Good heart rate monitor
Posted by: from: Los Angeles, California on
Good heart rate monitor, very easy to use and comfortable. One of my favorite things is that you could go to pretty much any gym and they will usually have treadmill that will automatically link to your wearlink. The only problem that I have was the price. This is my 3rd POLAR watch. The first one I had was the RS200 and something happened to the screen and parts were faded. I got a replacement watch RS100 and decided to buy this one as my third. My only suggestion to any buyer would be to SAVE YOUR RECEIPT because you have a warrantee that you can send to their repair shops but of course you need to proof that the watch was purchased within the year for the warrantee to be honored

Just what I needed!
Posted by: Katie from: GA on
I got this at a great price and it was exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't concerned with this device syncing with an app...I just wanted it so I could tell if I was over/under doing things. My fitness/weight loss journey started 7 months ago, and as I progressed from walking to running, I wanted to know when my heart rate wasn't where it needed to be for maximum calorie burn/effectiveness, but I also wanted to tell when I was over doing it. Starting to jog, and being overweight, I assumed that naturally I would be hot, super sweaty and out of breath, but I didn't realize until I got this that when I ran my heart rate was WAY over the target area and stayed at the "maximum" for my age/height/weight. No wonder I always thought I was about to die. ;)
The band is comfortable enough, I haven't had any problems with it. The watch itself is fine. Easy to read and use. No complaints. Knowing when to speed up, and when to slow down...my workouts have changed, and the way I feel afterwards, since this purchase and I couldn't be more pleased. Would definitely recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for
Posted by: mcmcmcmc from: on
I'm new to heart rate monitors, so I had a lot of searching to do to figure out what I needed from one before I placed my order. I soon found that the Polar brand was the one to get, but they have hundreds of models, ranging from affordable to incredible. I know some will say this model doesn't have it all, but if you're looking for something to keep you informed of your progress in your exercise routine, this is really all you need. Tracking up to 10 sessions worth of data, but also keeping a running total, the watch can tell you how long you worked out, your average heart rate, maximum reached, and time in the zone, and from that, how many calories you burned. It beeps softly at you every 5 seconds or so when you're under the zone, and also tells you when you've exceeded your maximum. The display is really easy to read, even in the middle of vigorous training session. The watch in comfortable and easy to clean, as is the chest strap, which is fully adjustable. I have no complaints at all, and for the price, I'm extremely pleased. I only wish there was a way to download the training files from the watch to my computer, but a spreadsheet also works just fine.

Great for working out!
Posted by: x0rachel0x27 from: Toledo, OH on
I started using this the day I got it in the mail. It is extremely easy to set up and use right after taking out of the packaging. I do high intensity cardio (lots of jumping, running, kicking, etc I burn about 700-800 calories in a 1 hour class and 30 minutes after.. yes you are still burning even after the workout!) and have had no problem with the band slipping down. I don't even feel the band if it is on correctly. It should fit snug but not hurt. I love seeing my heart rate and that calorie count go up during a work out. It definitely motivates you to keep going and work harder. Great for people just beginning their exercising or even someone who has been exercising for awhile.

Comfortable and Accurate
Posted by: DavidBerkowitz from: on
I was using a wrist monitor for years. It was accurate, matched at my doctors office. BUT, I ride a bicycle and in order to use it, I had to stop, put my other hand on the watch/monitor, and wait, and wait. This Polar monitor matches the accuracy of my other one, but has a constant display. All I have to do is glance at the monitor and my data is there. No stopping, no taking my eye off the road. At first, I wanted a larger face, but if it was larger, I think it would not be as comfortable and really, not much easier to read. The size is fine.
I was concerned about the chest strap. The instructions on how to adjust it were a bit vague, but once I figured it out, it was simple. It does take a bit of getting used to, but after it is on for about 20 minutes, you don't even think about it. It is not uncomfortable. It's just there and you don't notice it. Also, it does not move about. It does stay in place.
Overall, I am happier with it than I thought I would be.

This is a pretty good product. It's easy to setup.
Posted by: MzJay03 from: Cleveland, OH on
I workout 3x a week doing high impact bootcamp cardio aerobics. I wanted a product that would accurately calculate my HR and calories burned. The watch is easy to setup and very easy to navigate. The chest strap stays in place and does not irritate my skin. However, for some reason the signal gets lost often and the HR stops reading which causes the calories burned to stop also. I have noticed that when I wet the strap thorougly I get better readings so don't be afraid to wet it. Overall this is a good product and I have reccomended it to many of my friends.
