I bought this frig after researching French Doors for a couple years. I love the interior water dispenser. Unlike other refrigerators that have the ice and water through the front of the door, this one has ice in the freezer, where it belongs, and a filtered water dispenser on the inside of the frig wall itself.
Compare to others and you'll how much wasted space they use up. Even the filter is placed between the crisper drawers, out of the way, and not hanging down from the top. Others may have more cubic footage, but this one has more usable storage space.
Very well thought out refrigerator and I couldn't happier with it! Love it!

Multiple failures and poor reliability

Shortly after 12 month warrantee expired ice maker consistently had problems. It either didn't work, or ice clumped together in large blocks that you had to break to get apart. We lived with this since we didn't want to pay to have it fixed. Then a little over a year later the cooling system completely failed, and we woke up the day after Thanksgiving with a 62 degree fridge. Frustrating beyond belief that you spend money on something that's suppose to last and ends up failing in two years. I will be very wary of Samsung products in the future, which is too bad, because I have several HD TV's from them as well.

Lots of storage for large family

We were looking for a white French Door Refrigerator that would not break the bank. It also had to have a roomy interior to hold enough food for our family of six. This well-designed refrigerator met these requirements. We were able to pick it up on sale for $1,399 and were excited to find that this model (RF261BEAEWW/AA ) included an interior water dispenser which frees up door shelf space. We can easily fill a glass or liquid measuring cup, but the dispenser area is too small for large pitchers. We love that the water filter does not hang down into the food storage area like many other models and instead is located between the vegetable drawers. There are LED lights in the ceiling of the fridge and in each vegetable drawer area providing light to all parts of the fridge. When our fridge is full, the lights by the drawers make it easier to see items on lower shelves. Finally, if you need room for taller items, one interior shelf has a "cut-out" portion that slides back that we use for a few wine bottles, juice pitchers or two extra jugs of milk.
The freezer also has several features we enjoy. The handle on the freezer lifts up slightly to help break the air lock. This allows taller people to open the freezer without having to stoop too much since the handle pulls up towards them and not just straight out from the front. The ice cube maker produces ice cubes at an acceptable rate but the cubes are smaller than we are used to from our old fridge. Finally there is a separate drawer the same width and depth as the overall freezer drawer that can be slid back revealing items beneath it. Very handy for keeping smaller items such as cans of fruit juice from getting buried.
We did have to call Geek Squad for repairs the day after the fridge was delivered due to the fact that the compressor and other metal tubing in the area behind the freezer was vibrating against a metal sheet making quite a loud rattling sound. This was fixed by a contracted repair person who simply moved some copper tubing slightly and reattached some foam padding that had slipped down a bit which had allowed the compressor to vibrate against some metal. About a month later the sound returned so we had them come out and repair it again. Since then we only hear regular fridge noises.
We are excited to own this fridge as it meets the storage needs for a family of six, is well designed offering ample storage space, uses LED lighting technology, costs roughly $5 per month in electricity and offers similar features of higher-priced refrigerators.

Loud Popping Sounds Make It Unbearable

We had this fridge about a month before we returned it. We liked just about everything except the loud popping sound. Whenever the fridge entered into its cooling cycle, we could hear a sporadic popping sound. Sometimes it was frequent, sometimes it was infrequent. At times it was VERY loud and could be heard throughout the house. This is apparently a common problem with this fridge, as I have read others who have had made the same complaint.

Not working properly

This is the second Samsung of this model I have bought. The 1st one we just received a refund from Samsung and the same problem is happening with the new one we replaced it with. The fan started making a noise we then lost cool from the refrigerator and next the freezer went. After numerous service calls from a certified Samsung repair service, Samsung refunded our money. This did not replace the warranty fee that we had purchased. I am on way today to Best Buy to see if we can exchange the refridgerator. It took over a month to resolve this issue the last time and we were without a refrigerator through the holidays with my grandchildren and daughter staying with us. We were living out of a cooler. A horrible experience overall. I loved everything about the refrigerator except it died. I hoped that this was a fluke. I now understand that this is a problem with this model of refrigerator. I do not find this under any product info. I can only hope that I can exhange this refrigerator. This started immediately within the first week of purchase.

Only had this fridge for 2 months but pretty happy. The eco setting leave a small amount of condensation on bottles/cans when you open the door. The fridge is easy to use and the shelving is awesome. Lots of produce space and the pantry option is great. Most of the time there is a small noise coming from it but that is just the fridge working. Got it on sale for 1399/ Great drop from 2100

Samsung's slow service ruins their products

After my refrigerator has stopped cooling twice within the first 5 months, I am in need of warranty service from Samsung. The quickest service I can get is going to be in 10 days. Wow! There must be a whole lot of broken Samsung items out there to make the wait that long! 10 days with no refrigerator is ridiculous!

I had this fridge for two years. It just stopped working. It doesn't keep the fridge or the freezer cool. I unplugged it for a couple days and then it worked for three more days. I came home from work and it was 60 degrees in both areas. Samsung won't do anything about this. Save yourself a $900 repair bill!!!

Nice Packaging but Disappointing

I spent a long time looking for that right fridge for my new home that matched the space, my needs, my desire for that special blend of design, functionality, and cost. I really thought that I found it in the Samsung RF26 1 BEAESR. Best Buy staff was helpful. Within a couple of weeks, it was decided that I had to have a door replaced. That was certainly a hassle. But I made it past that. Now, in less than 2 years time, I began hearing a loud noise behind the Twin Cooling logo. I called Samsung and was told it was no longer covered and I would need to have a tech come. They said someone would call back. I waited a few days only to get a message that there was no service center anywhere near my home in Maine so there was nothing that they can do. If you are a buyer in Maine, do not buy Samsung products! Perhaps if I had paid a few hundred more for an extended warranty, at least the repair would be taken care of by Best Buy. But is that what we must do to protect us against poor workmanship or against a company that sells products but does not provide service in the state that those sales take place?
