Works fine / Incorporates cooling fan

The chargers work as advertised, even with a case on the phone. The wireless charger I purchased from Verizon would not work with the case on it. I tested my Droid Turbo 2 with a demo charger at the store, and it worked. I purchased two of these for the headboard of our bed, which positions the chargers about 6-8 inches from our heads. Discovered the first night that the "fast" version of the charger generates some heat and the Samsung incorporated a cooling fan inside the unit to dissipate the heat, which it appears to do, but it does generate a little bit of noise. I decided that since I only charge my Turbo 2 at night and the non-fast version of this charger would easily charge the phone overnight, I returned the two "fast" chargers and purchased to of the non-fast versions instead. The non-fast version doesn't generate nearly as much heat as the fast version.
Just thought someone else might like to know about the fan...

Works well, even with a case

I bought this to use with my Galaxy S7 Edge and it charges it without issue, even with the phone being in a case. It also has no problem charging a standard Galaxy S7 in an otterbox. I have not tried the standard wireless charger so I cannot comment how much, if any, faster this model is. What I can say is that this one charges faster than using a standard, non-adaptive, universal wall charger. The phone still charges the fastest if you plug the phone in the old fashioned way using the Samsung adaptive charger. But a slight trade off in charging speed for the name of convenience is fine by me. However, you need to be somewhat accurate when you set the phone down on the mat. The center of the phone needs to be pretty close to the center of the mat for it to charge. There is a margin of error, but not a very large one.

So, far I'm really happy with this. I'm a total gadget person so this is right up my alley. I did opt for the device without the stand which works better for me. I do like that the cord on this is much longer than the traditional charger provided with the S7 Edge. When you place the phone on the pad, you do have to move it around a little to find the sweet spot for charging. You'll know because the phone will beep and a blue light will appear along the outer rim of the charging pad. It charges super fast. I'll have my battery life at less than 10% and after 15 minutes it's up over 90%. One thing I really like about this is that the pad and your phone will emit a green light when the charge has reached 100%. The pad will stop charging the phone when this is reached so you don't have to worry about overcharging the battery. I'm officially spoiled and this device will become a mandatory accessory for all future devices.

Bought it for our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, works as described. 30% in 30 minutes, S7 has OtterBox heavy duty case and S7 Edge has the Otter Box Symmetry case. Be aware Fast Charging only works on Edge S6 and up, the S6 will get standard charging.

Case does matter

I love being able to use the wireless charger next to my bed so that i don't have to mess with stupid cables and such. Simple to just put on the charger and fall asleep. I use the Samsung Galaxy S7 with no issues.
Light is blue when charging, green when done. I found the light to be a little too bright for the bedroom, but it is what it is.
Though they do not advertise it, I found that this also works on LG optimus that have the technology built into them, as well as the moto 360 watch (i haven't tested anything further) The moto 360 caps out at 80% when charging and the LG does fully charge.
Pricing is steep on this, but in the end that is the price of convenience.
As for the case, I recommend using the testing unit in store to see if your case is compatible with the wireless charging. I had an issue with the Platinum cases that caused hardware issues to the phone (the home buttons no longer worked unless you took it out of the case and they wouldn't light up if you restarted the phone). I currently use the Otterbox symmetry case which has no issues on the wireless charging capabilities.

I purchased this item to charge my galaxy s7 and I must say it works great. Charges my phone fast and all the way through the otter box defender. Two thumbs up!

charger works great

This charger works great even through my case on my s6 edge plus. Going from a cheap wireless charger with reciver on my s5 to a fast charger on my s6 ege plus i noticed my phone charges a lot quicker. I also like the built in fan it disapates the heat generated by wireless charging my phone is barely warm to touch.

What a wonderful idea. The plugs on the Samsungs have been known to cause some trouble and this eliminates that altogether. The only hiccup is that you have to place the phone on the right spot or the charge does not start, but you get used to the spot on the phone. Otherwise- awesome.

Fast charge works great.

Works great but I just saw where Samsung has just come out with the same unit but they put a base on it and angled the unit more towards a vertical 35 degree angle, so now instead of laying the phone flat horizontally, the unit now allows the phone go charge and be more vertical, so you can see & use the phone while it continues to charge. I like that one better.

Great, but a little touchy

I bought this device when I recently replaced my Samsung Galaxy S3 with a new Galaxy S7. I liked the idea of not using the mini USB port and "fast" charging. I have found that it is necessary to be careful to place the phone rather precisely on the round charging platform. Last week I placed the phone on the platform and checked back a couple hours later and it still was only at 49%. I went into the store and spoke with the Samsung rep, and he told me "this is a known issue". I was afraid my device was defective. After calling Samsung, I was disappointed at the poor response I received from their support line (not usually the case). They were willing to replace it, but I had to send it in first, using a mailing label they would send me. Since then, I am careful to place the phone more precisely on the platform and to confirm that the phone states "fast charging". It would have been preferable if Samsung (both in the Best Buy store and on the phone) could have suggested I take care when placing the phone on the disc. Otherwise, this works well. Usually takes about two and a half hours to 3 hours to fully charge from a 20% charge level. I keep my Otterbox case on and it does not interfere. I suspect this will save wear and tear on the mini USB port. Note, it charges fast when using the cord through the mini port, which I use when travelling.
