Take stunning photographs in low-light conditions with this Platinum i-TTL PT-DFLEXT1N auto external flash that features S1 and S2 slave modes for off-camera operation. The focus assist light helps provide quick focus in dark areas.

Great flash for the money

I purchased this flash because I had to shoot a wedding the same day didn't have the cash on hand for a nikon. I picked this up because it had more features than the insignia and the price was right. Honestly I was going to return it. However, after using it I've decided it is a keeper. It was fast to refresh is extremely flexible to bounce in any direction. The ittl works well it zooms when I zoom and is fully adustable can be run manually or in slave mode. It is a little noisey when zooming but not enough to distract during a quiet wedding. The click of the bounce is also a little loud and distracting but I'm sure that will change over use. It is well built and seems sturdy. It has a built in diffuser and bounce card. I agree the nikon brand flash is probably better but at this price this seems great. For your info I used this with a d5100 and d7100!

Great flash for the price

I originally purchased the Nikon SB 700 and ended up returning it for the same price as 2 of the Platinum versions. At first, I'll admit I was skeptical. However, that quickly faded when I realized how incredibly easy to utilize this flash is. Menu programming is simple and the outcome is wonderful. I would most definitely recommend this product to anyone in the learning stages of flash photography.

Great Flash for Nikon

love the diffuser and the light the flash emits, being able to adjust the angle doesn't hurt either! VERY efficient battery usage

Excellent flash for the Price

I initially wanted to buy the more expensive SB700. I'm new to use external flashes and after going through the features I chose this over the SB700. It works great with all camera settings and iTTL features works perfectly with my Nikon D5100. I'm planning on getting a second one. Will be using two of these with external radio flash triggers.

Excellent but big!

I recently bought the D3400 two lens bundle which went on sale for $100 less a few days later, so I went back to Best Buy for a price match and ended up paying $2.10 for this flash! It works much better than expected; bounce flash is exceptional, especially with the wide diffuse panel pulled out. Flash will zoom out to 105mm, which is fine for most situations. Flash takes about 10 seconds to charge once turned on but cycles reasonably fast. The unit is big and a bit heavy, but feels sturdy. Soft blue light on the menu is perfect- highly visible but not blinding. Big auto-focus assist light works much better than the one on the camera.
My only complaint is the hot shoe mount is plastic and has the gear style instead of the latch style. Due to the size and weight of the flash I feel like this is a weak point and possibly where breakage could occur. I found myself being very careful not to bump the flash for fear that I would snap off the connector. Other than that, I have zero complaints and would highly recommend this flash!

Extremely useful flash for those looking to upgrade their game. Easy to handle with more than enough instructions for various applications.

Great flash for a beginner

I needed a flash to begin with. It's a decent price for a student income base. Great for photos at night.
