Heartbreaking film! Posted by: from: on Room is a drama thriller, but not in the traditional sense of the word. It deals with a dark subject matter and the first half of the film can be quite disturbing. Yet director Lenny Abrahamson has adapted the best-selling novel with grace and grandeur. Here is a film so artistically unique and deviant, full of genuine emotion thanks to two outstanding performances, that isn't afraid to take risks and surprise at every turn. Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay both give spectacular performances that we'll definitely see more of them in the future! The best actors are the ones able to transport you into their characters' own universes, no matter how isolated from society they happen to be. Larson and Tremblay both have a tremendous range of emotional ability and are able to sell you on their story not just for two hours, but for an entire lifetime. With Room, Lenny Abrahamson goes the extra mile with his direction. The film asks us to examine how we view the world and how this viewpoint is shaped by our nurtured upbringing. The result is a breathtaking experience brought to life, one you won't soon forget. Overall, my final verdict 5/5 Stars!

A beautiful movie with great tension Posted by: from: on When this movie came out last year I did not have the chance to go see it. However, when I rented it at Redbox I fell in love with the movie and I had to buy it. This item/movie is great because it has a nice cover peace/slip cover to it. It also comes with a nice slipcover and a digital copy code. These are small things I like about the package, but the biggest thing I like about the movie is the story. The crazy thing is that nobody talked about it and I never saw a trailer for it. It took one of my favorite reviewers to mention it and when I saw that it got nominated for an Oscar that is when i knew i had to watch it. In the end, the movie has a topic about abuse but if you can get through that and enjoy the prosperity moments then you will definitely love this movie!

and the Oscar goes to... Posted by: from: on Brie Larson's performance in this film is beyond question one of the best performances I've seen by a woman in a long time. Room is a must-watch masterpiece, that is deep, lively, and thoughtful, and will undoubtedly room you in its infinite wisdom with only a few characters and limited space.

Great movie to watch Posted by: from: on This is a great movie that makes you sad, angry, and happy. It's no surprise the main actor won an academy award.

Emotionally Intense Movie Posted by: from: on Room is about a boy and his mother being held captive and confined into a room. Once they escape, facing the real world will be their greatest challenge. Brie Larson delivers a remarkable performance as "Ma." This is one of the best movies of 2015 in my mind.

"Room" is a Movie to Ponder Posted by: from: on Unlike many of the movies that squared off against each other this past awards season, "Room" is not easily digested drama that ties all its sub-plots into tidy resolutions. It is a drama that is as messy and raw as its disturbing subject matter: the abduction and captivity of a fresh faced young Ohio girl who is snatched off the streets of her ordinary town and locked away for several years in a backyard shed (the "room" of the title) where she is repeatedly assaulted by her abductor who is in control of her life, and, most disturbingly, the father of her child. Brie Larson won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the film, and young Jacob Tremblay who plays her son probably should have won an Oscar too, he's that good. "Room" isn't light and breezy entertainment, nor is it neatly-packaged drama with the kinds of plot twists and resolutions that allow us to safely "enjoy" a movie about material like this. This is one movie that will keep you thinking about it long after the final credits have run.

Best Best Picture Nominee Posted by: from: on I saw nearly every nominee for the Best Picture Oscar this year, and Room was my favorite of them all. Beyond Brie Larson's award-winning performance, this movie does an excellent job of exploring the everyday details and consequences of an extraordinary situation in relatable ways. A scene involving a rug in the back of a pickup truck is one of the most impactful moments of cinema I've ever experienced.
