This Samsung 28.2 French Door, 4 door refrigerator in stainless has a great design and looks beautiful. The controls on the black panel above the ice maker are easy to use plus gives you information on the freezer and fridge temperatures that are easy to change. Opening the French doors seeing the brightness of the LED lighting was beyond my expectations! The design, quality, adjusting, and look of the shelves are easy and very functional. I must say thank you to the engineer who placed the water filter between the produce bins! How EASY that will be to change! Coming up next is the best feature...the slide out door just below the French Doors. Another great ideal with options! The storage of frequently used items at 4 flex zone temperature settings was a huge plus and deciding factor over other brands and models! If your looking for an update to your old refrigerator I would highly recommend this model and design!

Awesome Fridge - Quiet Compressor

I read ALOT of reviews before I buy, so in fairness I have to submit my own.
I like to make it simple/concise:
Pros: (Best Buy Guys were GREAT, Delivery was flawless, along with salesman was the BEST!!! The salesman was so good, I even brought a TV from the appliance guy. - I also brought an LG Washer/Dryer will review that later.
Pros for Fridge:
- Very Quiet Compressor - I stay in a Ranch so I like quietness and I didn't want to hear the fridge running and with this one I don't. GREAT feature!!
- Look - It looks really really good in my kitchen
- I love the 4 door, the flex space in the middle is perfect for me to store things that I like to get to quick without opening the big fridge.
- The light in the fridge!! When you open it, it is like 'todaaaaa' (sp), like WOW look at all the light - just wonderful.
- I love the stainless steel look it flows well with everything else
- Lots and Lots of space, I think it is too big for just me (1 person), I have brought $200.00 worth of groceries and I can't begin to fill it up, so for a family it will be perfect
The only major 1 thus far
- The Ice Maker is Loud, but only when it drops the ice, It is so weird it is like all of a sudden, you hear something hard drop, like it had a long long way to fall. Now it may be because my ice maker is not full, but it is weird that I hear it while watching TV ( I have the open floor kitchen plan)
- I don't know how to open ice maker. Not saying it is not in the manual but who reads those?? :o)
I would highly recommend this fridge, the only reason it didn't get a 5 because of the Ice maker, but that may be very normal. And I love the 10 year warranty on the compressor!!! My last fridge (Frigidaire, will never by one of those again) the compressor went out in 7 years, so I like that Samsung is standing behind their Fridge.

Died within 2 months

I purchased this refrigerator as a holiday / housewarming gift for my parents. It is not even 2 months old and it has died. All of the food they had was spoiled. Obviously YMMV but I find this to be highly unacceptable. Getting Best Buy to send a repair person has been problematic as well. When you purchase a ~ $2500 product from a retailer, you expect it to work, and you shouldn't have to jump through hoops if it dies in the first 6 months.

Great at first, but wait a few months

Purchased in February and it was great. However, in July something broke and it will no longer switch between crushed and cubed ice. Since this was not a big deal I procrastinated and didn't contact Samsung support. That has now become a three week nightmare. Still have not had a service person scheduled to even come out and determine what is wrong. Samsung customer support is probably the worst support I have ever dealt with. They originally assigned the ticket to one local company that I was never able to get in contact with. Then a week ago Samsung called me, I explained the situation and was told they would assign to another company. Called Samsung yesterday as I still have not heard from anyone and the ticket was never transferred. The person with "Executive Customer Relations" told she transferred the ticket, called the Authorized Service Center herself, and that I would be contacted within 24 hours to schedule the service call. Plus she would call me back to follow-up. Well, here it is almost 36 hours later and zero calls.
I just want people to be aware of what they may be getting into.
I would not recommend Samsung products to a friend, unless I no longer wanted that person as a friend.

