I use it for both. These came quickly from Best Buy and were a breeze to install. I noticed instant performance gains, decreased rendering times and the processor load wasn't nearly as high when recording or using VST's. These are a great value and I highly recommend them.

Fast memory makes games and other apps run faster and smoother, If you just use your computer for email and surfing the web and office apps. then don't waste the money but if your a gamer then this is for you
