So far so good! Posted by: from: on My old washing machine bit the big one and it was time to find something new. I decided I didn't want a front loader because of smell issues we had with our old one and I started looking. The Samsung washers got good ratings and this one happened to be an open box sale so I happily took it, saving a few bucks! I've had it for about 6 weeks now and I like it! It is deep so my 5'3" self has to reach a bit to get the stuff out of the bottom but that's really no different than all of the years I had before I had gotten the front loader. I like the different cycles and settings - there is something for pretty much anything I want to do. My clothes have been clean and spun pretty well when washed in this machine - almost spun as well as my front loader used to do. The chiming song at the end of the wash cycle is really cute and while it is easy to shut off, I kind of like it! I love that it has a self-wash cycle that cleans out the whole machine and I just set that to run after I'm done doing laundry for the day (the light goes on about every 20 washes) and it's been great. I'm definitely happy with this machine thus far!

Broken Posted by: from: on I've had this washer since September 2015(it's May 2016 currently) and it just stopped finishing spin cycles. It now shakes vigorously trying to spin until it errors out and shuts off. It's still under warranty and if Samsung fixes this or replaces it then I will re-review, but currently I am 100% dissatisfied with the product because it only lasted 8 months...

I got a lemon Posted by: from: on I don't know how this washer got so many good ratings. maybe I just got a lemon. After about 6 weeks the washer started to get loud during the spin cycle. It was obvious that it was not normal and was getting progressively worse. Called Samsung customer support. I had to record a video and upload to an online service request before they would send a repair man. After 5 visits and many replaced parts over the course of two months they finally agreed to exchange the washer. i spent several hours on the phone with customer support trying to get them to replace what was obviously a bad unit. Very frustrating. I will not buy another Samsung appliance after this experience.

Not working after 3 weeks Posted by: from: on After three weeks, it seems something has happened to the timer--loads never finish and go through various cycles several times. Spin never finished and more water loaded, so I couldn't get the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. Moreover, trying to get an appointment with Samsung took me 2 hours (no need to go into details). After getting one, they changed it to a week later so I am still waiting....

Average machine. Posted by: from: on So far this machine does a good job of getting the laundry clean. It does have a deep basket which I had read in the reviews prior to my purchase so it is hard for shorter people to get laundry out of the bottom of the tub. I am dealing with that. The spin cycle does not seem to be as fast as my previous machine (Whirlpool Cabrio) and I notice that some of the heavier items are coming out more damp. This morning I did a load of whites and when I pushed the Detergent/Softener area back in all of the fabric softener immediately spilled into the tub. Hoping this was just a fluke thing and won't happen again. If not I will be making a call to service. I also did not discover until after I purchased the washer that you can not use powder laundry aids like Borax. There is only one dispenser for laundry detergent so if you use a liquid laundry detergent you would have to use a liquid laundry aid and put them together in the same dispenser. The instruction manual does say the manufacturer does not recommend the use of powdered detergents.

I love this washer! Posted by: from: on I can honestly say that I have never loved a washer as I do my new Samsung. After having a front loader for the past 10 years, I swore I would never get another. The constant cleaning to fight off mold and the fact that I have to turn it down a spin speed and still have it shake down the house told me never again. My laundry room is on the 2nd floor. My HE front loader died and I was without a washer for 6 days with a family of 5. As soon as the Samsung was delivered it went into action with 5 consecutive loads. Complete ease and I honestly had no idea when it was spinning. The washing came out so much drier it cut down time in the dryer by about 20 mins. I'm a pretty basic washer, whites/lights - warm and coloreds - cold. But I love the bedding wash option for sheets, comforters and towels. It was hard for me to believe that the small agitator would move anything around but the first few cycles I stood peering through the glass top watching as the colored items were drawn from the top to the bottom of the load. The one problem I could see for more petite people, would be leaning In to the drum to retrieve clothes from the bottom. I'm 5'8" and can do it on my tip toes. But I would truly recommend this washer to my friends

awesome washer Posted by: from: on Bought to replace my Samsung front loads that were still working great after 7 years but ready to get back to top load. I read A LOT of reviews on this machine... mostly good ones but definitely saw a few that weren't so great. Because of this I decided to put my own review out there. If you have had any experience with a "he" washer then you should enjoy this washer just fine. It's fantastic and so far operates exactly as its supposed to. It in fact washes much more efficiently than my Samsung front loads that were almost 2500 new, so to me this unit is a extremely good value. I have had no issues with balance, cleaning or any other issue thus far. Just like anything I'm sure there are units that do have issues, mine however works great and I'd highly recommend it. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I've only had it for a short time.

Expensive repair early Posted by: from: on Washer never did a great job getting clothes clean, often they would come out with spots or not look thoroughly washed, so we have to rewash or at least do another rinse cycle. But then after only 18 months of use, the washer refused to start. Turned out to be a control board that with service charge, labor and part cost was $320. Normally I would have just purchased a new washer, but I had been led to believe by Samsung phone support that the board was under warranty (some have a 2 year warranty, but not the main board - shocker) and I was in a time crunch. Samsung has refused my request to cover part of the cost, stating the warranty is the warranty. But why are SOME of the circuit boards covered by a longer warranty, but not the main one? Also, a washer should last more than 18 months. I'm done with Samsung, period.

Very quiet and efficient Posted by: from: on My favorite things about this washer: -it is very very quiet. When my laundry room door is closed, you wouldn't even know I have a washing machine. -lots and lots of room. I can fit 3 old loads into one with this machine. Which means less water and electricity usage! -extremely efficient. My utility bills have been much lower than usual, and the only that has changed is that we got this new washer. This is definitely a perk! My not-so-favorite things about this washer: -I'm not sure if it's just mine, but it has a habit of becoming"uneven" very easily. And staying that way. Which means I have to unload it, and then reload it evenly. -the fact that is so big can be a problem when you're trying to reach that one sock that decide to sit at the very back of the bottom. So if you have any kind of back issues, I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, this is a wonderful washing machine. It does clean very well, and it's kind of cool with all the shiny lights and fancy noises.

Clean & Quiet Posted by: from: on After reading many reviews, this was the best choice for my needs. It is quiet, efficient and gets the job done. The Normal cycle, 53 minutes long, the Hvy Duty 73 minutes long, the Quick Wash 20 minutes long, all preformed as expected. While other reviews stated it takes too long to wash, my old water hogger took 45 minutes, so this isn't so bad. The water amount is something to get use to, but I find that instead of 40 gals of wash water in the old one, to this, surprisingly DOES get the clothes clean. The difference is that in the old agitator type the water only came from the top. With this, the water jets from the sides and the bottom cover all clothes. I have yet to find dry spots where water didn't get to the clothes. I am very pleased with this and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase it again.
