a very few exceptions). But if you can get pass the ridiculousness, it's a pretty heart-warming romantic comedy. And if you buy into the craziness thrown at you (and I did), the show is LOL hilarious.
I cannot say enough good thing about the voice acting. Everyone on the show did an excellent job. So good that I actually prefer the dub version over the subtitle version (which is a rarity for me). A fun side note is that I had the opportunity to meet Vic Mignogna (voice actor for Tamaki) and J Michael Tatum (voice actor for Kyoya) in person at an anime con, and I was so taken by how much they are like their characters in Ouran. I guess that explains why the voice acting was so good.
The DVD extra are pretty typical -- commentaries, outtakes, trailers and textless songs. The commentaries are actually better than most I have seen - you actually learn something extra about the show/the voice acting.
The bottom Iine is if you like LOL comedies with a heart and are a romantic at heart, you will probably like the show. I end up loving the show, so much that I actually bought the DVD after watching it several times on Netflix.

My sister and I had originally watched this on Funimation and decided we had to buy it. All of the extras are hilarious and worth the purchase. There are outtakes and even the commentary is worthwhile. Vic Mignogna, Todd Haberkorn, Travis Willingham, Caitlin Glass, etc. all do an amazing job. It's like a Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood reunion for the actors. This is an absolutely wonderful show, it's funny and cute.

The comedy is the best I've seen. Plus, the characters are hysterical! I love Tamaki so much, and the fact that he's voiced by Vic Mignogna makes it even better.
