Leaking brand new unit
Posted by: Anna from: on
My brand new washer and dryer look absolutely great. Those 2 unit are very quiet when its operating. A lot of features to choose, however I was a little disappointed because of the leaking that coming out of the front door every single load. We observed and tried 5 times in that day still leaked few drop of water. I called the geek squad technical support and they thought its the gasket problem and order the part and sent it to me and had the geek squad agent to install it for me. It turned out not to be the gasket problem but the door itself and suggested to repair the door but we decided to return the unit and get the better one (5200 series). Expecting our washer/ dryer on August if 2nd 2016 (back order). I hope my review will help your decision making in purchasing this unit.

Washes well with great spin cycle
Posted by: Scott from: on
Pluses and minuses.
Overall this is a good washer that does a good job cleaning clothes. It has a great variety of cycles, great capacity, and an excellent spin cycle that really helps to dry clothes and create short cycle times for the accompanying dryer.
On the down side, my detergent tray always has water in it after each cycle, so I have to empty it. When contacting customer service, I was sent to a FAQ page that said it could be due to leveling. This machine was installed by BB customer service and appears to be pretty level. I've learned at this point just to deal with the issue and empty the tray. My second issue is with the lint filter at the bottom of the machine. It tends to dump a lot of water out when you take it off to clean it (have a couple big towels ready), and it seems to leak water from that area (a small amount) for the first load or 2 after cleaning it.
All in all it's a nice machine, I'd just hope they make improvements on future models to fix these 2 issues.

I love it! It works flawlessly!
Posted by: ACEINSUREYA from: HUDSONVILLE, MI on
I have been VERY Pleased with the performance of this machine. Spin cycle is tremendous and really cuts down on drying time. All has come out very clean. Large capacity handled queen size comforter, bed spread and sheets as well in the same load. *** IT IS A BIT WIDER THAN LISTED IN THE SPECS! I had to quickly remove the trim from basement stairway & wall to accommodate delivery. Delivery folks did scratch the finish a little when they insisted on carefully trying to carrying/slide it down the stairs rather than using a dolly. Since it sits in basement, scratches were not a real big deal as only I see it. I did receive a small amount of compensation for the scratches & delivery folks were quite apologetic as it happened. This is a TREMENDOUS washing machine!

Samsung Washing Machine
Posted by: Rumfordred from: on
I'm happy with my new replacement washing machine. My last Samsung lasted me 5 yrs and I loved it. My only issue with the new washing machine is, it doesn't spin out as much water as my last Samsung. I noticed this drum is tilted on an angle and my other washer wasn't. Maybe thats why it doesn't spin out enough water. Which has not affected drying time. I use the my cycle which is a quick wash and I've added a few more minutes to the time. The washer is very quiet during the wash and spin. I did notice the sometime there is a whistling sound when the washer is filling. It doesn't happen all the time (3X so far). Not sure why. The machine came with hoses. When I ordered the machine it leads you to believe you had to order hoses. I used the hoses I ordered because they were the braided metal flexible hoses which I like better. I'm very happy with my washer and the servicemen who came to deliver and install the machine. In and out in less than 15 minutes and the were here on time.

Love it so far...
Posted by: BusyTexasMom from: on
We bought this washer at Christmas, but with weekly laundry duties, I've put it through about 15 loads so far. I didn't really think that I would use all the differet settings, but I've tried to experiment with them and everything seems to come out clean. I love the bedding option as my old washer - a top loader over 20 years old - really couldn't wash my comforters well. If you've never had a front load, the first time will be an experience! I kept telling my husband that it couldn't be working as I had visions of the tub actually filling with water and being able to see the clothes slosh around. In actuality, they just seemed to be tumbling back and forth with a little water splashed over them now and then. But one of the more heavily soiled items was indeed clean when it came out. And the family still smiles when they hear the "buzzer" go off as the sound is more of a little song. The only thing I'm not sure I like is that you can't just dump the clothes in the tub and you have to make sure nothing has fallen out or getting stuck in the door before you close it. The washer is extremely quiet but the "buzzer" is quiet as well and I don't always hear it to know when the clothes are done. The four stars are simply because I don't feel like I've had the washer long enough to know whether it will be durable enough to warrant a 5 star rating.

Used the washer for approximately a month now. Very satisfied with the unit. It does a much larger load than my old unit, and the vibration reduction technology is really efficient. The rinse and spin cycles are so quiet that I barely hear them with the laundry room door closed. It is really pleasant downstairs, as well, since it does not sound like a freight train is charging through whenever the washer is in use.

All the necessities
Posted by: NavinRJohnson from: Rowlett, TX on
This model does an excellent job cleaning clothes and is very easy to use. Even though it may seem to have a much smaller feature list than the more expensive models, it has many cycles and works well. I noticed a huge improvement in the cleanliness of my clothes. It also seems to do a great job spin drying them as they clothes feel nearly dry when I remove them. The capacity is quite good too.

Don't waste $$ on protection plans.
Posted by: from: on
Please save your time, money, & sanity! Don't buy the Best Buy protection plan. I have been through this process with a washer twice now, and it is the most frustrating process ever. First time, it took 3 months to get approval for a replacement washer & 3-4 weeks to get a repairmen to the house. (Not to mention the hours, upon hours, of fruitless, frustrating calls, and the endless trips to, & money spent at the laundromat so!). Two years later, and we are once again going through the process. One week in, and still not on any repair shop schedule! Same story every time we call. This shows that our first experience was not a fluke, but likely the norm. I just want to warn others that the plan is not as they make it sound!

An outstanding upgrade over older dated washer
Posted by: Jeff63 from: Bellflower, Ca on
Recently purchased this washing machine to upgrade an older top loading machine. After doing research and comparing energy and water usage, the front loader seemed like a no-brainer. There are only 2 companies out there currently offering a 10-year warranty on the direct drive motor & Samsung is one of them. We've had this washer for a little over a week and it is quiet and working great; our clothes are cleaner than they have been in a long time. Features are easy to use. I'd highly recommend this washer to anyone.

great washer and dryer overall
Posted by: KC768 from: on
Washer and dryer are great overall, however the cons of the washer are the cycles take longer than typical top loader and you have to wipe all the water from around the door and let it dry out prior to closing it when not in use. If you don't let it dry out, its gets a musty odor. The dryer is absolutely wonderful. I recommend the pedestals for the washer and dryer for storage of laundry soaps, softeners, etc as well as raising it off the floor for easier use. The delivery men were the best and very knowledgeable about set up. They did a fantastic job!
