One look at the cover and you should have some kind of idea what to expect with Darkside's Psychic. The mystery, the glow, and the smooth production, you know? The tracks run at 45rpm and sound downright amazing. The digital fuzz on the opening track is enough to give goosebumps to even the Sons of Anarchy. If you're looking for a fantastic chill out album, look no further. This is a jaw to the floor brilliant debut album as they sound like veterans right from the get go. My best friend Leet Larry said they were n00bs, and I was like, "What would you know about electronic music Larry? Your favorite song is from the water level in Super Mario Brothers." Larry was offended that I tested his knowledge, as he shouted back, "I KNOW A WHOLE LOT ABOUT ELECTRONIC MUSIC EUGENE!! SO YA BETTER SHUT YER MOUTH I TELL YA!" Let me say, it's never easy to introduce a new album to Larry. His hostility reigned strong as usual. By the time the album was over though, he did admit that "the last song was okay." I was like, "You're darn right it is! Now go get the hot pockets from up stairs, the microwave has been beeping for almost 15 minutes." There was no way I was going to stop the record for anything, not even Hot Pockets. That's how good Psychic is. It is far superior to the latest Daft Punk album, which ended up winning best album of the year at the Grammys. Too bad the Grammys are for Grannys and Bozos, you know?