Loud - floors shake

We purchased this refrigerator because we are a family of 5 and needed more space than our old side-by-side provided. We selected the Samsung based on its good reviews, looks, and capacity.
The good - it looks great and seems to have a ton of space. The exterior pull-out drawer seems very convenient. It keeps food cold. I can't say much else because I haven't had it very long.
The bad - it's loud. So loud that it vibrates our wood floors. You can see the liquids vibrating inside of the refrigerator. We've only had it 24 hours and I called Best Buy to report the very loud, obnoxious buzzing/grating sound. Because I didn't purchase the Best Buy warranty, they would not help me unless I paid for assistance. It's only been in my home for 1 day. I contacted Samsung, they suggested that the refrigerator needed to be leveled - something the Best Buy installers did not do when they delivered it. I read the owner's manual and leveled the refrigerator front to back and side to side, but the noise persists and my floors are buzzing. You can hear the refrigerator throughout the main floor of my home and into the basement.
Buyers beware!! It looks snazzy, but you will get no help if something is wrong - even after only having it 24 hours. I'm calling Samsung again and hoping for another suggestion for how I can fix my brand new refrigerator and thinking of purchasing the Best Buy insurance because it looks like I'm going to need to repair my $2k refrigerator during the first week of ownership.

SAMSUNG customer service STINKS!!!!

I got the new fridge as a Christmas present (2013). We knew immediately that it was not property making ice. After repeated calls to the manufacture and service calls they concluded that the fridge was defective from the factory. We were told we could get a refund or replacement fridge. All I wanted is a fridge like I originally bought. By May that model was no longer available. Samsung was not helpful and even rude. The whole process was very lengthy and frustrating. I finally got a replacement fridge in May 2014. Best Buy stepped up and went above and beyond to make this situation right because the Samsung, the manufacture refused! We will defiantly continue to use Best Buy for our appliance shopping but will think twice before we purchase another Samsung product. Their products have nice features but if there is ever a problem they are not NICE to deal with, and that is a deal breaker for me.

No more Samsung

Purchased this refrigerator from Best Buy last June. Worked fine till a few weeks ago. Started noticing ice forming in freezer department on sides. Called Samsung, sent out a tech. He found a dent under the freezer door causing the problem. He called Samsung service dept. they were rude to him yelling they were not doing anything about it. They say it was damaged in shipping. The dent was in a spot where you would not see it unless you got flat on the floor with a flashlight or the door was taken off. I made numerous calls to Samsung repeating the story number of times. Though they cared ended up with three transaction numbers. Said it would go through the review committee. Got a call and was told they were doing nothing. Was stuck with a damaged refrigerator. Called Best Buy, sent out tech. he confirmed it could not be fixed. Was offed a new refrigerator, which we came in and picked out. Needless to say it was not a Samsung. Will never buy a Samsung product after what we went through with the customer service department. Have heard other complaints about them. We will however continue to shop Best Buy.

Decent space, but the water line breaks constantly

We have owned our fridge for one month. In that time, our water filter has frozen on us twice. Once the water filter doesn't work, the refrigerator no longer dispenses water and stops making ice. Even when set at 42 degrees F.(which is above average as far as refrigerator temperatures go), the water filter freezes. Samsung has been unwilling to resolve our problem, resulting in me disassembling and thawing our water filter about every other week. Since the unit accumulates a layer of ice, you must take apart the whole assembly to remove it. Samsung will send you a D.I.Y. guide on typical problems if you put in a service request, and claims if they have to come out and one of these solutions fixes the problem that they will charge you for the service. If you do not enjoy learning the mechanics of your refrigerator on a regular basis, I would not recommend buying this model (or a Samsung, in general).

This is more of a question than a review, but we just got this fridge, and the motor is noticeably audible - more so than any other fridge I've been around. Not saying it's loud, but it's loud enough that we're *noticing* it. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience?

Maybe I got a bad one

After only a week of having refrigerator I noticed a noise. It makes this noise frequently throughout the day. It is a humming sound that is very annoying. I read some reviews and saw that others had the same issue with it making noise. Best Buy has been FANTASTIC. I told them I did not want a repair man to come out and that I was within my 15 days that I could return it. I was concerned because I read that Samsung customer service is not great. I thought if the refrigerator makes a noise after a week, this wasn't something I wanted to fool with. The refrigerator itself is very nice and I know many people with Samsung's that are quiet. This one is not!
