Broke after 4 months, Samsung service terrible
Posted by: SamsungDisappoints from: on
I loved this oven. The burners cook a bit too hot, but once you get used to it you adapt. I bought it on 5/23/15 and used the self cleaning for the first time on 10/8/15. At some point during the cleaning, the oven just died. Black screen, door won't open and I've spent 3 hours on with Samsung Customer Service as it's still under warrantee. Still no one has called me to set up the service appointment as promised. It was $800 and Geek Squad wants me to pay $100 for them to fix it and then $200-$300 to repair it. Again, it's four months old. I'm so frustrated and disappointed in the response from both Best Buy and Samsung. Five days later no one has called to help and I'm still without an oven. If and when I do get it fixed, I probably won't use the self cleaning option encase it would break it again.

SAMSUNG WON'T HONOR WARRANTY FOR 3 MTHS OLD
Posted by: HTMF from: on
I bought this stove and had it installed on early June 2015. On Aug 20, 2015, when I was cooking, actually just start boiling a small pot of water, I heard a cracked sound. The glass top had a big cracked that extended over 1/2 the surface. I didn't drop anything on it. No den, no glass chips, no spider web cracked. The glass top just cracked because of I am using it to cook. Call Samsung, sent out technician, and Samsung - Product Support- refused to fix it because it is "Physical Damage" . Yes, the product is Physical Damage but it is not by me, is because I am using it to cook. Definitely, there are some defect or quality issue here. A $800+ stove last for just less than 3 months. The price quote from the technician is $175 + tax for the glass top, $355 + tax for the labor. It is almost like a cost for the new stove. When I search online, this is not a unique case. And Samsung keeps using Physical Damage as an excuse. They should put a warning on the display that Glass Top are easy to cracked, and it is not under our warranty. Don't buy their product.

Control knobs are too hot to the touch
Posted by: Albert from: Port Saint Lucie, Florida on
Rear burners are TOO close to control knobs, when the rear burners are on the control knobs are very hot to the touch.
We contacted Samsung customer support about this issue and they were very patronizing and rude.
They sent a Samsung service man to check the heat of the knobs and they claim that if the heat is within Samsung design tolerances then there is nothing wrong with the range regardless if the knobs are too hot to the touch, but they will not tell you what are the design tolerances...
If you decide to buy this electric range be careful touching the control knobs when the rear burners are on.
We will never buy another Samsung product again.

Glass top breaks
Posted by: Ron3300 from: on
Glass top has broken twice in the first year. We owned another glass top range for over 15 years prior to this range, and never had a broken glass top. Have been told by a appliance repair facility that Samsung knows the glass is weak, and covers it for a year. NOT HAPPY !!

Messed up after the 2nd day
Posted by: MinnieChuot from: on
Gross. Disgusting stove top ever. Cooked some good ramen on the first day and it was great, fantastic! The next day we boiled some water and the water droplets dropped onto the stovetop and created some disgusting bubbles! I could not believe my eyes. What has happened? It was just water, but the glass started to create air bubbles. No explanation, gonna exchange or return it for sure. Must have been a defected stove or samsung sucks. So disappointed. Look at the photos and see! Is this normal for a stove top with just water??

Great value in a range
Posted by: wisemember from: on
I read many reviews on ranges from multiple sources and was pretty discouraged. It seems that as the features have improved markedly over the years the longevity has not. After speaking to a very knowledgeable sales person at my local Best Buy, I was confident that I had made the right choice. so far the range has lived up to my expectations. We'll see if over the years it turns out to be durable. I bought and advise an extended service contract.

So I like to wait a couple months before I leave reviews on appliances. And I am glad I did. I HATE , HATE HATE this stove. It is so hard to clean the glass top, my old GE was much easier to clean. The oven... Good gwads..... It take a good 45 minutes to heat up to 400*. 350* usually takes about 25 to 30 minutes. It cooks very unevened and the door of the oven will not shut. It keeps springing open about 1/2 an inch. Called Samsung about 3 different times and each time nobody could help me. They said my warranty does not cover this problem sorry. the stainless steel parts scratch very easy. I am hoping this stupid stove will self implode so I can justify buying a different oven. Next time I am getting a Maytag to Whirlpool.

Want to love this range

The burners (both fast and rapid) are very slow to boil, even at a high setting The stove is pretty, but my old GE worked better.

Poor Quality and numerous problems
Posted by: NeverSamsungAgain from: on
I have had four times now where my range stopped working properly. Only the firstt time was in the warranty period and the last three have cost me dearly. And I have only had the range about three years. Very dissatisfied. Is there a rating below 1 star?

Disappointed - clicking, slow to warm up
Posted by: Renesis from: on
- It looks great compared to our 17 year old Whirlpool oven.
- Oven clicks on and off very loudly. The convection fan clicking on and off is tolerable.
- The oven takes ~10 minutes to reach 400 °F. That is twice as long as our old oven. Why!
- The stove top looks like it's had one year of use after only one use.
How anyone can be happy with this range is beyond me.
